It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Love at first sight?

Jun 13, 2014

    1. when i was choosing my first boy, i thought when the moment i was seeing and making decision is already first sight love.
but i realize it wasn't that strong until the 2nd boy come.
when i saw my 2nd boy official photo, i was like going crazy and make the payment at the next moment.
after the moment i payed only i got relief!! oh my god. i was like if i couldn't get him i will passed out.
the love at first sight feeling is stronger than my first boy..

    2. Ohhh~ I have that experience! I was at the Singapore Doll Carnival last year (2014) and I saw this boy with the sweetest face I have ever seen from SSeiren and he just keeps calling out to me! His features tugs my heartstrings! I'm so happy that he is available in their website now! Gonna make my 2nd Grail Doll come true^^

    3. So far, I fell for a few xDD I was really in love with FL's pongpong ver 2 company picture so I bought him right away!! The others are all from Volks...FSC mostly, but they are all with custom face up!! But I am not planning to get them any time soon

    4. Well, I knew about BJD's and thought they were nice, but didn't really want one or ever seriously consider owning one... then I saw Napidoll Lucifer and it was all over! Suddenly I had to have a doll. I still waited a while and did lots of research as I would with any big purchase (I'm a huge worrywart about everything), and was so happy when I finally ordered him and got him home!
The second sculpt I'd say I fell in love with at first sight was Granado Void. She's completely different from the type of sculpt I normally am interested in, but she's really fascinating for some reason. And beautiful. Unfortunately I didn't get her before the company discontinued her, but she's still high on my wishlist.

    5. Of course I have!! Volks creamy mami, yu morisawa, lieselotte, and Alice!!!!!!!

    6. I saw Dream of Doll Duncan and my heart still hasn't recovered </3

    7. I usually fall for a doll at first sight, but it's rare that I stay in love for a while. Usually after a couple of weeks, I can tell that I don't need the doll, that I'm happy seeing pics of it. The ones that remain are usually those that I didn't like or thought, "Cute, but. . . not for me" at first! My SD, a Volks SD Nana, was like that.

However, occasionally, there's a lasting connection with a love-at-first-sight doll. DD Melty and Oceanmoon Lin and Eun-Ryoung, for example. We'll see how I feel when I've saved up enough to purchase one, but I think they're keepers!

    8. I've experienced that with a handful of dolls now. One was the first time I saw a BJD which was DOD Ducan. Dang, I really wanted him that time! Though that was when I was a young highschool girl and I didn't know any other companies aside from dream of doll. Now, I did my research and fell in love with other dolls from different companies. Sadly, the one I loved the most was a limited OTL Kelp from luts, he looked EXACTLY like my precious and most favorite oc. It's sad :< haha. But I did have a love at first sight doll again, and he isn't limited so I ordered him as my second doll and he is currently on layaway which is yay U v U~ though I still feel bad that I missed that LE doll haha! It's just not meant to be~

    9. Yes! The doll that got me in the hobby was a case of love at first sight. I'd almost talked myself out of getting started in the BJD hobby, saying to myself, "yeah, they're kinda neat, they're really beautiful, but not really me." Then the Dollshe Hound came out.

I HAD to get him! After that, I started looking for that "click," that moment when you know this is truly one that you want. There are a couple of dolls that came home without that moment, but most were love at first sight.

    10. Once~ I've laid eyes on a pukipuki pongpong and I instantly fell for her! I lost sleep because of her because I was trying to save up like crazy >< But in the end, I failed to get her :...(

    11. My first love at first site were SD Narae & Narin & Coccori. I was lucky enough to find them on the secondary market shortly after I started buying. Another was Boding, Boding Sharmin. My Choa & Ceebee with Evenstar face-upswere immediate loves, no thought went into those. It was see, click, buy. Iplehouse Aaron was yet another I knew I had to have as were Souldoll Asiter & Xii. More recently Souldoll's Yeeon-be & Bonnie were love at first site as was Mydolling Heeah. Really most of my current dolls were really first or second sight loves. A couple of years ago I sold off all the ones that didn't make my heart go pitty-pat.

    12. My first doll was not a love at first sight. :)
My very love at first sight is Dollmore's Judith Doll Zinna. I'm waiting for her... I hope she will arrive soon... <3

    13. twice, the first doll is soom hyperon, when I saw the pictures on a website,I fall love in him.the second doll is soom eden, she is very beautiful and have a noble temperament ,I decide I will get them, and let them be a couple

    14. Sort of. I saw the most perfect doll, but it took me quite awhile to actually decide to get him. I've never found a doll that I HAVE TO BUY RIGHT NOW. I wait awhile to see if it's a doll that I really want before purchasing.

    15. I like this question.
I decided to order my first doll because I fell in love with his picture. Between I waiting him from company,I search many his picture from everywhere.( Stoker?, NO!!! I am not.) and now I very love him.

      Yes,I believe in first sight.

    16. I am head over heels for Impl Avery. He has such a wonderful facial expression and his ears are so unique and cute. I've been in love with him for a while now and even though he doesn't cost as much as dolls I've ordered since discovering him, I'm happy just dreaming about him. I don't think I've ordered him yet purely because I can't decide on a skin color -- but as soon as I do, my little love will come home to me :D

    17. I fell in love at first sight with my impldoll Azalea, and I am very happy with her. :)

    18. Fairyland Mirwan and 5th Motif Venitu are my love at first sight. Venitu is on the way home, I'm so exited. :aheartbea:dance

    19. Thats how I felt with Little Monica's Elena. But after a while I saw other dolls I liked just as much. I'd still really like to get her, but i'd get her a custom face up.

    20. Mine wasn't so much love at first sight, it was love at first pose. I'd admired a lot of dolls online, but had no real problem resisting them. I just don't have that kind of money. Besides, I wasn't what you would call a doll person. I'm still not. I am, however, an LTF, specifically Shiwoo, more specifically Wiishu person. My wonderful online friend Onna brought a bunch of her dolls of various sizes and types to an SF convention. A couple of others who have become wonderful friends brought still more. I was quite fascinated, but not really tempted...until I laid eyes and hands on Onna's little Chi. (an LTF shiwoo) I kept going back to this adorable, crazy-posing little guy. The final day of the con, Onna showed up with a box and in the box was this amazing little resin person who pretty much changed my life. I'll never look at flowers or butterflies...or much of anything else the same way again. The other I fell in love with was the little pukipuki pukisha...and one of those came into my life a few months later. It's been over two years now, and I've still never been truly tempted by any other dolls. (Tho you will note I have a few others...but they were purchased for practical (yes, practical! :D) reasons, not love.)

Here's my little guy sitting beside me while I work, waiting for raspberry teacakes.
