thought id share a picture of Rosie, my half elf...she looks so different with a dark blue wig! (shes usually a red head)


i have both a half elf and a luna...i love my limhwa girls

 

She is truly lovely with that wig on!

 

bluh, limhwa are so bad at posing xD or is it just me who really s*cks?
i think their joints are kinda weird... :/

Yeah, the posing is really bad

My girl loves to either curve sharply to the side or stick her butt straight back with a major arch to her backside...ARGH! I'm planning on sueding her pretty soon, so hopefully that will help. I didn't really get her for her posing abilities though, so it's really not that big of a deal to me since her beauty definitely makes up for it

 

While they're no Minifee when it comes to posing, I wouldn't say the posing is bad or terrible per-say (I've handled a lot worse posers), but it does take a little getting used to. Sueding will really help with the posing issues. After I sueded my Half Elf it was so much easier to get her to sit and stand and do a few other things.

 

I'd say they are limited at posing, but my girl is very stable while standing. I think sueding will help a lot and I'm going to put in an extra magnet to keep the face-plate from falling off.

Great to know that sueding helps out a lot! I think I'll do the same thing as Muisje and add an extra magnet to my girl's FP...it tends to want to pop off whenever her head is down...eek!

 

My To-L and Limho Mono don't have the face-plate falling off problem, but my girl does. I have two heads (Eva en dreaming half elf) and both face-plates fall off when the head moves down. So I guess it's a thing reserved for the girls, but a strong magnet should fix the problem.

I haven't found a way to keep the legs from spinning around. That's what gives me the most posing problems at the moment. That and the locking mechanism in the upper legs that should help my girl sit isn't working properly. It works fine on my boys, so I'm thinking about modding my girl's legs a bit.
Just like WillowRain said, I didn't get my girl for her posing abilities. She looks stunning.

 

It's funny 'cause I was just discussing her posing issues yesterday with a friend of mine who also has a half elf. She actually stopped her leg spinning problems all together by sueding her legs. My older Half Elf, who is from the very first ordering period, has an easy time sitting and getting the locking mechanism to work but my Luna is a bit trickier. I've also noticed that my older, late 2006 was the first ordering for these girls I think, Half Elf's face plate stays on just fine whereas my newer, spring of 2008 from the first order that Luna was available, Luna's tends to fall off a lot. Right now I've got wig Velcro holding it on but I might try another magnet also.

I was poking around the limhwa website and I noticed that under the Order Updates tab it listed the "Dreaming Half elf and Half Elf faceplate' as being discontinued... they're still listed on the website so I am a little confused. >.<; I remember hearing the Dreaming Half Elf was being discontinued, but I don't remember anything about the normal (Open eyed) one.

 

I think the normal Half Elf should be still for sale. The Dreaming Half Elf face plate and Eva were discontinued.

 

I have a Limhwa Human on a layaway, I can't wait to finally have her. :3 Now I have the problem of finding the shoes that fit her...

Sooooo.......I have been researching Limhwa's extensively the last few months because I really want a Half Elf ^_^'
She'd be my first SD size BJD so I want to make sure I know everything I need to know before I get her. (I've also thought about hybriding so that's been in mind as well) I don't mean for any of the old threads to be bumped or anything but I figured I'd list my resources so maybe they can help others?
The Limhwa's are kinda scarce, I've found, in terms of comparisons.

This is not an exhausted list. The Limhwa girls have the same mechanism in the knees, so the knees lock nicely in a 90 degree angle which helps them sit better. The locking joint in the upper legs (also known as butt scoops) don't work as effortless as with Limho Mano and the MSD sized Mono. At least my girl has more trouble with that joint that my Limhwa boys.

 

I&#8217;m kind of eyeing the Half-Elf sculpt again after a long time,
though I am interested in just the head now. I wonder if anyone
here has a both one of these beauties and a Mano (regular, not the Elf one)?
I know slim chance, but I would love to see them side by side.
I want them to share bodies (after serious mods obviously!). XB
