1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Limhwa 43cm (Leda & Sujan) Discussion Part 1

Sep 22, 2010

    1. That sounds like a good plan. The beading elastic should work at least for a few months. It may even be very similar to the bjd elastic.

    2. So I restrung the arms of my new Leda and it's definitely better but I'm going to have to re-do it because she's still too loose. I wasn't sure how tight to do it and I'm still learning but at least she can pose for photos better now. I also tried a new wig on her. I really am enjoying her a lot :)

    3. It seems that Limhwa Leda is not a very well-known doll, since this thread is very quiet. I'm going to keep posting though, in case someone down the road is looking for info on this girl. I think that she has an absolutely beautiful body and her face is quite unique. I can't stop trying different wigs and clothes on her. She's so photogenic!

    4. Your Leda is lovely @Hmac58! Leda is one of my favourites! Here's my girl. It's a really old picture... I should take more photos of her. The poor girl is feeling neglected!

    5. Thank you @Aeilia. I love your Leda - she looks gorgeous with red hair and that green sweater. It's so nicely made and looks like such a perfect fit. Did you knit it yourself?

    6. Aww thanks so much @Hmac58! Yes, I did knit her sweater. :blush I really enjoy knitting for my girls.

    7. I've just bought a Limhwa Sujan and hope to see her next week (she's just coming from Nevada). I'd love to have something she would wear when she gets here. I also like to knit for my dolls and wondered if you had a pattern for that hoodie sweater - it's so cute.

    8. Hi Violet Kidd. Congratulations on your Sujan! The Limhwa ladies are so beautiful, I'm sure you'll love her. This is the pattern that I used. It's sized for Minifee, but fit Leda really well. DOA member Wovenflame is the designer. Her patterns are available on Ravelry and through her Etsy shop. This is a wonderful hoodie pattern. I love that you can put it on feet first, because the body will easily fit through the neck hole.

    9. Thank you so much. She's in the mail now. I can't wait to meet her. I've never seen a Limhwa doll in real life.

    10. I hope she arrives quickly for you. Enjoy your new girl.

    11. She's here! Now I need to find some patterns for clothes that will fit her. My MSD clothes are too small and my JID clothes are too big. Any suggestions?

This is the first dress I've made from a pattern I drafted from measurements. It might not be as good as I think it is, because I really can't see. I made the dress within hours of cataract surgery and couldn't see where I was cutting or if the thread actually went through the needle. But both my doll and I are happy with it.

    12. It looks lovely on her! I love the print!

    13. Thank you. I really must praise my wonderful friend Susan who gave me that fabric (along with a HUGE box of other fabric). She's a quilter so it was all fat quarters. By piecing a bit, I was able to get this dress out of one fat quarter.

    15. You say it might not be as good as you think, but that's one of the most beautiful dresses I've ever seen! She's such a pretty doll, your dress making really suits her :)
