1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

LatiDoll Yellow SP 20cm Discussion part 1

Jun 18, 2007

    1. Byurl (and Lumi) were my first Lati babies, because I liked their happy little faces. Still love them!

    2. They look so fresh and cool in their little sundresses, Maddy.

    3. Hi! I realize this is an older thread - but is this still true of lati yellow? are they 16cm or 20 cm? is that the difference between the basic and the basic SP? I have been trying to figure it out!

    4. ugh, I keep trying to figure out sizing on the lati website and it has a link for "yellow renewable body and sp body size FAQ" but when I click on it, the link leads to nothing and the date is from 2007, as if it's old info they removed.

Can anyone tell me what a renewable body is and what a SP body is?

    5. The "Renewal" size, what most people just call Yellow is 16cm. It's the size you see most often.

The Sp size is 20cm. Sometimes people will call these "Special", but it's not to be confused with a "Special Release" like this year's Magicians. Those are two different definitions of Special.

Most people are pretty good about saying Yellow Sp when they mean 20cm, but if you're buying something, it's always a good idea to make sure.

This photo shows the difference between the two sizes.

You can see most of the naked Lati bodies together in this pic for comparison as well.

Detailed measurement for both as well as info about shopping for clothing for the two different bodies can be found in the Lati Yellow Resource Thread.

If that didn't answer all your questions, just ask!

    6. Please convince me that I've not made the wrong decision in ordering 2 sp's rather than the 16cm....

    7. No way, Honey! Sp's are great dolls. While the 16cms might have a certain big-headed toddler-like charm, they often stand up about as well as a kid learning to walk too. They can be very fussy little posers, while the 20cms are more likely to stay where you put them. They seem to be to be a tad older with the proportions of an older preschooler or kindergartener--a wonderfully proportioned stage with plenty of cuteness. The body of the 20cm doll is really beautiful--it's my favorite of all the Lati tinies. If you sew, I think the 20cms are a bit easier to sew for. They share clothing with an interesting range of dolls, from similar child-like dolls to separates for dolls like Blythe. And I think they're now growing in popularity so that we'll be seeing more unique handmade clothing for them as well.

      Hope that helps.

    8. Okay, so I figured out that the bratz boyz tops will fit Lati yellow SP, but do anyone know where I can find jeans/trousers that will fit and look like a little boy would wear them?

    9. Thanks for that, the main reason I went for the 20cm was because I have loads of Blythe sized clothes and I've seen some dolls dressed in the Re-ment fashions which I also have. I can't wait to get them home so I can see what fits. The other reason was that I think the arms look a little awkward on the 16cms!

I'm sure that I'll completely fall in love with them when they arrive...:pcupcake

    10. Sharon in Spain does some lovely clothes (including jeans) for the Yellow SP kids, too.

    11. Honey did you get your Sp Latis yet? I think one of these might be a great companion for my PpoPpo...!!!

    12. Nope, still on 'preparing items'. I tried to get Lati to change my Lea to a 16cm but they wouldn't do it! :(

I feel like I've been waiting forever!

    13. If there are any knitters on this thread (or people who can bully knitters), DoA member Dollswest has a free pattern on her website this month for Lati Yellow Sp. You can download it here:
      http://www.dollswestdesigns.com/Free_Monthly_Pattern.htm
After September you should be able to find it in her Free Pattern Archive.
These kids need sweaters for fall!

    14. Thanks, I am always looking for new knitting projects for my dolls.

    15. Thanks so much for posting the link to the knitting pattern :)

    16. Thanks again for the free knitting pattern site. I also purchased two of her patterns. Gives me something to do while waiting. I am getting really tired of "preparing items." I don't have access to the market place yet but keep hearing about great things for sale there. Does anyone know if Lati's come up for sale very often?

    17. I think Riley patterns fit the Lati Yellow SP size doll. Not sure about the fit though, I haven't made anything new for my Laches in a while.

    18. Thank you,susan402

    19. i used to be a renewal body snob, but then i got a special boy to represent my son (the renewals are minis of my 3 and 5 year olds) and am totally in love with special bodies now. i have all boys though (by chance, but it's hard for me to imagine the renewals as boys when they're missing their willies! LOL)

but i am waiting on my first renewal girl now (a Kuroo, yay)

just wondering, what age do you think of the special bodies as being? i think of mine around 9 (cause that's my son's age)...any other thoughts/reasoning?
