1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Loongsoul Doll Tiny discussion part 1

Jan 28, 2012

    1. I love it! I feel the need to make one of my own now, but I'll have to do it tomorrow as I am about to go to work. Drat work :/

    2. Hello everyone! I received my first loongsoul doll today, a billy :) His name is Edward, and he'd like to say hi!

    3. Awww he's so cute even blank! Congrats :) His eyes are lovly <3 do you know what colours and styles you are going to have him have yet..? :)

    4. I"m really happy with the color of the eyes he came with, but they are too big for my taste, so I am hoping to find the same color in a smaller size. As for hair, I just can't seem to find a wig that I like, and it's irritating me. I can't decide whether I want blonde, brown, or black, and the style I really love is too big. So I'm looking at a lambskin one at the moment that I'm unsure about too. And I can't decide whether I should be getting a 5/6 wig since his head is a little under 6" or a 6-7 since his head is almost 6" and that size seems to have more options. I'm going to send him off to be painted when I have the money, I'm thinking something dappled, but I have no idea what actual color, since that depends on the wig I choose.

    5. Yes, these cuties do have slightly small heads xD Nero's wig only stays on because his ears hold it in place lol But an elastic band might help :) One of my other dolls who has quite a small head for her size replies on a lilac elastic band to hold her wig on, but it does work a treat :) Hope you settle on a wig choice soon :) I'm having simular issues with a doll who hasn't arrived yet xD Are you able to get to a doll meet perhaps? You can borrow other people's wigs for a minute just to get an idea? Or do you have a selection of wigs laying around or what other dolls have? They don't even have to be the right size, just to give you an idea of the colour? :)

    6. I tried the 'girl' wig... it's a leeke wig and size 6 and it's huge. I do the same... hold it on with his ears ><

    7. Thanks for the suggestions guys! I ended up ordering a grey slightly wavy long wig for him that's parted down the center. My intent is to cut it a bit to be more like another wig that I really wanted but didn't come in a small enough size. Sounds like I should definitely order him a wig cap, or at least plan to have a little help to keep the wig on his head via rubber band, or silicon putty, or something :)

From the stories I've heard about Loongsoul's waiting times, I wasn't expecting him for another month, or maybe 2, so I don't have the $$ saved up to have him painted yet, and felt bad that he's basically standing around naked, so I made him a reversible horse blanket to keep him warm :) I also found that I can balance him on his front legs!

      "Look, Ma! NO HANDS!"

    8. I love his horse blanket, I should make some of those for all my poor under dressed centaurs! How are you planning on blushing him?

    9. The blanket was super easy, and I'm looking forward to making a few more of them for Edward to wear until I can get his blushing done, and also for storage to help protect his blushing too. Depending on what my artist thinks (she always seems to know what the perfect thing is!) and if the wig I bought works out, I'm thinking I'd like him to be white, grey, and black, with dapples and sort of faded gradient legs.

Here's the other side of the blanket. I like the green side best, but the red just seems so autumn!

We definitely need more centaur spam in here.

    10. I agree the red fits the season! I feel like he should be wearing that standing in a pile of leaves or something! I'll have to get my boy out for pictures soon!

    11. I am in the middle of paying my layway for a LS centaur(Bessie). These pics help soothe the wait! :)Do they come partly assembled to you?

    12. My Billy came in two parts and you have to attach the front to the back with the tail

That is one of the pictures from my box opening, hopefully it helps give you an idea. I can't wait to see your Bessie!

    13. I didn't take any pictures of the unassembled pieces, but the front body, the back body, the tails, and the head are all separate. The front body has an shook and a metal ring in it to keep its stringing where its easy to reach. From reading threads I believe you are supposed to remove that ring and attach the s hook to a tail, however, I will say that the body does stay together well enough if you add another s hook to the elastic in the back body and attach it to the ring. I did this because I didn't know any better, and I decided to leave it that way until I have him blushed, since it will be easier for my artist that way.

    14. thanks! this will be my first bjd so I have no idea what to expect! hopefully the stringing wont be too problematic. Im also not sure if i should assemble her right away b/c I want to give her some body color, though i just plan to paint her hooves and tail, and will probably also need to seal her.

    15. You certainly won't be disappointed. Edward was my 15th doll (I've sold a few here and there so I'm actually only at 10 right now, but still) and I think I might be ruined for other dolls quality-wise now, lol. Now if only his wig would hurry up and get here!! Can't wait to see your girl when she arrives.

    16. aww so cute! I think its funny so many people take pics of their dolls b4 they get their face-ups. I happen to like how dolls look like b4 they are painted myself, theres something pure looking about them and I think it shows off the artistry in the sculpt better...

    17. There is a certain beauty to the unpainted dolls, thats for sure! But I am really looking forward to having Edward painted up properly! I just have to save up some money first, since I'm going to have his head and his whole body done at once, which means extra shipping costs, full insurance both ways, and a steeper fee for painting than I usually pay since normally its only a face, and this time its a face and a whole horse body! I'm not sure how people can manage not to ever post a pic of their doll without a faceup, I'm so excited when I get one that I just have to post about it like RIGHT NOW!!!

And here's another shot from our little adventure today :)

    18. I finally found the spare wig (boy it needs some care ><) so Enyu got to try on his new 'dress' ;p Not quite a great fit since it wants to sit too low in front, I think it's the size of his arms and placement compared to the Iple dolls that the dress is made for? A bit of lace at the top would cover where his chest seems to want to peek out lol but still, here he ... or should I say 'she' is!

      Little "Miss" Enyu :)

    19. Awh, Enyu is super cute! Boyish or Girly, it doesn't matter, lol. still super cute!

My 5yr son drew a picture of Edward today. It was adorable!
