Love at first sight?

Only one so far! I've lurked and admired dolls for many years, but DZ anson/ moment are the only ones that have just " grabbed" me and demanded to be sought out.
my first doll ( planetdoll mong mong) was love at first sight at all, but you could see potential in her cuteness.

 

For me it has to be Loong Soul Anabelle. I love her so much, one day she will be mine!

 

Most of my dolls fall under 'love at first sight'.... that and when I keep going back and having the same 'happy' reaction. That being said my first actual bjd was an instant LAFS 'and' an almost instant buy. I say almost because it took me a bit to 'find' him lol. The doll in my icon in fact ^^. I saw him in an add for an "outfit" first... bought it and went looking for the doll is was made for lol. Buying him took only as long as it took me to figure out the pay system LOL. He was the 'all my character types (of a sort)... all rolled into one'. He was like the perfect composit for a genre of characters...

But generally all my dolls are ones I've instantly loved and "kept" loving.... the second part is the important part. Yes the love is instant... but it's the fact that I keep being drawn back that makes it "lasting" love ^^

 

Yes love at first sight has happened to me... Maskcat Ronia... and even now after 8 months of sharing my space with her, I am amazed by how much I still love her.

 

Oh yes Grace, I fell in love immediately with the dark skinned Iplehouse Benny and she WILL be mine before too long!! Her face is really different from the usual. I rather fancy the normal skin tone Benny as Elizabeth Bennett .....

 

I fell completely in love with the Doll Chateau Carol when I saw her and I was so sad that she was only an event doll, but when I saw that Alice's Collection was selling her separately I immediately bought the full set

 

Yes, definitely! The first BJD I saw and fell in love with was Dollzone Vita-2 and now she's on layaway and will be paid off next month!

 

I think it was serious love at first sight for me when I discovered the Volks Harajuku doll line. Every one that previously came out and every one after that I loved straight away. I'm happy to say I now own a Bianka which was one of my favorites, but my holy grail from that series is either Lieselotte or Miruku.

Volks' Creamy Mami is an interesting mold for me because it wasn't actually love at first sight with the stock pictures, but once I saw owner pictures, I completely fell in love with her. A character for her immediately popped into my head and I love it. Often I'm so bad at thinking of characters and it never occurs to me until I have this doll with a blank personality sitting in front of me, but with her I'm ready to just start putting her together the second I get my hands on her. I can't wait. Hilariously enough she'll be my third doll but my first one to have a solid personality. My second one sorta has one, and my first one is still sitting in a box under my bed because I have no idea what to do with her whatsoever.

 

The very first doll I ever fell in love with was an Iplehouse Tania, but as soon as I saw the fullset for Doll Chateau's Queena I completely forgot any other doll had ever existed! I'm not quite sure what it is about her, but I adore every Queena I've seen since, regardless of if they have the extra limbs, their faceup, or what they're wearing. I think something about the sculpt just really appeals to me, and I've found myself considering dolls I don't otherwise like just because their face is similar! Hopefully I'll own her sometime soon.

 

This list still stands (and I still own all those dolls, though three of them have switched bodies about a dozen times), but I feel like I have to add a couple more to it now.

Dollzone Carter - Another one I almost died when I saw his weird expression and teeth (two of my favorite things)

Iplehouse SID Claude (Elemental Guardian), I saw him and instantly fell in love, I knew he was the perfect sculpt for my OC Blade~

 

Three times, and I'm lucky enough to own all three: Elfdoll Rita, my very first BJD; Iplehouse Lisa; and Souldoll Robb. I love all 6 of my dolls but those 3 were the ones I absolutely knew I had to have the very first time I saw their sales photos. I'm so fortunate to have them--- Rita was discontinued along with all the other Elfdoll girls very shortly after I got mine, so I very nearly missed her. When Iplehouse released Lisa as part of the Addiction series, there was absolutely no way I had the money for a doll ourchase during her sales period... it was 100% out of the question. So I was beyond excited to find a Lisa head on the Marketplace the next January! And as for Robb, I am still so happy that I was actually able to afford putting him on layaway when his order period was open. He doesn't seem to have been too popular, so it likely would have been super hard to find one secondhand. All 3 of my loves at first sight have only grown on me the longer I've had them

 

The one doll where it has been like love at first site was when I was on deviant art looking at photos and I saw pictures of an artist's Soom Phonolus with Ender's head. I knew I had to find that doll. And I realized Phonolus was a limited doll so I was pretty disappointed. But hopefully I can find him used or maybe Soom will release him again or have a choice event with him.

 

Lillycat Ellana, the first time I saw her I fell in love with her right away. I love all of her resin colors, and I wish I could own them all, she is restocked right now and I'm fighting everything inside of me not to buy another one. Actually, all the cerisedolls have me hooked, I love all of her sculpts and I can't wait for her to release her new line next year, her new sculpt Gabriel(a) is looking too good, I want her day one.



Luts Aragorn, I found this sculpt at random when shopping for my first boy and I of course couldn't resist him. I kept going back to him non-stop and finally decided that this was the sculpt that I was going to keep and enjoy no matter what. I want to buy another one, probably in a darker resin color, but I know for a fact this would be the sculpt I would never, ever sell or get tired of. I might like my other bjd a lot and love them, but if push came to shove, he would be the one that would stay if I ever had to sell them.

 

DD Rin and now she's getting a re-release so I'm quite happy about that. I also adored DDdy Sasara when I saw her at a convention too and managed to get her last year. Apparently the winter Dolpa from Volks seems to release the dolls that I NEED haha.

 

Soom is actually having a free choice event for both R. Phonolus and Ender. If you are interested in getting your grail doll. Event ends next Wednesday.

My love at first sight dolls would be Hyperon, Gluino, Aslan and Ringdoll K (who is high on my wishlist).

 

Dollzone Benjamin (who is the only mini I ever thought I would want until I saw the Sleeping Scarecrow Hal event head that will be included with him, so now that guy's getting a body...), Dollzone Robin, and DollClans Kien, all of whom I have secured, and most recently for the pipe dream wishlist, Doll Chateau Fergus, can't stop thinking about that guy. He looks so sweet and friendly. Big Doll Chateau fan here.

Also Angel of Dream Yue, not just because of the size but I actually really like his sculpt, I didn't expect to like any of them. They all have delightful noses!

 

Love at first sight has happened a few times. I suppose the most significant times are when I find a new artist and their works in progress. A number of times I've just reached out to them about about their work and if they have an ordering period. Then I just wait to pounce like a creepster when it's released. The most recent doll is the new little tiny AmonD from YG (be with you). He's brown, he's tiny and his urban outfit is adorable. I was powerless to resist and I generally collect the big guys 62cm +.

 

My favorite company is Dream of Doll and Rain is by far my favorite of their dolls. From the moment I saw his face I loved him so much. I wish I had the money to buy him now but some day I'll save up for him. Also only kids Pine, I'll probably get him sooner than Rain. But out of all the dolls I've seen those are the main two that I just fell in love the first time I saw them.

 

The first doll I was so serious about owning was a DIM Flowne on a GSE body. I chickened out on getting her, because I'm still new to buying thing internationally. However, I hope to own her one day.
