1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Limhwa 57 Girls discussion: Half Elf, Human, Eva, Dreaming Half Elf

Nov 15, 2007

    1. I don't think you should accept this at all, that is just not an acceptable resin quality. o.o; that picture really shows how it's all weird and flakey looking D=

    2. hmm, my girl is urethane resin and her hands are WORSE than in your picture, but it's only her hands that look like that. Some of her part show a sliiiiiight hint of the "cellulite" you discribe, but only a little... It bothered me but I figured Dollfair wasn't gonna do anything about it, knowing what other problems they present as "normal"...

But if it is like that all over her body and even her face!? isn't acceptable! go and contact to see what suggestions and solutions they come up with?
good luck with it!! I hope everything will work out for you!

    3. It could be from the humidity while casting, though I don't know why they would send the doll out like that. It worries me, I want a urethane Limwha! ;_;

    4. thanks for the answer, solarsenshi. Well, I just cannot accept it, because I can't take pictures of this doll, and everytime I look at her, I remember this problem -.- and it's really sad, because this is my dream doll... I just love the half elf, that's why I'm still trying to fix it =/

Annekekarel - My God! You should do something about the hands... =/ that's really a problem, because we need to use Macro to photograph these dolls, and in the Macro, these imperfections show up TOO MUCH... My girl is like this in the hands, but the body has only the cellulitis... I took some pictures to see if appears, and I noticed I'd have photoshop my pictures when I take it in some lighting conditions =/ It's very hard to take good pictures without showing the problems.

International Velvet - I don't know what may have gone wrong... but I just thing it went VERY wrong... since we don't this kinds of problems with other dolls =/ I hope it can be fixed, and you receive your girl in perfect condition. I don't want anyone to pass through what's happening to me... I'm really sad...

    5. I was thinking the same thing...that it could be from the humidity and wet water that they have in the summer months over there and this does concern me when buying any doll in the summer months.

      To Yunachan and AnnekeKarel
I think you need to email Catrina to let her know and also send along some pictures for her to see. Catrina does work hard because she does care and will help you! Please don't assume that no help will come...email her.

    6. Hi,

So sorry, you should've contacted them the minute you saw that. I'm sure they'll help you out. This isn't something that you did, you can clearly see there's a problem. I really hope this works out for you.

The last thing we want is a sad relationship between you and your doll.

      Evelyn

      Praying for the best!
      :(

    7. Sadly my Eva's hands look like that but not as bad, I think it is because she is Urethane Resin, but it does not bother me too much. Her resin does seem like it could be lighter, but that is just my opinion. I do worry about her because she could be more fragile than my Supia Roda made out of French Resin.

    8. I contacted their customer service but the person who talked to me said I'll have to sand it myself... Well... I think it's really an expensive doll to come like this... =/ these girls cost like limited dolls, but they're basic... and they don't come with clothes and those things, like the limited dolls usually come... At least we should receive them in good quality. =/

    9. that seems a little unfair...
They won't give you a partial refund?

    10. I don't know.... the only thing the person said is that I should try sanding with an ultra-fine sandpaper, and that I should search for informations here... =/

    11. Yunachan ~ Was that Catrina that you spoke with??? If not then I would address an email directly to Catrina with pictures attached. I can clearly see that the fingernails look brittle and the grooves on the palm of the hand don't look defined correctly. I think you need to talk with Catrina about this.

    12. Yunachan, that looks like a massive case of mould release to me...

Whatever it is, a doll shouldn't be sent to a customer in that condition.

That's just plain wrong! Tell them so!

A small and insignificant problem is something that is easiest fixed by the owner, not something which both Limwha's and Dollfair's quality control should have caught well before sending the doll out, and would be a really major undertaking to fix!

    13. Hello, it's Catrina here... I just saw these postings and the photos.

I'm really sorry there seem to be some rough hands. What I can do is contact Limhwa and see what she says. it could be that the molds were nearing the end of their lives on these. Limhwa also tells me that the hands are the hardest of all to cast.

When we inspect the dolls here, the hands are wrapped heavily in wrappers-- we look down the tubes of wrapping to make sure the fingers are intact. it would be impossible for us to examine the dolls for anything other than shipping damage.. because we know everyone is anxious to receive the dolls.

OK, I will see what she says. She has been very generous in the past to replace things when there is a problem.

      Catrina

P.S. I'm sorry I didn't get your email directly. Because of the volume of emails we receive daily, they are seen first by staff here. Limhwa dolls come unsanded, and my staff are instructed to tell people about finishing off little things with fine paper, just like the Korean collectors do.

    14. Hi Catrina! Thank you very much for the answer... I understand what you said and it really gives me hope again...

I take a lot of care of my dolls, but I just don't know how to sand them propely, since I'm in the hobby for only one and a half year... I never tried those massive sandings... I'm very afraid of losing details, and since I'm brazilian, it's really hard to have dolls here, so we don't risk too much...
I don't blame your staff, because the person who talked with me was very kind and was instructed to say that too...
I'd like to know if something can be done about my girl's body too... because it isn't like the hands, but I'll have to sand the entire body too... =/

Thanks a lot for the anwer, I really appreciate it.:thumbup

I'm editing this post because I took some pictures of her body to show you the cellulitis, I don't know if it can be fixed, but hope doesn't die...

Thanks for looking and answering to my posts... I really appreciate your answers!
Tomorrow I'll try to take some shots of her flat feet...

    15. Wow Yunachan, that is quite bad looking @_@ that just looks rough and unfinished, and it's not up to us to get the doll smoothly sanded out (and I don't mean seam lines), especially when we pay this much!

I believe they should send you a new body actually =/

    16. well... just before I bought my first doll, I had a nightmare one day that she came this way to my house and I couldn't do anything... I guess my nightmare came true x.x

If this body could be sanded, I wouldn't mind if they didn't change the entire body, but only sand it... The seam lines are not a problem for me... I know how to sand seam lines and I can do this king of job... but I don't know how to sand an entire doll =/ if she could be sanded and they could send me this girl in a good state, I would be really satisfied... I would cry of happiness, for sure.

I just love this doll TOO MUCH... only I know how I love her... she really very special for me, and I can't look at her like this and do nothing =/ That's killing me, because I like to play with her and take pictures, I like to be with her when I'm on the computer... and she's the first thing I ever bought with my own money... That's why I'm so sad about this problem...

I really hope that can be fixed, Catrina was very kind on my first order, and I believe she will try to fix it... It's really important to me...

    17. I'm planning to order my urethane human in august... it just seems the ordering page has disappeared off the site though o.o;

PS: Yunachan, any updates yet? =O

    18. Goodluck on your order, solarsenshi!

Ahm... they contacted me by email... and now I'm just waiting for an answer from the artist... ^^' I'm very hopefull this can be fixed...

    19. Good luck, Yunachan!
Solarsenshi, I just got an email from the yahoo group, it says the order period just opened and will be open through the 15th.

Catrina - Any news on the tanned order? I am bursting with excitement in waiting for my girl!

    20. Thanks for letting me know Weslie ^^ I just put in my order, I hope my urethane girl comes out looking ok...

Good luck Yunachan~! I really hope they understand that sending a doll out in such a condition isn't acceptable~
