1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Limhwa ToYou discussion part 1

Apr 17, 2006

    1. Hey! Carolyn.S, if that's even your real name...that doll is not going to paint herself! And if she does you better not tell anyone. They won't believe it anyway! I couldn't bear the thought of painting that teeney tiny face. So I got her with a face up. But now I think I want to change it. I'm gonna get one of those magnifiers before I attempt that LOL.

    2. Perhaps this has been mentioned already, but the doll line "evergirl" has shoes that fit my ToYou. They are cute and contemporary, so if that's the style you are looking for then I'd suggest checking them out. The shoes were purchased for my Pullips, who in the cases of the the type 1 and 2 bodies have about the same size feet as ToYou, only more narrow. Some Pullip shoes will work if there is enough toe space.

Also, my bryte has become quite fond of a pair of Jun Planning's Namu shoes. There is a small gap of space in the back, but with stockings they stay on her feet quite well.:

    3. Can you please post a link to Evergirl? I have no idea where to look. And i'd love to see the rest of that picture--those are the cutest socks and shoes.

    4. No kidding. That is desparately cute.

    5. Thanks Stella! Yep Carolyn's my real name. I wish I had been more creative with my forum name, but when I first joined I didn't think of doing that.

I have two of those head magnifiers. One is the good one with a glass lens that the Limhwa account said they bought for themselves. The other is junkier but comes with multiple plastic lenses. I think I have everything I need to do the faceup except time, space, confidence, ability, and weather suitable for spraying!

      Carolyn

    6. Thank you both :)

As for evergirl...nick.shop had some available, but not much anymore. I don't know where else to look anymore other than checking ebay. I saw them at Wal-Mart and places like that for awhile, but not recently. they were made by Playmates, so that might aid in additional searches.

    7. Carolyn, I feel your pain. You could always just send her out to someone else. I always feel like that is cheating.

    8. I totally cheated and am so happy I did! *laugh* I would have just put it off forever, sorta like those clothes I keep meaning to sew for my dolls.

    9. I know it's the time problem! PS you have two of my favorite dolls!

    10. Stella - which two? Because if one is Min, she is also awaiting a faceup :( I bought her thirdhand and her original faceup had already removed, replaced, removed, and she had staining when I got her. She is as unstained as I can get her, and MSC'd.

And toydogz4 - re Evergirl - bagofspiders said the shoes shown above are Namu shoes (Pullip boyfriend).

    11. I love your Min! Another one who needs a faceup!

    12. I tried on some bratz pants on my Toyou (Penny) and they sure dont fit!

    13. Just got two Tiny Kitty outfits and they fit my ToYou, Vanity, perfectly! Even the bra and panties are a perfect fit. Silkstone Barbie clothes also fit her, at least the outfit I bought. Even the top is only a skitch roomy, just wish they had more youthful styles.

    14. So Anna's magnets came unstuck. Any advice of what type of glue to use to get them to stay? I'm scared to move her around too much because I don't want to lose her headcap. It likes to roll away with her wig.

    15. Read this recent thread about loose magnets in a larger doll...

      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78084

Note the info about putting them in the right way (or you end up with magnets that push away from each other).

I would be a bit wary about using epoxy with very small or shallow magnet holes. Whatever you use, if you have to glue the head magnets (rather than the cap magnets) be sure to protect your doll's face well (maybe wrap saran wrap around her head except for where you are gluing.

    16. I've ordered my ToYou three days ago.

If someone wants to have one, hurry up, there's only 3 more left and no more are going to be done :P (thanks a lot for your lovely message, Catrina ^___^)

    17. Anyoe get any new shoes to fit?

    18. about shoes for toyou:
i 've found that the shoes for helen kish "riley" fit her perfectly.
i know that riley is a child doll , but many of the shoe styles(slip-ons mary janes etc etc...) are age neutral and can pass for grown-up shoes.
the point is they fit her foot really well and don't look funny (depending on the style).
      hope this helps
      m.a.

    19. OH thank you MAITALIA. My ToYou Veruka really needs some shoes.
