1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Limhwa 57 Girls discussion: Half Elf, Human, Eva, Dreaming Half Elf

Nov 15, 2007

    1. Well, sanding the seam lines, sure.

But the whole resin looking weird like that is not OK for me. Did you see the pictures Yunachan posted before?
And also, it seems like more of a casting issue than a sanding issue.

    2. In Yunachan's case I do think she has to ask about hands replacement, this is not manor issue

    3. What shoe size do the Limhwa 57cm ladies take? I recall reading Luts' Senior Delf Girl shoes would fit the heeled feet, but I may be wrong?

    4. http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103971
^this thread might help you. I've been able to squeeze the regular feet into dollheart shoes as well =3

Vanilla.Sky: I think I will let people decide for themselves whether this is a 'major' issue. I know it would be to me.

    5. I heard that the Tan girls come sanded, so I guess that's why your girls came in perfect state.

And I agree with SolarSenshi... I think the Doll Studios should make their doll for all people, not only for the ones that know how to sand a doll properly. Some people really don't have this kind of knowledge, and for some people, these may be their first dolls, so people often get afraid of trying to fix a problem that they just didn't cause :/

    6. My tan girl needs sanding, *_* her hands especially. For me to be truly happy with her, she will need some light sanding in quite a few areas.

    7. They had a sanded spot on them where the face plate and back of the head piece meet. It doesn't show because it's under the wig. But other then that they don't appear to have been sanded. The sanded spots are lighter than the rest of the doll. I think if I had to sand a spot on them where it would show, I'd have to sand the whole doll to make it match.

      Hope this is helpful,
      Yia

    8. Yep, you're right mPy... I think people that want to sad the tan girls will have to sand the entire dolls, like I did... but I guess if you use an ultra fine sandpaper, like number 1000 it would be easier to mach the colors without taking away too much resin. And it would give a smooth texture to the resin, like de DOD ones... I used this sandpaper on my girl...

    9. i was reading about this and this post was a little while ago..I wondered, why did you have to sand it yourself?? is there any update at all to resolve the issue from dollfair or limhwa.. I am budgeting for my next dolls so i am concerned as its a lot of money and wanted to know how limhwa/dollfair solved this..thanks

    10. I would like to hear updates too, as I am quite worried in what state my limhwa will arrive to me now :( I do not have any means to properly sand her either :S

    11. Well, the only thing I can say is "there are no updates" ^^'
I had to sand my girl on my own, because they wanted meto pay for a sanding service on their store... and I told 'em I don't think it's fair, because I already paid too much to have this doll and would have to spend more money to send her to them, pay for the sanding, and pay the shipping back to me.
So, I tried to sand her calmly by my own, with a very fine sandpaper... and the result is good, for my sake ^^'

The resin was bad mixed... after I sanded her, I noticed some darker shades of color that just didn't go away... well, I'll have to live with that... :/

    12. That is really troubling!

I have planned a Half-Elf as the next doll to be brought home for some time now, and probably will be able to buy her next spring.
She needs to be in French resin, and hence the urethane resin problem Limwah's been having does not affect this doll plan directly.

But of course it affects my willingness to spend money on a doll from that maker - if that's their attitude towards the urethane difficulty, what is their attitude likely be towards other problems that might occur...?

      Hardly encouraging...

    13. That's weird, they should be giving you that service for free =/ not asking you to buy it from them. Maybe you should also tell them that you sanded it and it came out with different colours too ? :S I figured it would be bad resin cast from the beginning. I don't think they should be sending out miscasts, no matter how busy or pressured the artist is.

    14. This is really disturbing to hear. The poor resin quality bothers me, since I've fallen in love with the limhwa girls and wanted to order one for my second doll.. It's definitely upsetting to pay so much and then receive something that, from the looks of the pics, should never have left the workshop.

    15. I sent them an email telling that there was some darker shades of resin, and they answered just that they hope it doesn't appear on pictures. Well, I'm really disapointed with their service... I have other dolls and the Limhwa half elf was my first doll, I first bought her in french resin, but I live in Brazil, and it' really hot here, so the resin yellowed in just four months... I sold the doll after one year trying to get rid of the yellowing... and bought an urethane girl.
I know that these girls had a better quality before, and everyone that bought them in the same period as mine, or before, knows that too. The resin was beautiful and the texture was incredible. The seam lines didn't bother so much, they just came perfect.
I trusted that Limhwa would make this great job again, and waited anxiously for two and a half months, to receive.. THIS?

It's impossible to be happy with that if you have other dolls or if you the quality of the old Limhwa girls.

    16. I hope everything works out for you Yunachan~ -hug- it's true, my old French resin Human girl looked much much better than that, I really hope they improve their casting =/

My new Human girl should be getting shipped to the US pretty soon~ I will be inspecting her thoroughly XD

    17. I am so sorry to read about all your heartache in regards to your doll!

Remember how excited you were about the first one.

I have always considered at some point to get one of the human girls but if the quality is not as good as it used to be then I am no longer so sure I want one.

    18. Is Limwha in full production now or do they shut down for a while?? I just traded my French Half elf for a Tanned Urethane, and think I made a mistake..:sweat I'm missing my previous girl...and not bonding with the tan one {though she just came today!} so I am just wondering if its possible order any time??
      {tried to PM Catrina on this but her PM box is full:sweat}

    19. Catdancer you can email customer service for Limhwa here [email protected] to inquire about ordering.

    20. thanks Twigling!
