It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Loongsoul Doll 1/4 doll discussion

Sep 28, 2011

    1. Thank you! I bought her this Unique Leeke wig, but I wasn't anticipating needing a wig cap to keep it on:huh?: I might buy a different one for her though. I definitely want her wearing a long and dark wig.

    2. That will be so cool,I love the look of red with really dark hair! Such a stunning combination! Keeping wigs on some dolls can be very difficult, I have a few that their ears are always getting in the way.

    3. Venetica your girl is gorgeous! I wonder what wig you will use with her XD

    4. @Venetica - now I may have t get one after all :) Is she the white skin?

    5. @silentstardust: Yes, she is White Skin. I normally opt for Pink Skin, but I got my NuanNuan in this color and it is super pink...I thought the white would look better with the red fish parts.

    6. I'm so happy for you! She is amazing. My doll (witch Sybil) is still on layaway. Hopefully I will be able to pay her off next month. :)

    7. Thanks for the pictures! I find myself confused now though... what exactly is the color modulation vs. the body blushing? I ordered mine blank, because I thought the color was blushed on, but now it turns out it's actually in the resin? If so, I want mine colored too, but it's probably too late to do anything about it. :/

    8. I am a little confused too, actually. Looking at Lilit's box opening thread, you can see that the red color is definitely mixed in with the transparent resin, leaving a transition to clear. Color modulation seems to be simply painting in the clear parts to give a gradient effect. A tiny part of the paint is scratched off on my girl's tail fin on the orange part, and it is clear underneath. Luckily it's the red parts that will be subject to friction, so I just need to be careful not to touch orange parts as often as possible. (I do want to point out that a pearlescent coating is sprayed over the entire fish parts; sadly moving the tail does scratch this off.)

Body blushing refers to the human (?) parts of the body, which include the chest, waist, arms, both sets of hands, human ears and default fish ears. The scales on the midsection and the webbing on the siren hands are just painted to match the tail, which is why you have to pick a color (which seems odd...you'd think they would just blush it to whatever the color of your girl's tail is.)

But, you ordered your girl blank without choosing a color right? Lilit specified the red color, so I wonder if you don't specify a color and choose the transparent tail, you get sweet clear parts. Who did you order her from? You may want to contact them and ask. If they haven't gotten back to you asking which color you'd like, either you don't have to and you'll get clear, or it will be assumed you want the default and you'll get red.

    9. I ordered from Mint on Card. Everything I've read says that if you didn't specify a color, you'd get the default color shown. As in Chris automatically gets blue, Lotus automatically gets red, Celia and Sibyl get purple. So the fact I didn't choose a color doesn't mean anything, as the color would just be assumed by LS to be the default. Those are the colors I'd choose anyway, so I don't mind if that's what I get.

I'm starting to think that the colored resin is default, and is included in the blank doll price. Looking at Mint on Card's ordering page, they list three options: blank for 505, with faceup for 565, and with faceup and colored mermaid parts for 605. Body blushing is 80 dollars extra. Checking those same options on Horusdoll, the price matches 605 including both "color modulation" options, but not the body blushing. I'm thinking due to the language barrier, MoC assumed color modulation was all the color on the tail, when it's just enhancing the colored resin. Additionally, catas posted pictures of an "unpainted" doll in the news thread, and those show the resin parts colored.

I guess I could poke MoC for clarification, but I'm wondering if they're just as confused. XD I won't know for sure what I'm getting until it shows up.

    10. @EmmBee: Ah, ok. I don't think it's really the case of MoC being confused - I think it's that they are simplifying things. When they were selling the Asleep Eidolon mermaids, they only offered the most expensive package that came with everything ($1050). I found out later - thanks to Legend Doll - that there are actually three different packages available (A: $625, B: $820, C: $1050).

I'm considering going and buying the shell base for my Lotus now. I have nothing to sit her on. I tried propping her onto a waist gripper stand, but the poor thing looked ridiculous. If I had grabbed it with my order I would have gotten $10 off, so I'm kicking myself now. Maybe I'll go shopping around for something similar (and a lot cheaper) first.

    11. @Venetia: In my crafting store they often sell seashells in various sizes in summer time for decorations. I think you should be able to easily make one yourself. At least that's what I'm planning. Debatted with myself for a while wether or not to take one when I ordered Lotus, but decided against it in the end :3 After seeing what my sis once made out of small seashells she collected during a vacation at a beach, I think it will look better than the bought one, even thought that one is gorgeous <3

    12. @Venetica Well, the reason I said MoC seems equally confused is because this is what their sales page says about the options (emphasis mine):

But if the transparent tail resin always comes as the default color, even on a blank doll, that's not what I'd call "no color whatsoever." So I feel like if I ask MoC, they'll just tell me my mermaid parts won't be colored, but I rather suspect they will because Lilit's "blank" doll is. That's good info to have about how MoC simplifies their ordering options though. I'll definitely shop around a bit more next time. And that means even thought MoC told me that fin swapping was not an option, Horusdoll might allow it.

@Snowy That is a great idea about using craft shells to make a base! I'd love to see what people come up with. Not only is it less expensive, but you can make different designs and have something unique.

    13. @Snowy: That's a cool idea! The only reason I'm leaning more towards the shell base is because I know it will be sturdy. I want something nice and heavy. I'll do some shopping around and decide.

Edit: Actually, as much as I like the shell base I wish it could fit more than one girl. I have a Dollmore mermaid on layaway, so I'd like to have something they can sit together on. Although, I hear the poor girls can't sit up by themselves...

@EmmBee: Ah, I see what you mean. But according to the order information in the waiting room thread, Lilit ordered hers blank, but did pick the red color. She didn't order it completely blank with the intention of her having a clear tail. I'm sure if you explain your concerns to MoC, they can communicate with LS to get the facts. I have asked them some pretty tricky questions before and they always go out of there way to get a straight answer.

    14. Well, it took me a while to figure out how to explain the problem, but I e-mailed MoC, so I'll keep you posted when I get a reply. In the meantime, I hope more Sirens find their way home and into box opening threads. XD

    15. @EmmBee: I actually already have two big shells home. I kept them from... when we had them for dinner ;P Then cleaned them properly out and put in the dish washer to make sure it's all hygenic. They are pretty white-brown striped on the outside, all whiteish on the inside. I want to make a collum out of some sort of clay, that looks like wet sand when dried and decorate it with little shells and starfishs <3 On top there will be the big shells. That's the plan anyway :3

@Venetica: Then you might want to really look into making one yourself? Or by two shells and make the base yourself? You can also look into real bigger shells and cussion the lower half so they can sit side-by-side :3
? Do you mean the dollmore mermaids can't sit by themselves? Or the Loongsoul ones?

About color: From what I remember weren't there pics in the promotion thread in the news of a 'blank' one? From the way I read it all tails are colored as the resin has the color. The blushing is only adding texture and shine to it and some extra color at the clear tips -> Lotus' orange parts.
I don't think there are 'clear' tails.

    16. @Snowy: I was referring to the Dollmore mermaids that supposedly can't sit. From what I hear, they are very, very floppy and their tails can't really hold poses. My Lotus sits perfectly. I knew she wouldn't have any problems posing, she's a LoongSoul after all:)

    17. Thanks for clearifying that ^^° I was just worried, cause Loongsouls are - in my oppinion - one of the best posers out there. Would have surprised me if this suddenly changed.
As for Dollmore... I've learned through a friend that nearlly all dolls can be good posers. Some just need some wiring and hot glue sueding or other helping means ;9

      More pics of your lady?

... Also... I really like your avatar... *tempted to take a bite*

    18. Well, the mystery has been solved! Mint on Card said they were very confident that blank tails are colorless. They spent a lot of time going over all the ordering options with LS before listing them for sale so they could be sure everything was in order. However, they offered to check with LS to see if mine could be colored. Unfortunately, it's too late for my order to be changed, so I will indeed be getting CLEAR tails. LS provided a photo and MoC said to please share it, so here you go:

    19. Wow!! The clear tail looks freaking sweet!!:D I wish I could grab another girl and give her a clear tail! Thanks so much for sharing!

@Snowy: Unfortunately it's difficult for me to take photos any time other than the weekend. I am in the process of moving, plus we have a hurricane on the way that's supposed to hit us on the 4th of July:/ Once everything is settled I'll be boring everyone here to death with her, lol.

I usually hot glue suede all of my girls, but my LS girls have never needed it. I'm sure I'll have to do that for my Dollmore girl though. Also, lol, I'm glad you like my avatar! (I happen to love Riesen too, so it works out.)

    20. :bump

Welp, I taped the magnets on her head to see what the antennae looked like, and found that the wig fit right on with no problems:/ So I rushed out to do a photo shoot today! I meant to get more full shots of her tail, like in this photo. Next time!
