Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.     1. 5 Star Tumnus was love at first sight, and it did not take me long to decide to get him because 5 Star was having an event and I could actually afford him.

      5 Star Becca was also l.a.f.s. but everyone I talked to said they thought she was a bad choice. I started doubting my own feelings, but then realized I needed to go with my own heart and not listen to anyone else. Now Becca is on layaway and I can't wait for them to tell me she's ready so I can get her. I know I'll love her.

    3. I was wondering if there was ever a bjd, that you saw a company or home photo of and immediately had to own it?

      For me it was Luts Kid delf Ani, I found her on the luts site. Saw the pictures of her, and her faceup and immediately had to create an OC. I immediately knew I wanted to get her and knew I was going to create a character for her. I now have (a complete profile in fact :D) and am hoping to get her for Christmas.

    4. Taurus from IOS, nothing could be more perfect. If they do more animal skull heads, I may be in trouble.

      I will get him next year and I already know how his character will be, and know how he will interact with the other characters.

    5. I find that with a lot of my OCs. I see a doll and just know. Two of my favorite characters--and first hero/villain (rogue) pair were Iplehouse Aria and Andrew, particularly Andrew. I saw his face and went "you're Brent". XD

    6. Twice, that I can remember.

      The first was my first doll, a Bobobie Sprite, who has a face perfect for one of my oldest male OCs. A quick gender swap request, and he was on his way home shortly after.

      The other was Soom Amber, who I owned for a short period, but while her promotional photos were gorgeous and made me fall in love with her, it didn't last when she was here, and she moved on after about a year.

    8. This absolutely happened to me! It was the Dollzone Anson...it was absolutely love at first sight with her (like instant Grail doll) and I was prepared to move heaven and earth to bring her home. I literally stalked Denver Doll until she was finally released, and ordered her the moment they activated her purchase button. It turned out to be a very good thing that I did too, because she was suddenly and surprisingly cancelled only 3 months later do to production and shipping issues (owing to the rather easy breakage of her delicate petals.) To this day, she still takes my breath away whenever I look at her...she is still my holy grail, and I absolutely adore her.:)

    13. When I first say DollZone's Brant I had to have him, and I completely fell in love with his fullset clothes. Unfortunately, I've rather fallen out of love with him seeing as how he's "complete" and there's nothing out there that really called to me for him. There's also Volks Lieselotte but I'm not dropping 2k plus on her, even though I love her dearly.

    16. Oona, my Batchix Lagoon, started it all. I'd looked at photos of many other BJDs and always thought they were so cool and arty and strange, but I never really considered buying one and starting a new type of collection. And then I saw Oona and immediately thought I WILL OWN THAT FABULOUS THING. She's still my favorite!

    18. Yes I have definitely had this happen :) For the most part, my current dolls have all been love at first sight. I think that is why they have been with me the longest. The ones I've had that I was drawn to but not head-over-heels for all have new homes now. I just never connected as deeply with them, even though they were aesthetically beautiful. I think that we kind of connect to the "soul" of the doll, which is what makes us feel so much closer to some than others. I feel like when we see "the one" (or, let's be real, one of "the ones" :sweat), what we see, our imagination, and our hearts are all in sync and there's this magic that happens beyond just the thought of, "wow, so pretty." Maybe I'm rambling, but I feel like when you see the one, you know <3

    20. I really loved my Angell Studio Cynthia at first sight. She was my first ever bjd, and seeing company pics of her made me fall head over heels. She's the first bad to ever really get that reaction from me either.
