Leads on mature mini male bodies

    1. I have a feeling this is going to be harder than I anticipated, but I fell in love with myou doll's 1/6 Vieruodis!! She is perfect for a character of mine, but the problem I'm running into is finding a suitable doll for her husband. Because she is so small it would look silly to put her next to, say an MSD at 60cm. I'm hoping someone can help me find a mature male body and maybe even face sculpt around the 38-45cm range. I'm hoping for a more athletic/muscled body as he is a warrior. Faces that I feel like match the look of him in my mind are SartoriaJ Jude and Joshua as well as Luts' Uranus. Something with a more square jaw and less soft features and a more hooked nose rather than curved. Is it possible to swap 50cm range heads onto 40cm range bodies? Or does it look strange proportionally?

      Leads on any of these would be greatly appreciated!!

    2. Maybe one of the Luts Model Delf boys (45cm, and you can find details on the 3 types of bodies for them here) or IOS Unitots (36cm, but they only come on one type of body and are sold out for now)?

    3. One of the companies you mentioned has a line of dolls that might work- Luts' "model delf" line. They're mature minis, 45 cm tall, and two of the three body options are fairly muscular. While they often make dolls in multiple lines, they sadly don't have a mdf of Uranus yet. They have some sculpts that are fairly angular, though.

      Another company to look into is Granado, whose manly guys come in many, many sizes. There's also Iplehouse's JID line.

      As for the head swap: 40 and 50 cm dolls are generally in the same size class (1/4 scale aka MSD), but whether or not it will look alright to swap their heads really just depends on the particular dolls involved. For example: a Dream Valley 50 cm's head would look fine on a smaller body, since they're fairly small heads.

    5. It might be difficult to get one but i think aGatti men could fit...
      Not the MCCC or the MCC Body because they are to large but the smaller MAA or MA Body should be fine...
      Plus they have very realistic, mature faces...

    10. I can offer to take a size comparison picture between Luts model delf and Myou Alan who is the same size as Vieruodis (but a boy) once I get home. Should give you some idea how your girl would look like with one. Do you need anything else than them standing side by side? I don't mind putting them in other poses too if you can think of something specific.

      I personally don't think this particular combo is too good, tiny little Myou doll looks like a very skinny child next to a model delf, he's completely towering over him and looks gigantic in comparison. :sweat

    11. I can take photos of a barbie next to my msds but they will look like hobbits at best and very young children at worst. ^^;
      1/6 scale is generally what you'll want to stay within... maybe some 1/5 scale (very unusual size) could work, but 1/4+ will likely not be great. The only exception to this that I can think of is Fairyland Chicline; they might work despite the height because they have very, very small heads (even for fashion minis) - I found this photo on deviantart of a Chicline next to some off-topic playline dolls - but they're long discontinued and very hard to find.

    12. thank you so much for the photo!! I was wondering what they would look like next to each other. The couple I am wanting to make DO have a height difference but that one is quite a large one in comparison :XD: I really wish I could find a doll around 41cm or 39cm, but that seems to be very uncommon.

    13. Okay, maybe I can give you some help. Because I own a Dream Valley 1/6 slim fox body, I can tell you, it won't work with any MSD sized doll. Not with a Fairyland chicline boy nor Dollshe. But what about ARK Doll Bunny Z for example? He's only 31cm. But he should fit size wise BJD Mr. Bunny Z Boy 31cm Ball-jointed doll_YOSD size doll_ARK Doll_DOLL_Ball Jointed Dolls (BJD) company-Legenddoll

      Her head is obviously too big in the scale (I actually think it's even too big for her own body and she came with it...) but I don't think the bodies look too off scale, it would be only matter of finding 1. Suitably small head 2. Muscular male body in this still rather uncommon size. Actually the only male body in 1/5 size I can think is the male version of this very body by doll Family-H and it's far from being muscular and manly.

    17. I've been looking at island doll Hua Island Body. You may need to get a bigger scale head similar to the myou as the
      Long Qingzhi head is smaller, similar in size to fairyland from what I can tell from measurements but the size is perfect to go with myou dolls since they are on the larger side of 1/4 dolls, similar to fashion size dolls but the bigger head proportions of normal 1/4s
