Asked Leeke if one could have both of the horn choises and pay extra, but apparently they won't go that far ^^

Aww, too bad about not getting the extra horns. I ended up getting two dolls, each with different horns, so I can make my final decision on who gets what once they arrive. ^^;

And ack. What a response. D: I expect my mum would say the same, though, if I showed her.

 

Zarkadi: that was not a very nice thing to say. my mom says she look cute but is not so interested.

 

Mmmm... I kinda think that IS a problem with the way Leeke chose to photograph them, though. It wasn't a bunch of clothed dolls and then the standard 'Oh, and here's what the nude body looks like' shots near the end, it's all a bunch of nekkid dolls.

I kinda get that they're going for free forest spirits/fairies, and hence the reason for not dressing them... but I can also see the 'looks like child porn' side of it. Normally I spam all my friends with 'THIS IS MAH NEW DOLLIE!' links, but I haven't done that with the ents because I don't want to put out a link where my friends might see it and go 'Uh... your new doll is into nude child photography??' They probably won't get to see her until she's home and into an outfit.

I mean, I'm specifically getting the ent body because I want a curvy, mature tiny to wear adorable fitted clothing and corsets, so I'm not complaining about how the body looks. I'm just wishing they'd put at least a little bikini top and loincloth on them for the photos.

Or at least included a few clothed pics so I could send them to friends to be like "new doll, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay." But I'm not sending people who aren't in the fandom nude doll pics, I don't want to be misunderstood in my intentions.

 

I think it's the breast and the blushing that does it, and I agree that she's supposed to be an ageless wood spirit, but, yeah, some loincloth and/or creative ways to use scenery (leaves and flowers covering their parts xP) wouldn't be unwelcome x3

I'm probably going to sand her when I get her, hence probably buy her without body brushing. That leaves me with clear resin-parts, wonder what would be best, brush them with pastels or try to find myself an airbrush >__< Mwoh.

But yeah, was posting a picture on a public website and had to cut it so her breasts wouldn't show xD I don't mind that much, I didn't even notice the "dirtiness" in the picture, but others probably will :<

 

True about the nekkid pics of the ents making some people thinking they are kiddy porn, but on the other hand they are fae and nekkid is pretty common among them LOL. I just don't show any of my new dolls to my friends (clothed or otherwise) since I usually get the "uuuh sure ok, why do you want such an expensive doll?"

It is a bit of a shame that you can't get both types of horns if you are willing to pay more but Leeke has really gone out of their way in almost everything else. I'm just hoping that if I manage to get one (not sure at all) that somebody will be willing to sell their fantasy parts (heck even if I don't get one of these the horns and wings would look great on the D bodies). Not sure if the leg parts would fit but it would be sweet if they did then I could have a little sister to these

 

I hate close minded and prudish people. It's fantasy and faeries are normall depicted in the nude. Actually, most fey are. Look at the nymphs in greek mythology. I think people look to far into thing. And considering "child pornography" look at Renissance depictions of cherubs in classical paintings. Leeke wanted to pose the dolls in the nude so you the buyer know what you are getting and to show off that beautiful body blushing. Seriously if your self concious about this doll, don't buy it. I proudly showed my ents to my mother and she said she was absolutely beautiful. Then again my mom loves my dolls and is into fantasy as much as I am.

 

I have 2 MSDs and 1 YoSDs but the only doll my mom loves is the YoSD one because she said the MSDs look too real for her (that's why I'm not allowed to have SDs T^T).

I havn't tell her my plan of buying Kiel (and must be a tan!!!) yet as I have to order it myself borrowing her credit card ^^", still planing on how to ask her. But she did saw me open the webpage already and she comments on pure rose skin that it looks like a vampire skin as she thinks it's more like grey than light purple (may be just my monitor went wrong XD)

I forgot to add, if a company does not post pics of the naked body there are two million people asking for them. I do not have a problem with how Leeke did the pictures of the ents at all, but yes I can see some people considering it kiddy porn (though these are the same that think a shot of a newborn right after birth is kiddy porn)

but i don't think leekes pics are so bad. there are a lot pictures of naked angel children in art there are worse.

 

Ya know, I wrote up a HUGE response and then went 'That belongs in Dolly Debate, not the happy squee ent threads.'

So the teal deer version: I think the ent body is gorgeous, and my girl's gonna show it off once I have her with form-fitted outfits. And the blushing is amazing, even though I won't personally be getting it because there isn't a blush that fits what I have in mind for her. But the pictures are problematic because there **are** certain cultural standards/perceptions, and we can't just bulldoze over them because we're certain we're in the right. If I posted that link out of the blue on twitter, I WOULD get people questioning if I was into naked children.

I'm still wishing at least SOME of them had been clothed, like the ones that aren't there specifically to show different blushing schemes, so I could link them to your average non-ABJD fan and not have 'Why did you link me to naked children?!' as the response.

So yeah, it's tempting to go 'Well, anyone who sees is that way is just wrong-headed,' but that's never changed a cultural bias. I think explaining 'Well, they're nude because they're individually painted, and the nudes each show a different painting scheme' would go a lot farther than 'You're a prude' if you're facing the prospect of showing them off to someone outside of the fandom.

 

For me, I think it would be more of an issue if the bodies weren't mature - they have boobs, a tapered waist and hips that flare back out, so to me it doesn't register as a child doll (there's a side-by-side shot of the gentle body next to their standard body that really highlighted that for me).

I'm wondering if the issue here stems from the fact that they have the sweet/innocent face sculpts, or that dolls in this size range are typically depicted as very young children?

...I think I'm verging into debate territory here as well, so I'll leave it at that for now.

That being said, I do wish that they had photographed a few in clothing though, so I'd have at least a vague idea of what will look good on her body shape! Sewing for her's going to be a challenge for sure.

 

yes it would be nice to see some in clothing. i hope the set i have sewed fits.

Yeah, it'll be interesting once they start rolling in to see what really does/doesn't fit them. I imagine they'll fit most Yo-SD outfits, they might just be kinda baggy in the middle.

I can't wait to give my girl a gypsy outfit with tiny beads on her scarf, some steampunk outfits with corsets, perhaps a false-corset lace-back reinaissance gown... she's going to look so good in so many outfits my chunkier tinies couldn't pull off!!

 

Woah! I did not even think of that angle! (and I had been secretly looking at them at work! ... I wonder what my co-workers thought lol!)I didn't register her as a child at all! and I don't really see the "porn" aspect either... leeke could have been a bit more creative with the photography (obsuring bits with foliage) for some shots but if they do that too much, as a potential buyer I just think "AH! I just want to see it's body, maybe they're hiding some flaw or something?!" but it would have been nice to have some clothing offered...

My mum was partly the encouragement for me to buy one, her reaction when I showed her: "Oooh wow! They're beautiful! Are you gonna get one!?" And now she's giving me tips and ideas for clothes lol!

I plan to give my girl extensive body-art; (Gold floral/tribal tattoos) so I don't really want to cover all that pretty (and time consuming) work with clothes; buut I do have a couple of outfits in mind for her that are revealing but not trashy (a fine like to walk lol!) like others have said, this body needs a corset!

Yay!!! I finally got to order my two! I ordered Kiel in pure rose with wine body blushing and aurora parts, and then Soda in snow skin with peach blushing and pastel blue parts. I'm so excited! I wish I could get another in tan skin, but i'm holding out for a tan bambicrony tiny.

 

Looking at their policy page, it looks like any order over $200 qualifies for layaway, and any payment plan can be chosen for an order on layaway.

 

To Zarkadi: Sewing is easy if you just think of everything in terms of squares, rectangles, and circles. I can make an entire wa-lolita outfit out of various sized rectangles. I'm thinking she'll look fabulous in a gypsy-esque-belly-dance-inspired outfit with those curvy-curves of hers. And they're super easy to make: If you can live with a scarf top instead of a fitted bra top, all rectangles!

What were you thinking? I'd be interested to hear. ^_^ I was kinda thinking my girl and her ember-demon friend would dress kinda like festies, because hey, a fairy and a demon. How much more fest could you get?? And of course steampunk because how could I resist an opportunity to put a corset and a bustle on that cutie??

ETA: Say, does anyone know if the text that's with the pictures has been posted anywhere where it's read-able? I can barely make out some of the bigger words, but I'm curious as to what it says.

 

Well, mostly I was just going "Ooh, corsets and steampunk", but she would look lovely in a slightly modded slave-Leia outfit, if you make it more tribal with leaves, feathers and leather, and perhaps a cloth you tie around her bosom instead of the bikini.
Though, as for me, I will probably make her into a lost summer-spirit, and give her transluctent layered cloths.

But the gypsy-bellydancer look would look gorgeous on her, I believe
