1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Leekeworld [Limited Edition] Juwel and Croom Ent discussion

Apr 21, 2011

    1. Ugh! Just saw that Croom's news thread has been closed to discuss his on-topicness.

    2. Ok, I just posted on the Q&A and asked if I could replace the pure-rose head and torso parts with lovely B skin and if not, if it was possible to get natural blushing on Croom.

    3. Hoping you hear back soon, Hobbysue. Waiting to hear back similarly from the Q&A too as I'm also tossing up whether to go all lovely B or Fairy Green with premium membership if possible.

    4. I doubt if they'll go ALL Lovely B or Fairy Green for whatever reason, they only seem to want to cast the bottom in clear or white skin. I'm thinking the only option will be the pure rose parts. They don't seem to want to change the options with Croom. Perhaps it's because it is too difficult and in the past there were problems with custom orders?

Edit: I think every new doll/sculpt has to be approved by the moderators. He seems to be in the general look for Centaur style dolls, so hopefully he'll be allowed.

    5. It appears that they are ONLY doing Croom the way he is in the picture. No changes. Sigh.

    6. Some good news though, because I haven't used my membership gift from last year, I can buy another membership again and put all the 'funds' towards Croom so in essence I'll be buying a doll I would have bought anyway and getting another excuse to spend all my money with Leeke for the next year. Possibly not the smartest move. I've already got one doll that I didn't plan to buy because of my membership, however now that she's discontinued, I can't regret it.

    7. Right I just had an epiphany.

No it didn't hurt at all.

      Well, maybe just a bit.

      I can dye him.

The white parts on his centaur body are offending me where the blushing ends at the joints. It's so painfully obvious. I haven't dyed a doll before but it can't be that hard. I'm thinking of giving him a light brown dye to his lower parts then I can blush all the swirly bits different browns and greens. If I'm in the mood I'll give him a bit of a green tinge over the pure rose.

Then he can stalk the forest in our back paddock in style

Rather than be laughed at by the possums and bush turkeys

    8. Yes! This is one of my reasons for not getting him. I know to blush the area would mean major chipping, but as you said "it's so painfully obvious". I wonder how dying him would work out. Make sure to post if you do dye him.

    9. I think he looks gorgeous , love his coloring, just don't have the money to buy...

    10. I think I'd rather get him all done as I can't do him myself. I'm not overly fond of the blue particularly with the pure rose, but perhaps it will work well all together when he gets here. I'm flat out doing a face-up much less blushing an entire doll.

    11. I've decided to opt not to go for Croom. I think if Leeke had been open to other resin colour options I might have considered him but I otherwise have enough on my plate as far as waiting on other dolls / layaways are concerned at the moment and preparing stock for my July openings for Etsy & my main e-store are concerned. I'm going to be watching out for any arrivals though for those of you who are going for him. I'll definitely be very keen to see any owner pics!

    12. Yeah, I wish they'd allow Lovely B instead of pure rose, but nope. So I guess that I'm just going to take him as is. Pity, I was keen on the idea of a blue guy.

    13. At first I thought they would sculpt exactly what they drew. I was like 'WOAH! 8D' then I was like '>_> ;n; orz' I guess it was too much to ask since the kind of quality I was imagining was for hobby figures.
Croom seems ok, but I would have liked him with broader shoulders and a more manly face. To be honest, I was shocked to see his drafts rather far from the drawings. Being such a big man, he would need the extra support so it's logical to change a lot of stuff. An exact bjd replica of the drawing would have been magnificent though.

Maybe the body was blushed blue for water, although his legs doesn't seem to be roots.

    14. Yeah, it looks as if a tree got intimate with a horse on Pandora as far as I can tell or it would if his top part was blue. I really don't understand their colour choices and I'm semi afraid they will offer another version of him with a green top and natural blushing and I'll kick myself for having ordered this one. I will try again when I request Croom for my membership doll to see if I can get a Lovely B human parts but I doubt it. Sigh. They did say that the membership could order those skin colours though. Bummer!

    15. Any news yet about whether Croom is going to be on-topic or not?

      It's taking a while isn't it?

I sent another email to Leeke a couple of days ago this time begging them to reconsider the skin colours and also asking them to come up with another blushing scheme (well for others). They still haven't answered which is really unusual as the longest it has taken them in the past to respond is less than 24 hours. Maybe they're considering it? Well, live in hope

    16. I think a lot of people have asked for other skin colours. I'm a little bummed because I thought as a premium member that we were meant to be allowed to ask for other skin colours. I'll be testing it out because it looks as if my Clarice may be sold and if so, I'm getting Mikhaila in Lovely B on the art body. I want to see how the limited skin colours work for members. It appears we should just have to order it on the cart. I think Mikhaila might look good next to the blue horsey guy.

whitewolf: Have you checked recently - it looks as if Leeke have answered all the questions on the Q&A.

    17. That's just it...it would have finally been the one thing that tempted me to take the plunge into premium membership if it meant colour choices for Croom. However, similarly, I would love a Mikhaila in both Lovely B and Fairy Green as sisters for my Pure Rose girl. I look forward to seeing how you go if you end up getting your Lovely B Mik then, Hobbysue, and how she looks next to your growing family of gorgeous art-doll girls.

    18. Actually, she'll be the only art-doll girl I'll have here. Clarice is getting sold to pay for Mikhaila, I sold my purerose Mikhaila because I only had NS at the time and she looked rather grey to me when I saw her next to all my other dolls. Then I got a light tan girl accidentally and order a purerose Hong to go with her (incidentally, when Hong arrived I'd swear she's a much more rosey brown purerose than grey). Now I'm into colours. I've heard the Lovely B is a gorgeous colour. I've also heard that Leekeworld will be rearranging their premium memberships this month so I'm hoping to sneak her in before it all changes and the basic dolls are discontinued.

    19. Yeah they answered finally - no luck I'm afraid.

Well I like doing body blushing so I can make him my own that way.

The Lovely B is a nice colour.

Re-arranging the Premium Membership? Keep it up and I'll spend my dolly dollars elsewhere.

I'm waiting till the last possible day to order him to see if I still like him

Wonder why they haven't ruled on his being on or off-topic yet? Doesn't usually take this long does it?

    20. Yes it can take a while to decide on or off-topic as there's a group of people deciding these days.

I've ordered my membership for next year and I'm going to get Croom the way he is. The pure rose is nice. I just wanted a Lovely B person and so Mikhaila will be it.
