Leekeworld [Limited Edition] Juwel and Croom Ent discussion

Apr 21, 2011

    1. OMG, what is with their shoulder joints? :?

    2. I...really do not like her. She's NOTHING like the concept art. Why the translucent fantasy parts? She's supposed to be half tree, those parts should be opaque. And her face is...dumb. In the concept she looks kind of mean and dominatrix-like, and very cool, but the end result is very disappointing to me. And the price is insane. I thought I might order a body with the fantasy parts and then find her a more suitable head, but I'm better off trying to turn a BBB or RS doll into an ent with apoxie.

Sorry if this is negative but I was REALLY looking forward to this and it's just... severely disappointing. :(

    3. No worries!!
I pretty much agree entirely.... They are sort of digging themselves into a hole by posting such amazing concept art and then the doll...

I do really like the body though, and I luuurv the purerose skin, so I think I will try to latch on to someone else's order and just get myself a body and then find a head someday. I was going to go for the fantasy parts too...but... the price is too sky high for me right now!

    4. Wow x'D They look kinda retarded in this picture x'D
      ...

I think that LeekeWorlds artists and sculpers should communicate better ^^'

    5. I was pretty intrigued by the concept art, but the final doll looks kind of... bland in comparison. The fantasy parts would have worked better in an opaque resin, and the armour better in leather or something. It's disappointing to see yet another female doll with a very young, 'sweet' face sculpt. I know that's what a lot of doll collectors like, but it would be nice to see more companies willing to try something a bit more mature (and by mature I mean adult faces, not large breasts - there are plenty of those around already) with their female dolls and the concept art for the Juwel Ent looked like a perfect opportunity for that. I mean, she's certainly very pretty but she doesn't really look like an Ent to me.

    6. I definitely agree with you all.
I don't think she is as amazing as she could have been based on the concept art.
I was expecting a mature darker face for sure, and it's definitely disappointing that we're not getting that.

At the same time though, I love the transparent parts much more than I would have opaque parts (I love translucent resin!), and the new body is beautiful (though there are some gaping joint issues, but the Mikhaila art body has that too).
I just wish she had a more mature face.

I do like her a lot though, but she's SO expensive that it's a hard decision when I'm not sure if I'm sold on the head sculpt yet.
Plus, big dolls and I don't really get along very well!

    7. I just realized that the fantasy parts aren't even included!
We have to pay extra for them. x___x
I knew the armor was extra but for some reason thought the ent parts were included.
      Wow she is expensive. x___x

    8. Personally, the head is the major thing I like about her. I prefer the Human head. I'd be happy just getting an all human version. I don't think I'd want to spend the $654 for face-up, wig etc though. She's pretty, but not major love and I'd rather save and see what Croom looks like.

    9. i LOVE the human version... if you isolate her from the concept art completely. i mean, seriously, as a stand-alone doll, she is amazing. definitely girly and flouncy, especially when she's in the slip. i think her body shape is to die for.

as an ent... i'm sorry. no. if i was into fantasy dolls and had the money to fork out, my money would go to soom.

as it is, this round, my money is with mikhaila.

    10. Eeeep! The little fairy is for the 10 first costumers! x'D unfair! unfair I tell ya!

    11. Well. The disconnect between that amazing art and the actual doll is utter fail from my perspective. HOWEVER! If they offered just the elf head on its own I'd be in line instantly. I could love an elf who looked like that (and I really like the shots with the blue blushing on the ears). She'd be such an excellent addition to my elf family!

But the body needs work. I'd have to put her on something else. It's not that I don't like the shape - it's intriguing - but it needs serious engineering work before I'm going to shell out big money for it.

    12. She's interesting -- I like her ent parts, but I'm not a big fan of her armor. However, I think her real strength is just as a human. I really like her head and body a lot (especially the body), she's just lovely -- especially the picture of her in PR Skin with the brown wig. Hypothetically speaking, if I were to buy her it would be without the fantasy stuff.

    13. I too, am very disappointed, this is so different from what I got from the concept art... and I was hoping there'd be an option to at least switch heads like the littler ones.

I definitely want that little fairy though!

    14. I actually really like the opal ent head, those ears and colours are :aheartbea
She's too big for me sadly, but this means I can keep trying to get mikhaila and not be distracted by awesome dryad.

    15. I rather liked the opal Ent head as well. Definitely digging the ears. <3

Otherwise, I agree with many of the other posters - using translucent resin for the parts just makes them look kind of shiny and weird, and not at all tree-like. I think the face is sweet and lovely, but I can really see where people could have been hoping for something else entirely based on the concept art.

I knew I wasn't going to be able to afford her anyway, and although I think her face and body shape are lovely, I'm kind of glad she turned out this way so I don't feel so much regret.

    16. I agree with Baakay, as a standalone doll she looks good, but, compared to the wonderful concept we all got... Well, I wasn't going to afford her either, especially not as she is an SD, so I'm pretty relieved.

It feels a bit disappointing though, even if she really looks good and would fit splendidly with the small ents, she looks pretty bland compared to other SD's, and how she *could* have turned out. Then again, I didn't really like how her body looks on most of the pictures either.
There are two pictures, however, of Opal lying down in full armor, where she looks fantastic.

And one could remod the face a bit so she wouldn't look so cutesy.
Agh, why am I trying to convince myself? :<

    17. Oh man. I'm in the boat of 'Liked the concept art, don't like the doll.' It really does look like the sculptors just got a glance at the concept art and then went from there.

Also, anyone else notice that the little bitty fairy looks like Tinkerbell with that bun? I hope that somehow it magically looks a LOT different in person/close up, but... From the pictures they show, it looks like they used Tinkerbell's look.

    18. i loved the concept, but seriously, whats with the face? ><
but something is wrong right? I just sent in an order & my payment invoice is only USD$150. (O_o)

    19. My boyfriend saw her... He is okay into dolls, and he was like; " o.o ... Why is her boobs hanging? XD " then I showed him the nude pictures, and he saw that they didn't hang x'D eheheh... lol... Also the "panty" in the armor set... Why does it stop there? In the middle of her butt, why not cover the hole crack...? XD

She got a lot of meat on her :) and I really think that is nice ^__^ I really hope that Leeke will use that body some more in the future :) (And with a more matured face x'D)

    20. She's not as bad as I thought she'd be! I think an edgier face-up would make her look cruel and cool. Gah! I HOPE that isn't the gap between shoulder and ball socket...

Anyone else LOL at the Lady Gaga tree shoes? And I think NOT offering her in tan is a huge mistake when she is supposed to be a tree.
