Loongsoul 1/3 doll discussion Part 5

bluebellaen, tbh I not surprised, cos even my 1st orders had all time damaged body blushing(I have only 2 Sd from them and one event pet now), but I also helped to some friends with orders and ofc I saw their box openings.
Last time I took White Dragon in fullset, and also I took human parts with him (but human parts w/o blushing). They sent me my dragon, but w/o human parts, and those parts took a year It was white blank parts, I dont beleive they cant to make those parts earlier.

 

Oh dear..that sounds upsetting. What kind of defects were there?

 

quilleth, body blushing was damaged everywhere (multiple scratches). It was like someone played with them before :/
But those LE editions was directly from LS. Face-ups was in perfect condition, only body blushing was damaged.
My White Dragon was in good condition. Only human parts I waited one year, I wanted to sharing this body with another heads, but I bought from DF body for those heads. Cos it took so long :/

 

@bluebellaen Not yet, but I reached out to her if she was made aware of this. She's a dealer in china, and I wasn't certain whether it had reached her yet. It read to me like so far only those customers that already had received their orders / had their orders already shipped were contacted, but I don't know.
I asked a bit of a month ago about the status of this doll/order, because it was meant to be a birthday gift to myself when I was told it would likely become fall.

I want to hear from her what exactly the defects are according to her and hear my options from her.
I'll then make up my mind. Personally I like your dealer's approach. Ship out the Ye Ying and sent the upgraded / defective remade accessoirs after.

I had a character planned on the theme of gold and Ginkgo leaves and when I spotted the first preview of this Loongsoul my heart leaped because I got the 'omg he might be perfect' tingles. And I did love him and decided to get him after much deliberation due to the price tag. So I'm definitily learning towards additional waiting times to get him in high quality.

Loongsoul usually delivers well in terms of quality in my experience and I haven't heard or read much in terms of issues when it comes to other licenced dolls (like the onmyouji game ones, or those prior to those).



I also want to know the exact issues because if I read the comments right, then a lot 'problems' seem to be based on some gamers who bought the bjd without knowing what a bjd was and expected a tall action figure AND the sword to be from metal and not plastic? I certainly won't mind if I get a metal sword on top, but I do hope they stick to resin for it, because how else is the doll supposed to pose with it. It will be too heavy.
Either way it's wait and see.

In my opinion they might as well ship out the defect accessoires too. They are already made, so just give them to me with the doll to have something to play with in the meanwhile. Might even be able to salvage them.

 

@bluebellaen I'm going to have twins, so even if one sword is defective, I might just be able to mod it and have something similar enough that it works out for me.
I'm expecting to hear back from my retailer tomorrow or the day after. She might already be trying to negotiate a good deal for me.
I'll bring it up that I'd like at least the defective sword if possible and the re-maid parts later. I'll see what she/they say.
I do have several shops with similar wigs, but would have prefered to get it all from one source at the same time.
Oh well. I'll see what options I'm getting and report back.

(and yes, I've also been working mostly with chrome + google translation. It's enough to get the gist of it but not in detail)

@bluebellaen & everyone else interested in the Ye Ying situation

According to my retailer the issue isn't big and "it is just some accessories will fade after some months later." and that LS offered a refund on their own and that her orders will be finished in September.

Since she also mentioned photos I asked to see them and mentioned that some other's have reported worse quality issues /damage and will get them replaced and I want to make certain that I have the option too if they come true and LS doesn't have the excuse that I already got a partial refund to make up for that.
Also I'm not sure what 'fade' means. If it's just crown and sword loosing a bit of the colors, I don't care much, because I can paint that myself or ask a fellow hobbyist and friend for help if it's more complex than I'm thinking right now. But I'm aware that's not an option for everyone and honestly shouldn't even be 'my' problem but the company's.

Perhaps the extra waiting time is used to check up all not yet shipped boxes and put them together, while they are waiting on how much defective issues are reported to cast/order replacements all in one go and that's why the 6 months for replacement got quoted.

If I end up disappointed with the wig, I'll gladly look up my other sources and share links.

Unfortunatley if he arrives in october he'll come right in my busiest time of the year and when there's no more good natural light most of the day ^^° That's whny I didn't mind the one year wait they originally said, cause if all worked out he should have been here by end of July where the sun is still shining brightly.

OK... that was the fastest arrival shipping I've ever had in my life!!!!!

And oh my gods, he is absolutely amazing ;_; I'm floored at just how beautiful he is, and the dark brown resin is just... perfect? I really love darker skinned dolls and it looks just so striking on him. Ahh ;_; I can't stop staring. Also, he's MASSIVE oh my goodness!!

I must ask: Does anyone have tips for dealing with stringing his tail? Because... my hands are absolutely wrecked after trying to work with it! I ended up putting an extension to the string with some of my posing wire through the last piece of the tail+fur just so I could actually get the darn thing done...

I'm going to have to take more pictures at another time that isn't dark out... and after I darken the netting for that lacefront wig. But I had to share him now because just... Ahhh ;_;

That said, the fitting background of the (dragon ?) claw holding up a massive spear? and the 'dragon eggs' (I know they are not, but still!!!) and the dragon book-holder kind of cracks me up and also works lovely with him

 

@bluebellaen & fellow Ye Ying buyers wondering about the issues

I got the pictures from LS from my retailer today.
The issues I could see are as follows:
- crown: The slender stick-like thing that's like a hair needle-decoration seems to be a bit soft and sinks from a curved cresent-like shape to a straighter one.
- sword: doesn't seem to be bend out of shape in any way, despite some rumors, but in fact it seems the color of the gold fades a little making the details stand out less (or the details are not as deep from casting as the original). I think either I myself or my friend can fix that up easily with some touching up (careful black pastels brushed into the edges should let the details stand out and shine again )
- wig: It does seem to only concern the white one, which is not as 'hairy' / hair intensive as the original (I have a comparison pics of the wig with the wig cap turned inside out) but still plenty. More than a lot of wigs that aren't furwigs or alpaca or of similar material have.

No damage in terms of the clothing seems to be an issue. Perhaps whoever lodged that complain simply isn't used to handling this kind of fabric.

So I'm going to take by my retailer's suggestion, get my doll and the partial refund whenever it's finished in September and examine it carefully right away when he gets here, to see if there are issues that are not covered in the pictures.

I feel more at ease now that I've seen the pictures. Just reading about it made my imagination paint the worst kind of scenarios ^^°

Can't read the symbols but I know with the crown the left one is the original one and the right one shows the defect, so I'm assuming it's similar for the other ones.

(and I wasn't aware you could pic the wig color? XD I'm getting both heads and wigs and have body from a different company awaiting his head lol)
