1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Limhwa 57 Girls discussion: Half Elf, Human, Eva, Dreaming Half Elf

Nov 15, 2007

1. My Sable ( Eva ) can stand in shoes and without, I just have to take my time with her, because she can. She does lean to one side when I sit her down so I have to make sure that when I do sit her down that her butt scoops are in place and her thigh slits have the string running thru then I have to lean her upper torso bust forward so that once I bend her knees she will sit properly. All this just to sit her down can be a challenge in itself*_*, but so worth it.

2. Photosharing of all of these girls has been moved to the BJDopedia,

[thread=275620]Here's a link![/thread]

3. Hubby said I can get a new girl!!! I've decided she's going to be a Limwha half-elf, now I just have to wait for the next order period...

4. Well..i'm probably gonna mod my Half elfs lips.
It just looks like most Limhwa owners aren't the mod kind of persons.
Most of them have standaard faceups or faceups done by artist.

I have bought mine to be a character that has been 2 other doll molds in the passed.
And she needs to resemble her old mold but then the realistic version XB
So thats why.

5. Well, I modded my girl's body... her nipples are smoother now and I modded her hips so she could pose better... But the face I never thought of any mod, because I created the character based on the mold, so I would never mod my girl's face XD all I do is a custom faceup with a talented artist here in Brazil

6. Wow, I look forward to seeing your mods. I just really love my girls the way they are, but with that said, I plan on modding her hip joint so she'll set better.

Yia

7. These probably are all stupid questions... but what exactly are ordering periods? If once can't order during an ordering period, why can you still place an order? @_@

When ordering, how have you all done it? xD Isn't dollfair the representative for Limhwa? I can't find the ordering place for Limhwa on dollfair.com, only on limhwa.com

Last question (sorry!), do you know if Limhwa accepts layaway?

x3 thanks for dealing with my silly questions <3

8. mPy: I'll take some shots of my girl once I have new batteries for my cam... So you can see the mods ^^

Christie: Hello! The ordering periods are times that the studion opens for ordering their dolls, and after the period ends, the artist starts to work on all the dolls that were ordered. I guess you can order a doll at limhwa.com and your order will be placed together with the next ordering period... I don't know if Limhwa accepts layaway, as I know they don't have any payment system for layaway, but you can always ask this question at the Limhwa Yahoo Group... just search for Limhwa at yahoo.com and there you will find all the info you need ^__^

9. When I asked about layaway before the response was that you could make payments on your doll until the end of the ordering period (which is undefined at this moment). There isn't a true layaway system. I asked last summer so this may have changed but I don't think so.

10. I got my Limhwa half elf in yesterday.
But she has a crack in her torso joint.

Trying to get dollfair to send me a new torso atm now.

But to everyone that ordered a Limhwa last order period, check your dolls trough and trough when you get them out of the box ^__^'

11. Naiara is she French Resin or Urethane?? I better check my Eva's back as well.

12. Urethane.
It's actually on her chest at the front between her ribs :/
The resin there is very thin..as well as the resin of her knees.
So i don't think it will matter of what resin type they are made.

13. Yeah I did notice the thin like resin on my girls knees as well, I keep hoping nothing will happen to her. That is the only place I have noticed on my girl so far.

14. My Bella has been radically modded. She's a far cry from her original face. Like a fool I didn't realize when I ordered her as a Dreaming Half Elf that I wouldn't be able to abide not seeing her eye color. Here's her near-original face, & her most recent:

[IMG] [IMG]

Mods: eyes opened; bridge of nose narrowed; slight hollows below cheekbones; slight smile; fingers repositioned; toes separated; ears pierced.

I sincerely hope the artist doesn't mind; no offense was meant. I just ... needed in the end to have her smile & to see her eyes. Limhwas are about the most beautiful of all sculpts there are, IMO, & I do hope to get a Luna - if I ever have the money & there's an open order period at the same time. This time I know what I need/want/look for, although I don't regret Bella's mods a nanoparticle because they make her truly OOAK.

15. o.o she looks like a minimee... no ofense, it's just that I felt she's really different from the original mold.. great job there

16. I realize that this is a bit old but my Half Elf also had that issue, I just painted in some creamy-white nail-polish so she didn't look bruised anymore. I think her decollete area is also a bit thin, as it can look "bruised" as well.
I half wonder if it was some additive to the resin that makes it look as pale and like french resin as it does, that makes these spots happen. My Mano is also urethane and looks a lot more yellow than my girl (though he hasn't yellowed a bit as far as I can see) but also lacks that thinness anywhere.

My main issue was that her faceplate doesn't lock. I think I'll try proper modding when I'm back home from school.
Currently she's stuck together with hot glue and double sided tape (to keep her wig on XD). I did bring the issue to LimHwa (so no one else ends up with it hopefully) but I chose not to send her back as I just wanted my doll, and with some sanding and apoxy work she should be fine. Ah, it'll be an adventure :) Can't wait for my Mano to get back from his repaint to get some pics of my LimHwa couple <3.

17. Well, I have this faceplate issue too... The first time I got my girl off the box... I made her sit, but I couldn't immagine the faceplace wasn't securely locked, so her face flew away and fell on the ground @.@ I almost went green... almost lost my heart, but everything was fine. My other Limhwa girl didn't have this problem, so I couldn't think it could happen... Now I always hold her faceplate with an adesive tape...

18. *Jumps into the conversation*

I have been deciding between weather to a Narae, which I already have one, or a Limhwa Eva. I’m really leaning towards Limhwa.
Do all limhwa dolls have the faceplate problem, or is it just a every-so-often occurrence in the production? Or are some molds just more stable like human vs. Half-elf?

19. I'm really not sure ghost reflection. It seems most everyone got a "good" doll while Yunachan and I have experienced a "lemon". I know with my Mano, everything was perfect. If Yuna's doll that has this is also Half Elf then I'd be willing to bet that one of the molds for Half Elf has the tendency for this to happen.

I haven't searched through the thread much to see if anyone has had the problem with their dolls, so I can't say for sure. Though it seems most are ok and I imagine I could have sent her head back to LimHwa and gotten a replacement if I'd been willing.

I hope that having notified them, that something will be done so this doesn't occur again, it really is a matter of quality control, since it's pretty clear that the head doesn't stay on (much like Yuna, I pulled my girl out of the box only to have her face fly to the floor).

20. I know that when I got my Eva she came to me with a chip in her head back, and I was upset, but got it replaced ( NOTE: Limhwa glues the metal bar to the head back!) I had to unstring my Eva from the feet in order to send back with the strings attached. I sent the pics to Dollfair to prove that she came to me this way. All is good now, her faceplate stays on, however if she puts her head down too far it can slip out of place some. So far it does not fall off, oh and do check the magnets often, I had hubby use epoxy to glue back one in.
