Loongsoul Doll 1/4 doll discussion

Sep 28, 2011

    1. I agree----you did an excellent job with her outfit, @Snowy! :thumbup

    2. [IMG]

Snapped a new photo of my Loongsoul Momo for her profile. :daisy

NGL, I ate that lollipop after I put down my camera. It was delicious.

    3. @PeppermintPocky Wow, that's colorful ... And those eyes are stunning! Also love the matching earrings. Overall well put together outfit and style! Congrats.

Speaking of eyes. I got Wendy's the other day...

    4. Thank you for your kind words, @Snowy. :daisy Stacy's eyes are particularly vibrant---they are 14mm Mystics Apple Green. Love 'em!

Your Wendy looks fantastic! Is she wearing the new Resin Basics line by SafrinDoll? I have a pair on order for my Doll Chateau boy (I ordered 14mm Topaz with small irises). I thought Honey Amber looked good on the order page but after seeing your photo it's 10x more lovely in doll!

Now I'm super excited to get the pair I ordered. :XD:

    5. @PeppermintPocky Oh? I've never heard of that brand. I'll keep it in the back of my mind :) Have no doubt that you love them ;) I know I do.

And yes, exactly. It's actually a product picture I took for Safrin among lots of others (I ordered 13 pairs ^^°) because I happened to be among the first to order and some of the colors are brand new, so... I know I love owner pics as reference and even some of the old didn't have any yet...
Also some people claimed that the colors turned out different then the product pics... Which, personally, I have to disagree with. Thought I also have to admit I also think they are even more lovely in real live.

      I actually also ordered Topaz...
      Safrin Eyes
The top ones. They are similar to honey amber, but honey amber is more red-ish while topaz is more brown-yellowish.
If you want I can unpack them and find a doll to put mine in and take a pic?

    6. Here is Mystics' website (actually, one of their dealers' pages) in case you ever want to take a peek. :thumbup I own Green Apple, Ivory Blue, and Caramel---all colors look as pictured.

Wow! 13 pairs?! How awesome! :XD: Congrats on the new haul. :daisy

Thank you very much for offering to share a photo of your Topaz pair with me---I would love to see them in doll, when you have time. They look beautiful in the comparison you linked to; a slightly different color than I anticipated, but I'm fine with that. Plus I know monitors vary. I've had colors be a tad off with multiple eye brands in the past (I bought a purple pair of Gumdrops once and when they arrived they were basically black). :sweat

Also, I really like the photo you have here (I went browsing your Flickr for other colors, hehe). The resin basics look much better than the old acrylics. I'm impressed. I can especially see a difference in the pupils----the pupils in the acrylics appear flatter, whereas the new pair has a bit more "life" to them. :) (Lovely dolls in the photo, btw!)

    7. So...I let my mother-in-law play with my Loongsoul doll (she is a 1/4 female body with a DF-A head) but I think she fell in love with her ability to pose and overall aesthetic...so I'm thinking about ordering her a full doll from LS as a holiday gift.

She is a seamstress and was daydreaming about making "Disney princess" outfits for her. I'd love to hear your thoughts on which doll would best fit that...I was thinking maybe Momo or Nuan Nuan but I can't decide; they are all so cute!

    8. I think it would depend on what she likes or likes to make, aIso personally think Nuan Nuan is a 'pretty' doll, while Momo is a more 'cutesy' doll, so maybe you can go with that?
Since I think Nuan Nuan is the 'pretty' type, I'll vote for her :) since I think princesses are 'pretty' or something like that. :P

    9. I love Loongsoul bodies. Very sweet of you to buy a girl for your mother-in-law!

To add my few cents, I think Momo looks a little younger than NuanNuan, so that may influence your decision. Both would make great princesses, though. (Although I do own a Momo so I may be a little biased, :XD:)

    10. I'm partial to Momo as well, and agree that either could work! Maybe I can send her some pictures and see what she likes, covert-like, since I'm not sure if she likes the cutesy look or the more mature look ;)

    11. I think that sounds like a good idea! :thumbup

    12. @fourmist: Awww... That's an adorable idea. I'm with the others thought :3 It totally depends on what kind of princess the doll is supposed to be. Like the others I think Momo is more the cute adorable one in apperance (always only in appearance, you never can know for sure what is lurking behind that cute face), while NuanNuan has a more adult and... mischievous expression :3

My personal favourite LS girl is definitly NuanNuan. I just adore her eye shape and that tiny smirk. -^^-

    13. I have found pictures of the new msd girl body^^!

Also, I found comparison picture between the new and the old body from loongsoul blog, but I don't how to upload it:(.

Speaking of bodies:wiggle, Loongsoul released a new msd boy. Now he is even less manly then before:|.... Loongsoul Y No Making Manly MSD:evil:?! I mean c'mon, loongsoul have such an awesome SD boys, they should translate that to their msd's, as well. I like to think of this new body more as a girl looking like traditional bjd child, for some reason it makes think it is in the new 1/4 "baby" catagory, although it isn't that big. Anyways, I'm not a big fan of this new direction; I miss the original unique style of loongsoul which was a perfect bridge between realistic to stylized anime looking doll, not to mention the old jointing system doesn't mixed well with the new dolls as it did with the old ones. Well, this my take on it, what do you think:)?

    14. Thanks so much for those pictures! I'm always suspicious that a faceup or the lighting in a good company photo is what's attracting me rather than a sculpt, so it's great to see owner pictures. I still love all of her details. Do you happen to know which head that is? It's not Wan Wan; is it a Loongsoul head?

I kind of like the new boy sculpt. My MSDs are kids, so I'm kind of the opposite of you -- tired of the overly-mature bodies. That guy has such cute chubby little hands! I already have an MSD boy who is kind of older-looking, like maybe 14, and I was thinking about getting one who was little and cute. I'll have to keep an eye on this.

    15. You're welcome:). I forgot to mention that it's SP Carter/ Carte-1 dollzone head:sweat

Most msd boys are shota kun's. Only lately we get to see more muscular mature msd but all of them are either too realistic or have out of tuch shota kun's heads DX!

I just want to find a suitable boyfriend for my future NuanNuan*:pout:. Dollzone have 3 types of msd boy bodies, wouldn't be the best option for all of us to be able to choose manly msd or child one? I believe Loongsoul can pull it off too!

*One day I will own her!

    16. @Poor collector : Maybe you ought to look into Withdoll guys for a NuanNuan partner? I think they are the perfect mix of muscular male msd without being too realistic or too 'shota' ;3
      IslandDolls Shukaku might also work?
Or you could look into Souldoll. They have two kinds of bodies still avaible for their normal MSD line and a 'third' size in form of the Vito line.
Maybe that's of help to you. ;)

I find myself agreeing that I wish there were options for 'classic' 'child' MSDs, realistic mature Minis and something in-between from each company.
But I guess to find one sculptor able to do all three styles is not that easy. And the companies would have to pay him for each one, without having guarnteed buyers. So I can kinda understand why most only have one option. Not ideal for a collector, but ... yeah.
Also they'd have to be able to provide heads to go with the bodies... ^^°

Considering the amoung of doll companies popping up each year, I'm sure there will be a company for each person's taste one day :3
For now I'm still annoyed with Loongsoul for not modding the damn mermaid tail and releasing MSD NAGA BOYS (GOD DAMNT IT ALREADY!) *huffs*

    17. Thanks for the advice, but I have checked EVERYTHING. Withdoll and IslandDolls don't fit to NuanNuan style, not to mention they have the same thickness of neck like loongsoul female body. Souldoll also doesn't fit her style as well and I'm not big fan of their limited articulation. The closest that I find is the new Dikadoll boy body, but they didn't made new heads for it and I believe the new body shares the same hands from the old one>_>....

Maybe, loongsoul should do the same thing as Dollshe did; using 3D scanner*-*! They can make a MSD versions of the SD and just sculpt new heads*-*! This should became a trend; MAKE ALL SD DOLLS SMALLER!

Think about it, they can make a smaller version of GongGong using 3D scanner;)!

    18. @Poor collector O.o Woha. I didn't even see this body. Okay, now I get what you are looking for in terms of body. Might I ask what you look for in terms of head?
Because Angell-Studio just released a similar new MSD body and they offer color matching. So if you got a head in mind that would work and would work in terms of neck size, you could totally go the route of hybrid :3

Actually they just need to make a mermaid tail, remove the hip tails and mod them shut, remove the tail end and make a snake-tail end and then change the top part to fit with the boys body and ... DONE! u.u
It's probably about an hour worth of work and they'd only have to make about three molds new for the Naga and be able to use the other parts of the mermaid. In fact. They could use the top piece to make male or female Naga and make the option avaible to buy merman... -.-

Eh, I hope they don't shrienk GongGong, because I really, really, really prefer the many small scales of the mermaid tail over what they did with GongGong's snake tail ^^°

    19. I was wondering if anyone here had any owner pictures of an Aaron? I just ordered one from Alice's Collections and I'm super excited for him!
I'm also curious, as a first time Loongsoul owner, about how long do they take usually?
