LatiDoll Yellow Discussion part 27

I have a Lime Hana with this issue. It began on her cheek and has moved down to her mouth. I did seal her as soon as I noticed, but it didn't matter. I will have to redo her face. It's very sad. I have other dolls from other companies kept in the same place as little Hana is kept, there is no issue. I have faceups on dolls I have done myself, kept in the same place, with no issue. I know this happened with the Aladdin release on the tan dolls. At that time Lati said it was a new sealant issue I believe.

Those cracks are much more noticeable than the cracks on my Flame Sprite. She has some short vertical lines on her forehead between the eyebrows. Most of the time her bangs cover the cracks. The problem is due to the manufacturing process, not the place where the dolls are kept as I have many Lati dolls and only one has a sealant problem.

 

That is sad @desertmountainbear , she's got such a pretty face.

Meanwhile, I'm a happy bunny - my order from Lati arrived at last, and it's perfect. I got Mia in the pink skin and Mystic Ellie in the chocolate brown.
I also bought an extra peach pink body for my PKF RA headback which is a fairly good match to FL's NS - I think it would be a great match if the head was new, but it is a bit yellowed.
I had originally bought a Lati NS body for this head, but it was way too orange, so I ordered a NS Haru for that body. So that's three new Latis - and my last remaining PKF head can finally stop rolling!

Last week my grey Lea Hell Kid arrived from Japan as well. All of a sudden I'm swamped with Latis, and I'm loving it!

(I now have 7 Latis and 4 PKFs on Lati bodies!)

I hope the weather holds, so I can take some pictures tomorrow.

@spih Yes I did read about the silica gel they put in the boxes. But I thought that was just during shipping. I didn't know you have to keep your dolls boxed to avoid this issue. I have so many Lati dolls some are over 10 years old none pf them have cracked sealant. This only happens to the new dolls they ship out. I agree I also want to look at my dolls. If there was a warning sealant can crack overtime I would have never her bought them.

@chinadoll I sent two of my dolls back to redo their face up. Had to pay for shipping twice to and back from Lati and for the face ups. And now my panda Lime Belle has terrible cracked sealant . While she was kept with all my other dolls in the same condition and dark place. Again Lati wants me to pay 80 usd for face up and shipping twice. They said it's only free if it happened with in 3 weeks. But the cracking shows up after months. Like you I also love Lati dolls that's why bought them. Yes fingers crossed it will never happen again. Unfortunately I will never buy again.

@desertmountainbear That's the same thing that happened to the dolls I did sent back to Lati. I also explained that this never happens to dolls from other companies just with Lati doll. So there must be something wrong with the sealant they use or the conditions they work in. It didn't matter at all. I still had to pay. Your doll is lovely btw.

@desertmountainbear and @Lillyroos thank you for posting pictures. My Mina from 2020 in normal skin had a tiny mark on her forehead and I was wondering if this is what it was.

 

The cracking problem must be due to the manufacturing conditions because I have two Lati dolls from the same release from 2015 and only one of them has tiny cracks in the sealant. Both have been on display all the time. None of my older or newer Lati dolls has any cracks - not even the one from 2007 that I accidentally dropped into a lake while taking photograps! (But Lati used better sealant way back then). I don't remember when they changed.

Wow its happening alot so it's lati issue not bec. we don't take care of our dolls. I don't want to keep my dolls in box what is the point of buying them when it has to stay in box. I like to display my dolls inside dollhouse or cabinets so i can see them or sometimes I will take one out to sit on my desk while i do work. I have other doll companies in my collection and no crack happens only this 1 doll from lati. knock on wood hope its only this one. I still have 3 lati dolls on layaway with doll peddlar. I am not sure what my dolly plan in the future would be but its hard to just stop buying from lati but i am very picky now.

 

Here's Tiger Lily, my new Mystic Ellie. She's in chocolate tan, which to me looked a bit warmer in tone than the other tan she was offered in.



I did order a new wig for her, but for now she's borrowed one from the stash.

I had the brown tan little red riding hood Nia and she had the sealant issue under her nose. I always like to get a new faceup for my dolls so it doesnt matter to me but its very sad for those who like the company faceup. You could always ask an artist to imitate it, I know some of them are willing to do that

 

I figured I might as well contribute to the sealant issue pictures. Fortunately, my Lati Yellow doesn't have the issue yet but my Lati White Yuri does. Both dolls were purchased this year with in the last 4 months. I guess I will have to redo the face-up on the Lati White Yuri

I can't believe I went from not owning any Latis at all to seven in less than a year! They're a menace for my wallet!! LOL!!!

 

what a cute collection, I love your Sunny twins. I accumulated quite a few in the last year too. It doesn't help that they are so readily available at all times with dollpeddlar. Also lati keeps making so many new cute faces that I have a hard time cutting myself off

She's so cute! I love the pink - I wasn't sure when I ordered her, but she's absolutely adorable.
I promised myself that I wouldn't buy anything this year, but that resolution went out the window in the first week of January.

 

I think Kuura has too much clothes already, but she still wants more!
