1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Lee-el : 90cm Dolls

May 2, 2013

    1. They do make half scale dress forms for pattern drafting classes. Or they used to. Make it up in small and so on....I have a couple. I guess what I've always wanted is a half scale "person" instead of a stuffed headless static "ctotheshanger"....and I certainly don't see her as a rail skinny runway model who is probably starving herself to death. Nor some "blonde bombshell" with more boobs then brains. Just a fun way to enjoy making clothes and have a "model" with personality. Versatile and fun. Elegant one minute, and jeans and tee shirt the next. And different with a simple change of eyes or hair and all that. My Vega has personality. That's why she is Eleanor and not that doll in the corner. Fun and enjoyable.

    2. Just found out that PGM will make custom sized half scale dress forms for people. They offer "size" 6-8-10 as standard but you can order other sizes as custom or send measurements you want for it. Costs about $610 for custom but might be worth it if worried about damage to BJD or just not wanting to fiddle with making one....does include a very nice and sturdy adjustable stand. I will probably do that. They are very well made. I'd rather not travel with BJD, or risk damage to when doing my lectures. It would be a great way to display clothes and not worry about damage to doll.

Still, I must say I do get quite a lot of people paying a lot more attention when I do the lecture with a "little lady" modeling...

    3. I was wondering if anyone had pictures of their lovely boys next to human sized objects anyone would know the size of XD I cant grasp the size of them quite yet plus I been looking for big dolls that are good and taller then the Lusion and from what I know no one owns one of these dolls along with a Lusion.

    4. I think the DM Lusion is a different scale but not sure. Would be interesting to see though.

I am planning on getting the Lee-el female when available. I believe she will work well with historical clothing which I believe is what the DM Lusion and Trinity tend to be wearing. They look "bigger" in the pictures then the Lee-el dolls. Hard to explain but think along the line's of an 18 inch American Girl doll or even a so called lady doll of the 1900's of about 18 inches and a BJD of that height. That sort of thing. You are right to want to see them together.

    5. Yeah I only know of Leeel and Angel of dream for big 90 cm dolls that are boys. I been looking for a "father" to my Lusion so at this point I may just have to mod a Trinity :( But i want all the options first explored. and I bet others are also looking for references too but there arent any.

Wow thats a good comparison of a leeel next to a person. o.o very tall but I like the size truthfully and very realistic.

    6. Mod a BJD isn't an easy job if you have a lot to do. I don't envy you that one!

Still, sometimes it's the only way to get what you want. I had to mod my Eleanor (Soom Vega) because her neck was so long. The same with those bulges on top of thigh. Took a long time to get them off and I'm still not entirely happy with it but at least it's smooth under clothes. I'd like her upper legs a little bit shorter as well. Would look better in my opinion. But, no hurry. She's 3 cm shorter then she was as is.

The Lee-el male doll doesn't need mod from my point of view The "flaws" (to me) are easy solution with cut of clothes. Hoping the female is same thing but I am prepared to do some sanding if needed. Just hope I don't! Not my favorite thing to do!

    7. I am wondering if it will be a few months before a female is up. Also if they will offer a choice of breast size like some other doll companies do. I hope so! I prefer medium. A lot easier to design for. My sister had an Iplehouse Carina and it was medium. I thought it was a little big breasted, but not bad. And the face was lovely! My Eleanor had a few flaws but that was the only option for that big a doll and I did like her other then that. Also I knew I could fix it. After shortening her neck, fixing the upper thigh and putting slightly larger wigs on her she was much better proportioned and her bust didn't seem in the least overly large. The "glam" or I think I've seen called "model" look odd and when you put regular clothes on them make them, well, look fat. Even matronly...as in old ladyish figure. Has anyone had to modify a large breasted doll down a size? I don't mean turn into a male, but just smaller in size.

    8. Hello))) Maybe somebody knows more contacts Lee-el, except e-mail and Q&A? Also we tried to contact the user crazyapple (the dealer) , so far to no avail. The fact that we paid the last instalment for our order, but more than a week we can not contact the company to receive confirmation of receipt of money. The order status has not changed on paid . To emails we are not responsible. On the website information about the holidays or days off missing. We are a little concerned about this fact((((

    9. Wow, that's strange! I have always received a fast reply using the Q&A - less than two days for sure!
I did just recently post a review on their site for limited Alzad, and it is showing up. Reviews are not posted immediately. They are reviewed first. So, they should still be around!
I hope they reply to you soon! That is stressful!

    10. aernath,
Thanks for the response and sympathy! We also see that with the site all right, now again they haven't responded and the status has not changed. On the website the status changes to paid or not? We really hope that soon they all will answer us.

    11. Some of my payments I did the "right" way, and those did update to "Confirmed receipt". But the ones I did "wrong" (I sent the money, but clicked the wrong box on the order - I forget what the options were), the status never did update.
Also after payments were all done, they still said "Confirmed receipt"... never changed to "before shipping" or anything. Even now, they are not changed.
But still, they should answer you soon. ^_^ Write in the Q&A again. Maybe they missed your last message?

    12. I do hope you get an answer soon!

Just a note about those scale drawings in pattern envelopes. I was curious what "size" they were. I have a Butterick pattern in several sizes and the drawing is the same size in all of them.......I cut out a pattern piece size 6 and same piece drawing.....reduced pattern piece 50%.....drawing enlarged 250% then 200%.....complete match. I thought it might be.

    13. Thank you ) We already yesterday posted them on Facebook, there is still no answer. We continue to hope that they just forget to answer us. We tried to find out whether they had received the money, still has the possibility to withdraw their paypal. The first time confronted with the fact that sold just over two weeks ignores our messages. I hope that faced with this attitude, the first and last time.

    14. I ask them a question last week and they answered after two days, I think you should be getting them soon. I trust them.

    15. Don't forget they don't do replies on week ends usually...

    16. This is all the more strange that the messages of other users they are responsible, and for our silent. But we have no choice but just wait.

Due to the fact that Leeel we never answer any Q & A or by email or on Facebook are on DOA private message to dealer all paypal payments received by them, we are forced to open the problematic transaction on paypal. We wrote about it today Leeel hopefully not have to open the problematic deal.

    17. There’s not been much traffic around this thread lately, but I will try my luck anyway. So, bear with me, ok, since I have a TON of questions because I’m seriously thinking about buying Jacob.

First of all, I wonder how easy and safe it is to buy from Lee-el? (Or are there reliable dealers through whom you could place an order?). I read this thread through and the success rate seems a bit varying --- though I want to believe, that they are trustworthy and will produce a doll worth the big bucks. The ones who already own Lee-el big boys, do you think the dolls are as nice in the flesh as they are in the photos? How well do they pose? And exactly how tight are they strung? If a doll of this size were of the kicking sort, snapping limbs and head around like a madman, it would not be funny in a long run.
So, Lee-el accepts PayPal, I take it? How is the communication, do they keep you up-to-date, like providing you info on it if the payment has gone through, the doll has started production, the doll is ready, the doll is shipping?
How quickly they usually produce and ship out the 90cm guys? And how quickly the doll has reached the destination after being shipped? What shipping methods they offer, and how much the shipping has cost you?
By the way, if you want your doll in normal skin color, do you pick the option “no” in the Skin dropbox on their site? (To be precise, I am referring to Jacob’s skin colour options).

Hopefully someone has some answers for me; it would be appreciated!

    18. I was just wondering about morilll! Did you ever get a reply? Or a doll? That is so strange!

I'll answer what I can for you.
It was safe to buy when I bought mine, and morilll is the first one I have heard have a difficult time with them. No other dealers that I know of.
I can say my doll is very nice in person! Though I have to say the posing is not the best - but that is because there is no extra thigh joint that we are all used to seeing these days. He's not bad, he's just big and awkward to pose and it takes a little getting used to. Just like posing an old Soom Mecha Angel. ^_^
It has been a while, I can't remember how tightly my Alzad was strung when he arrived, but I don't remember having any problems. But then I routinely tighten or fix any stringing problems for any of my new dolls, without thinking anything of it.
No problems with any kicky limbs.
      They do accept Paypal.
Communication is so-so. My order was updated every time I made a payment correctly - I did a lay away. But the only update was "payment received". I don't recall ever getting a note about production or shipping. I finished my last payment, then waited a couple of weeks. After receiving no word, I wrote them and received a fast response that my doll was finished, but that they were expecting to add some new clothes that I might like, and if I ordered, they would ship with my doll. So I waited longer for the clothing release, ordered more clothes, and everything shipped together.
I can't tell you how fast they produce the dolls, since I did lay away.
Shipping was fast - EMS is always good. I think that was the only option. I don't recall, but shipping was likely around $100, which is to be expected with EMS and such a large box.
Yes, if you want Jacob in Normal, just click "no".

I hope this helps! I want a Jacob too! ^___^

    19. aernath, thank you for your reply! It really helps to hear all this. ^__^ Considering this, I feel good about making an order from Lee-el. Jacob really is a nice one; too bad I have not seen any owners with him. If you ever get to buy Jacob, it would be fun~

I guess it’s okay for me to say that I found out that morilll received their doll, since I saw their Ambrogio box opening on another forum yesterday when I was madly searching for information about Lee-el’s dolls. So seeing that that order went well, too, I don’t think there have been any cases of doll buying gone wrong with Lee-el. That is reassuring!
