I didn't know the game until the doll popped up and I saw a tiny figure of this very character as well. Looks like it could totally be my kind of game to get addicted to, but ... if it's not even in english (not my mother tongue) then I can hardly play it ^^°

But yes, having the doll to play with and getting the rest delivered in due time seems like a good choice

 

He looks amazing! I love the dark resin too! Definitely going to be looking out for future dark resin releases from them, such great quality!

I took both heads, cos couldn't decide, but if u taking head with open eyes, that brown wig was inc with that head. I want him as original char, I love this chars from JX3.
Also I have RD MoYu, they also made another chars, but they looks a bit strange for me

If you get a crowd like that I'd ask with your retailer or LS (depending on where you placed the order) to have it replaced. Might take a while, but...

If you look up their Onmyouji characters you'll see the prices are similar. Their licenced works tend to be in that price range. But yes, usually the quality is top notch from what I've seen and heard.

Oh, was RD's MoYu also based on a character?

I thought RD had super pale resin colors my LoongSoul PS boy is SUPER Pink and it never would have occurred to me that RD NS would be that good looking of a match

 

This one was a pinker normal than I'm use to, but it works for me.

I heard about JX3 before, cos 1st who I rememebr was - Spiritdoll, they started to make a collaboration with Jx3, but its was looong time ago; maybe 6-8 years ago, its old and very popular mmo at china as I know. But at this time I played at another type of games and idk so much about this game. It's when I started to plat at mmo - then i was curious how to play to JX3, but rip. Have one game which have some similar, some ppl sure its same game (Legend of the Ancient Sword), but its not same game, cos at jx3 have 13 classes and at another 5-6. And I not saying about different design now. But ye, it can reminds JX3 - but its not same for me.
After few years RD made collaboration with them, I took only MoYu from them, cos he looks like original char from game. Another...
And now LS. Also I saw some ppl made a bjd cosplay.
+ have some chinese anime with this Ye Ying, also u can find with subs at youtube.

Snowy, yeah, I remember this release. He was really awesome, but lucky it wasn't my fav char. I never player in Onmyouji (cos Im Tera addicted uwu), but I love those chars too.

I waited release of Xiu, and I was so disappointed, cos if u looking on chars pict and what RD made - its not looks same for me. :/

 

@Riku LIN well, i guess it's a good thing for me that I can't read chinese or I'd probably be addicted to it too.
... there's an anime with Ye Ying? Wow. he must be a quite popular character.

And yes, I remember it too. I was so stronlgy tempted by Mo Yu cause he was so different from what RD put out there usually and strongly appealed to me (back then I was still against adding 70+ dolls to my collection and also just had a not so good experience with RD so...)

Tera? :3 Tell me more? XD I got the Artbook of Onmyouji because I love the designs so much. That kind of tales and lores about the characters origins? Totally my kind of interst.

I don't know Xiu but the advertisment and pic of the doll on the page is already worlds appart in my oppinion. (I also don't like some other characters RD made, but the majority seems ok with it, while I think they could have done way better and feel the characters look flatt and lifeless, but to each their own)


I'm really curious what Loongsoul is going to pump out next.
I saw on their weibo once that someone made Loongsoul boy in one of the characters of Legends of Exorcism (the wolf-transforming guy ) It was so good I thought Loongsoul had snatched another coop (shortly before Ye Ying I believe) and it was an advertisment, but nope, it was a fanmade doll.

 

Snowy, well, this game old and popular, so i think a lot of chars here can be popular; At youtube u can find so much fan vids. Idk so much about this game, but maybe its some chars main (red line) story of the game.



I have MoYu, and he very cool. Sadly, they not wanted to make available ws too, bus heh, better then nothing.
But what happened between u and RD?

Sadly, official Tera Online died at 30.06.2022, they closed all official servers, cos devs are lazy and they dont want to make anything for this game. But that game was and still the best at mmo. Now have few pservers but its not same as official Tera ofc. This game around 12 years and I was there 6-7 years non stop. Now u can only check youtube, for to see what it was. But I making my chars in bjd versions.
Also I still playing at Tera, but on my friends pserver, they mostly learning how to codding this, creating game staff etc.
Its amazing world with very beautiful viwes, fantasy creatures, animation etc. But its not looks like JX3 or Onmyouji.

Yeah, RD sometimes making very cool bjds, but sometimes.. heh

Never heard about Legends of Exorcism, but looks cool, chars looks interesting

I think I'm actually glad I didn't know Ye Ying's character XD Him trying to get an effect with that bishi-flower-sparkle power is actually not my type XD Nope, I'm sticking with my tragic character twin emperor idea ;P

I think I played Tera Online for a while if it's the one I got in mind XD But switched over after they messed up the crafting system so bad it was practically worthless. Happy in FF14 :3
But cool that your friends are so passionate about it they learn to make new stuff for it

Agree, devs made a lot of bad things, what killed game. My 1st guild almost all left cos of many fails at +3Heroic gear.
Also have a rumor about Tera2, but how many ppl will back? Cos after what they did - no trust. Many ppl now playing or slacking at pservers.

Ah, Im so happy for u, hope u will sharing your box opening and maaaany of his pict. I'll ask about mine at this week.

 

I got back from a short vacation yesterday and was awaited by a box wider than my hips and going up to my hips.

My Ye Ying arrived and no one told me xD The tracking didn‘t update after he left China and my parents who accepted him for me didn’t say anything either.

Was too tired to unpack him all the way and put him together but already gave it a quick look.

Gonna enjoy him after breakfast in a bit. Hopefully with better light :p

So pleasant things first!
Here's my Ye Ying aka my Golden Emperor and my Jade Emperor which is the sleeping Ye Ying head on an IslandDoll body.

He's gorgeous and handsome and I really love him, but damn is he tall xD
Glad I got this one even thought I normally wouldn't have spent so much.

Personally I feel the weapon could have been painted better. Compared zo the rest it looks a bit meh. Also the sword is plastic while the bell is something more heavy. If you got this doll or a wig like his make sure you have time and patience. It’s mot s lie that I fumbled around for about an hour and sone to get them properly in place. Onto the 'defects' this production is supposed to have:
- crown: Well, mine seems alright, but the thin parts on each side (which is normally a hair needle I believe) are fragile and need to be handled with care. I also don't think it's resin but a different kind of plastic?
It's a bit tricky to pull the ponytail fully through it and sit it where it belongs, but once you manage it should sit just perfectly fine there.

- wig: Overall I'm ok with the wig's quality, but I don't think I'll get another front lace wigh like this again ^^° cutting it a bit more in shape and stuff was less of a problem for me and getting it in place was no issue for the white one in my case, but the dark brown one likes to mock me and I know I'll pull it off all the way again next weekend and try to fix it better - and make the side strands finally stick on both sides, damn it!
What I did notice however was that the white wig appears thinner where the front lace is attatched for the bags than the brown one. Normally probalby wouldn't catch as much attention, but since I was checking it out closely...
Other than that I can only recommend being careful and patient when combing the wig as you should always be. Combing from the bottom and slowly working upwards.
The wigs comes in separate boxes on wig stands, where they are pinned in place. It makes the tail curl at the bottom which means it won't be straight out of the box, but i'm confident it will loosen the slight bend/curve on it's own over time.

- sword: Well, the details seem to be all good, but personally I feel the paint job was done poor. The bell is some sort of metal that shines which makes the sword and sheat appear 'cheap' and plastic' in my oppinion. As someone who's familiar with tabletop figures and the like, I'm not really satisfied with it. It's not a bad job per say, the lines are all neatly done and such, but I think with other colors and shadings it could look more metalic and 'real' than a plastic toy. I also think it's not resin but plastic. The blade certainly is flexible enough.


Other than that I had a brown smudge from the sword stand on the tight that I was able to remove with a dirt sponge.
The sword stand itself also feels a bit 'meh' in terms of painting job.

Overall, if you took a good look at the pictures provided of the doll you get what was on the pics in terms of painting job and it's mostly a clash of my expectations vs reality.

I'll be happy with this doll for this characters of mine and am glad I choose not to wait any longer and take the partial refund.

@quilleth Yes, I totally agree! The golden one is the character's fullset, the other one is from another LS set that I was lucky to aquire and is a perfect fit for what I wanted. I have one more in shades of green and gold that Is not from Loongsoul but I'm too in love to even consider switching them up now XD


@Riku LIN Thank you! And agreed! I kinda like the closed eyes a tiny bit more, but I love both of them.

The box really IS huge!
