Luts Delf Discussion - thread 2

Does any one know how heavy the new delfs are and are the portable

 

Ecmm Delurking for a moment because I can answer this question. I don't have my Arwen anymore, but she was here with my wife's If who's on the old Delf Type 2, and I can tell you that while LUTS hasn't updated the Delf girls to double joints (and they may never, I don't know if they own the rights to the jointing system the Type3/4 Delf boys use), they did change the shape of her ball joints enough so that she does have some improved poseability. She can bend her elbow a little more than 90 degrees now and her knees have a lock so that she stands securely (the old Delfs are super kicky). I don't know how much LUTS is allowed to modify the bodies they got from CP with this line, but they have made some improvements.

MittenMaxi951 They're a lot lighter than most 60cm dolls, but you can't throw one in your purse and take it with you easily. Unless your purse is really big. XD

 

The boys were updated a long time ago, before the whole CP/Fairyland/Luts drama. I got my double jointed type three body back in 2007. I just feel like they will never give the girls an upgraded body option.

I do not have any of the newer Delf bodies, but I hope Amet's response is helpful to you.

 

Thanks very much both Amet and Tonboko I think the bodies will be just fine for me as I am not super demanding. Just thought I would check, if there WAS a likely update coming then I would wait. Also, I didn't realise the boy bodies had been done so long ago. Good! I can start saving my pennies then
I think I will bring home a Blanchet on a Delf body first~ I found some stunning owner photos of her the other day but now I can't find them. Silly me, should've saved them!
But I adore Aragorn in the RSB, he will follow!

I hope this is a good enough answer for you.
My Libian (delf Claus) weighs about 1.4 kg, I don't have other bjd's to compare to, but his weight isn't that much to me.

As for portability, I bought a large bag which I carry him around in (stuffed with pillows for safety).
He sits nicely and comfortably in the bag, and there's space for accessories and clothes.

The bag is quite large as you can see, and weighs about 2.8kg with him in it. A while ago I had him on me the whole day and I can definitely say that the weight didn't bother me nearly as much as the size of the bag did, and that wasn't too bothersome either.
So I'd say that if you have a nicely shaped/sized bag, delfs are quite portable.
But again, he is my only doll at the moment, so I can't really compare to other bjd's, just porcelain dolls

 

I just got a Nina in a semi-impulsive trade and oh my god why don't more people have her???



Her wig is a big fluffy so I may get something else, but lawdy is she pretty.

 

Ahhhhhhhhhh she's so pretty with blue eyes now. I get her clothes on Tuesday and then I'm going on a massive photo spree~

I haven't been on this thread in a while, mainly because I opted for the new Senior Delf body on my Karis @__@. I remember someone here said they did a MyChoice with him on the Delf body and I wanted to know how it turned out.

Nice seeing all the lovely girls here, by the way! The new Delf girls don't get much love (from what I've been seeing), but they're all beautiful ><. Ju Hee and Arwen are my favorites! @KisakiSama speaking of Arwen, your girl is gorgeous! I love her faceup, as well as the little gold details I'm seeing

 

My Arwen arrived the other day and she is just stunning. ^_^

 

@mionnaise - Sorry! I only just saw your post about my Karis as I popped in here to post a group pic of four of my new Delfs... However, as it happens I also took a photo of Karis (who still hasn't been forthcoming in telling me his name) today, I'll now post that instead!



I could say he's wearing a Halloween costume, only... He's not. Although not at all planned, this is the look he seems to like.

I'm surprised it doesn't look super dark from what I've seen @__@ I ordered the newer SDF body for my Karis, but it's nice to see some variation!

 

I have only recently joined this forum, so first off; Ello everyone it is a pleasure to meet you. I will admit I've been a lurker however and I particularly enjoy everyone's pictures. I'm saving up for my second doll now, I plan for it to be a custom face up Ju Hee and I would really appreciate it if other owners of her would be willing to share their pictures? I find seeing owner pictures of the dolls give me a better idea of the doll than the stock images do (and I really love owner pictures) Thanks!

 

@Peppermint Hippo Hello! I don't own a Ju Hee, but I found a box-opening thread and some photos on flikr. It's not much, but sometimes company photos are all you can go on with the less popular sculpts. I only saw like one Joe when I was anticipating my own.

I've got Juhee and she's super lovely, that I can say I recommend real skin normal skin ju hee! There are lot of white skin juhee pics on flicker (just check out Sm. Links) (and a few brown skin ones if you want to see how she looks like that way
