1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. You've just opened up your home (and your wallet) to 16 new dolls! Congrats!

    2. "Just two more dolls, then I'm finally done" except I know I'll keep an eye on new releases and eventually something I like enough to buy will come along. And I'll always jump at the chance to buy a doll I missed out on a long time ago that's impossible to find.

So... two more and then I'm kind of done.

    3. I will only have a few maybe… a few months later I was buying a whole huge cabinet… to then tell myself I will only have as many as I can fit inside this ONE cabinet… Now considering getting another one once we move hopefully into a house with more space lol … Oh and “I will not exceed 20” I am laughing hard now at this one lol  :dance

Jepp, same here and I got 6 doll chateau dolls now… and I REALLY want more lol They are so beautiful!!! But I do have boys and girls :)

    4. "After this, no more new dolls!"

"Okay, this time no more new dolls!"

"Alright, alright. No more new clothes then!"

      "No more new wigs!"

      "No more new eyes?"

"...I probably won't buy any more shoes..."

    5. "These are enough clothes for now."

yet every week at work I fill up my etsy cart with new goodies.

    7. 1. Only one doll!!! (I have 3.)
      2. The dolls will have their outfit, wig and one pair of eyes - and that's it. (You don't wanna know.)
      3. I will restring them every 6 months. (No matter how hard I try, I cannot restring them alone and I don't have help.)

    8. I wont buy pet dolls, they so cute but they're really exspensive for what they are and the lack of posing would frustrate me *about a quarter of my doll collection is now pet dolls*

I will downsize my collection! *my collection just keeps getting larger*

As the outfits for some of my dolls is stuff you can't buy, i'll make them myself *4 years later still haven't done it*

    9. 1. I’ll finally buy my one neglected doll that outfit I’ve been staring intently at for several months (buys doll that has the most clothes even more instead)(pays for new face up for neglected doll- still no clothes) TBF he at least isn’t naked, just dressed in something he’d never wear in canon lol
      2. I’ll restring the doll that I strung too tightly and restring the ones that came too loose (nope- I have restrung a handful of times and hate it/am a procrastinator).
      3. I’ll buy stands for my dolls- so their butts aren’t fused to the cabinet where they’ve been sitting.

    10. Okay that's way too relatable. I have a doll who has a lethal combination of proportions that fit like 3-4 dresses I have, 2 of which actually suit her character. Instead of getting her clothes, I'm planning a Mandarake order for Aura, who has so many clothes, and her sister who arguably is the only doll with more clothes than her. but here we are.

I also have a body I have to superglue the locking mech back into, and restring because she snaps all over the place. I got that body last summer.

    11. "I'll definitely send you out for a faceup this year...I WILL FINISH YOU!!!"
lol I've been very bad at actually doing that. Partly because I'm so picky and partly because I end up buying something else with the money I saved aside for that.

    12. "I will not impulse buy anymore dolls." I thought about Dream Valley's Rubin for less than a day before I decided to get him.:doh

    13. "I'm going to focus on my antiques for a while and leave BJDs alone."

I love my antique doll friends, but there's just a more consistently active community for BJDs that keeps sucking me back in. You can do more with customizing, too. While antique dolls are fun to sew/craft for, any customization beyond that and maybe replacing a damaged wig is out. Plus, I can take even a very expensive BJD out for photos without worrying about destroying a piece of history. One still has to be careful, of course, but...I just wouldn't feel quite as guilty if a modern doll got damaged, somehow. Still heartbroken, but less like I was the weak link in over a century of caretakers.

"I'll only have one, and never sell her!"

Cut to: 10 years and four dolls bought and sold later (including my first). I'm a bit of a revolving door collector, it turns out.

    14. "I won't be buying any more dolls until I've moved and have more space!" - she thought to herself while placing another order.

    15. Just one girl... and then came the second... :aeyepop:

No dolls with fantasy skin tone (and I bought a rosy brown)

This is the last, no more dolls! (and then i got 2 more dolls)

Just msd... sure sure... I have pukifee, yosd and sd :dance

    16. I think I'm just going to add one and spread out the existing crew a little rather than hunting for two and getting a posse of new dolls to fill them.

It turns out that IKEA has discontinued both my Hemnes display cabinets and their matching bookcases... And the only ones I've managed to find for sale from resellers are now all so vastly over-priced that I'd actually have guilt spending THAT MUCH money on a pair of them.

One I can call a from-me-to-me birthday splurge.
      Two? Yikes. Too much.

So maybe not quite as dire a lie as it could have been...

    17. That I won't buy another doll. I don't like feeling overwhelmed by too much stuff and that includes dolls and doll items but sometimes I think another doll will fit in nicely with what I already have.

That once I've finished collecting everything I currently want that will be it.

    18. I am going to stick to this ONE size (1/6th) and that is it, gets a bunch of 1/8th size dolls and isn't happy and sells all but one of them.
I will stick with just 1/6th from now on, gets a 1/3 and a few 1/4 dolls and surprise surprise isn't happy with them, sells them and says AGAIN I am going to stick to 1/6th and that is it!!
When will I listen to myself?! I know myself very well but yet I always think, well maybe this time or this doll will be different, it rarely ever is different and then I lose money selling a doll I just bought. My husband says we just like to waste money and I do feel guilty, but how do you know for sure whether you will like something or not?!
(My favorite dolls are ones I took a chance on, and the one I wanted the most ended up being my least favorite sculpt of them all! So there is no way to know until I have it! Oh how I struggle.)
Okay okay, obviously size does matter to me so I get a different 1/6th scale doll but waiting takes patience so I buy the same doll in a different skin tone because it is in stock NOW. I like the doll, but I don't love her as much as my other 1/6th dolls. Now I still have the other one coming and I am debating do I keep one or sell both?
I also get hung up on numbers. I don't like having too many and I didn't want duplicate sculpts but I want different skin tones of my favorite sculpt. I had one that I sold and want to get another one, at least I KNOW I will love that one. I said no more fantasy colored dolls because they are too tough for me to find clothes I like on them, but this fantasy skin tone was easy because it is gray and everything worked with it so why not?!
ARGH just typing this out I feel like I am ridiculous :XD:

    19. It's the last one :yawn:chomp:
