Yup, I got my lay away started on the 2nd of April. Half way through now. Should be paying him off just before 4th of July!

 

Oh no, 80 is TOO big for me! But I did indulge in one of her Tiny boys not long ago, a little grey Lucas. :p He's a purse size muscle baby

Okay, but to keep on topic for the thread, what are your plans for Vega, Aernath??

 

I will hold him and pet him and call him George...
I'll name him in vain before he gets here, and he'll refuse the name and any clothes I think he might like...
We'll try on wig after wig until he finally consents to one. Probably some ghastly, high-maintenance thing... lol
I'll make him pose with his bigger Usil brothers, and he'll feel inadequate, and start plotting his revenge on me.
I will try on every pair of expensive eyes I have on hand, and he'll go for the cheap acrylics.

You know, the usual.

 

Now I feel guilty for liking the name Vega too much to give him something original.....in your experience has the name you've picked change after you get the doll? Total noob question but still related to Vega! I simply like the name so much, and have been referring to him as Vega and it just feels like the right option?

 

Oh! I would go with whatever name you feel suits the Doll! There are no rules for that!
I just personally have terrible luck having a name in mind before a doll arrives. So often, they end up being quite different from what I had imagined. These days, I just wait for them to arrive before I go to work on them. Though there are still a few that I get hit with a name shortly after seeing their photos, and I know then, that I am sunk and going to have to get that particular doll, or forever live with the regret.

One example I like to mention is when I got my Monzo. I thought he would have eyes with black sclera, white irises, wear a black or grey wig, and his name would be Flint - because we live near the Flint Hills, and I could get pictures of him next to this huge stone sign that says Flint Hills on it.... I had everything in hand when he arrived from Soom....
And nothing looked right! Absolutely nothing! He ended up wearing a purple wig I had gotten for a planned purchase of Epidos, some regular glass eyes with purple irises, and said his name was Slate, thankyouverymuch!
All that works great on him, and I love him a lot, but what a pest he was! lol And not at ALL what I had planned!

 

So! I got an email telling me my next payment invoice had been sent, and oh by the way, he is done!
So! I paid him off. I thought I only had two more payments to go, but turns out I lost count and there were three. *gulp*
But the cc took care of it, and now it shouldn't be too much longer!

 

Congratulations, aernath! You'll absolutely love your guy when he arrives! He's a truly marvelous and realistic sculpt, and poses great too!

I got so caught up in Iple hype I almost forgot about him So I got excited for him all over again!!

Woohoooo! He's here, and his name is Emmett - after Scott Glenn in Silverado... dunno why, he just has an air of serenity and wisdom.... that have nothing to do with the character in the film, but more of the actor (a long-time fave).

Pictures in a bit! Just got some clothes on him and a wig. He's blank, so another face that needs to be done.
But yes! I Love him!

His Tan is a richer, slightly darker version of other Normal resins I've seen. More peach, less pink. I like it!

For reference, he's wearing SoulDoll Zenith shirt and jacket (just a teeny tiny bit short in the sleeves for me), and Iple SID jeans (just a touch short in the legs, and big in the waist but a belt helps). And you can't see them, but he's wearing Leeke sneakers in size... LL I think.

 

Gorgeous!! You're right, his features are very serene. I can't wait to see what you do in terms of face-up! Is this HIS wig, or did you just plop one one his head? I've seen that some of your boys can be a bit stubborn in picking a look.

I can't wait to see how he looks in white when mine comes in a few months!

I love her "tan" shade. It's so light and natural. More like the darker Normal colors companies used to produce (like 8-10 years ago haha oh god I've been in this hobby too long help!)

 

I think this is his wig. It matches the grey eyes he came with (and that I like!).
Yep, quite a few are stubborn with their looks! Thankfully this guy was pretty easy. We went through a few wigs, and decided this one looks good. But yeah, I just plopped this one on his head and thought hey! Not bad!

He will look great in white! Can't wait to see him!
