Leekeworld [Limited Edition] Juwel and Croom Ent discussion

Apr 21, 2011

    1. I am waffling back and forth, which has shocked me.

I see what everyone's seeing with this girl, and yet underneath there is this huge dollop of promise. As expensive as it would be, I'm sorely tempted to get her with blank Enty-bits, and no body blushing, to try and work something out, something really super-blushed and woodsy and Entish. I do like her face tremendously when I consider her apart from the conception art, so I'm putting that to one side. I do want different eyes as well, large and slightly luminescent.

I just think she could be so amazing with some work...dammit Leeke, I had put her solidly behind me, but I really think she is a daring step for them, even with some gappy joints and a not-mature head, which I would've been astounded to see from them in any case. :sweat There's no way I can swing a Fly Mikhaila and her, so I am going to sit my little ole self back and do some heavy thinking. The tan option would've been killer, and I desperately hope Croom comes with a tan option at the very least.

    2. I'm almost tempted to do a sort of "redrawn" version of her concept art, just to see if I would become more interested in her :o (even if I still can't buy her, some others might get my inspiration yanno? xP)

Because, like heidipay says, she has a lot of hidden potential beneath the first "disappointment" >.<

    3. She's REALLY EXPENSIVE. But, I can see why. All of those extra bits and that elaborate blushing. Plus, I really like her figure. I think if I did order one, I might ask for a different head to go with. The one she comes with is cute, but kinda... square. For my personal tastes. Seeing one in public I wouldn't be all YOUR DOLL HAS A SQUARE HEAD LULZ. But- imagine the boy with Sora or EDGAR topping it off. Ohohohoh~.

If I can figure out where on earth to put her between now and June 30th...

    4. I don't think redrawn concept art should hurt at all...as long as you post it up so the rest of us can see! ;) I'm not an artist by any stretch, but I blame this all squarely on Uncanny Dreams, which has me thinking way outside the box. I know what's in my head couldn't be done justice, but there's no harm in trying...right? :D

    5. I find myself coming back to her over and over too... She's just gorgeous... those ears and hips and breasts are calling me... so different and REAL. But that price... and not to mention I'm not into SDs... Oh hurry end of the month so her order period is over and I won't be tempted! haha

    6. Even tho she is way out of my price range, I think she is pretty. She looks more like an earth elemental than a tree being. My only disappointment is that the dangling flowers on the head did not translate to the doll. If I had the money I'd get one with Opal parts and wig and Spinel faceup and armor.

    7. This is making me terrified that Crom is going to come out too soon for me to get... If so, I'm hopping he will be a real let down...

    8. I love the idea of a wand-girl. That is very creative. :) She is very 'arty'. Even the joints strike me as having a certain art doll flair. The natural shape of her body is just delightful. There really is a lot to like about her. (Except that half panty thing... that is just wrong.)

She is a doll I wish I could see in person before deciding. Largely to determine the effect of her fantasy parts in RL.

    9. The Wand girl idea is lovely. Besides her shoulders the other joints really didn't bother me.

    10. Last night I decided I was going to be strong and pass on her.. today I want her again.
The fact that she's much too expensive remains though... x_x

    11. She's so expensive but she's a good job Leeke doll. I really love the new body which look more mature than old Leeke-L type body, that sexy hip rocks!!!!!!

    12. No chance that, like with Soom, Midnitestar7 will be able to go to the store and get us piccies of this lady. :( It's going to be down to people asking Leeke for specifics, maybe? :( With me, it's not so big a deal, as I can't afford her, even if she is a perfect magic wand! Btw, I'm not really bothered by the peekaboo panties. Certainly, you can put standard panties under the armour as well though. I think the design of the armour is meant to be unusual. It really helped me grasp that these Ents aren't humans with human considerations. Plus, it helped me imagine sticking a modified wig on a magnet to give a mostly human copy of her a horse-tail (this would be for another character entirely). Guh -- got off track, Sirius-chan! Point is, Leeke has been doing some artsy/risque stuff lately, aimed at being visusally arresting. I think, if you look at Fly Mikhaila's futuristic super-hero outfit, you'll see the same trend. I'm convinced it's also what got us the unusual shape of some of these dolls. I feel like they're trying to push the envelope of their creativity some. :)

I hope you never change that avatar pic, btw. I totally love your dolls. :)

    13. Oh, you! You have an Adamelli coming! If you get this Ent, I'll have to go over there and sack your apartment for dolls. Lol! Pity you can't get pictures of Juwel Ent first hand in the shop, yeah? I'd love to see her in person. I'll just have to hope someone brings her to the next Uncanny Dreams meet-up.

    14. I think people would have liked her more if Leeke hadn't released the concept art for her that made us expect something completely different. She does have a lot of good points, but it's hard to pay attention when you're too busy going back and forth trying to see how this = that. And she looks more like a tree fairy or maybe a dryad than an ent.

    15. She's an SD, right? So she seems pretty reasonably priced for an SD. Maybe too high if she's actually an MSD and I read wrong...

But I also think the joints are weird. Especially the leg joints. The way they jut out (Which may be to keep her 'locked' so she won't fall when she's in heels) means she probably can't sit flat very easily. You'd have to pop the joints out and push them into hole if it worked at all, as opposed to a smooth transition. (That's how my hoof girls with locking joints have to be posed.)

Unfortunately, count me in the 'too different from concept art to want' camp. She looks like she has an attitude in the concept art, but the doll that actually came out is just generically sweet. She could have been any Leeke doll, I was hoping for a girl with a strong personality in her face.

    16. The only thing that is worrying me is it seems not too many people are getting her, which means she is going to be super hard to find on the second hand market. I wish I had a money tree so I could get her as my first doll but I don't and by the time I have enough money she'll be long gone.

    17. Leeke does have a layaway plan, so you might want to keep in mind that if you can collect the money for the downpayment and then do the rest along the way, you may still have a chance at her. Prices on the secondary market, once you have access to the MP on DOA, may not be cheaper. ;)

    18. I do have to admit I did like the idea of the Little Fairy...its a pitty it was only available to the 1st 10 buyers. I think that was one idea that was done well here.

    19. When I saw the first concept art with her and the fairy together, I just assumed the fairy she was holding was supposed to be Kiel. I was kinda surprised it was a different fairy figure and that they had such a limited run on it.

    20. I am ever so sad about the little tiny fairy. I don't do SDs but how I'd have loved one! Even if I ever did find it on the market I can't imagine how expensive it'd be x-x
