1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Luts Delf Discussion - thread 2

Jul 16, 2014

1. I am loving Luts SDFs right now! Why are they so beautiful?? I've never had a Luts doll before but I'm thinking that needs to change!!

2. In September, I may be able to get the boy of my dreams(and my first SD!); Karis. *__* He's advertised as a Senior Delf, but would his proportions be alright if I got him the Delf body instead? SDF bodies are too big for my tastes, JDF isn't an option atm and I really love the looks of Delf bodies in general. Has anyone had luck putting on a SDF head on these? Thank you in advance! :aheartbea

3. I put my SDF event head on a delf body just to check the proportions and I'd say it would work fine on a delf body :3
The SDF head was actually smaller than the delf head (circumference-wise), but to me it looks like delf faces are narrower?

And congratulations! Karis is handsome!

4. @MiyukiChan Thank you very much!! That's what I thought too after checking measurements for some of the other delf sculpts. I personally have never seen or handled an SD size doll myself so this is all going to be a blind experience for me. It's very nerve-wracking but the excitement is still there ^^.

Right? He's gorgeous T__T. I can't wait to send the order so they can make him already...

5. I hope you like having an SD! I used to think I was going to have all MSD sized dolls and ended up with a bunch of SDs xD
I think the Delf body is a good choice for first time SD owners because it's not as intimidating compared to the bigger bodies, because it's smaller and softer.

6. I'm actually waiting for a (My Choice) Senior Delf Karis on a Type 4 Delf body at the moment. :). My fingers are crossed that he'll arrive this month.

For now though, here's a pic of my Aragorn, Will, with Ethan, who is a Limited Senior Delf Quintus on a Type 4 Delf body (plus bonus KDFs - Kelp & Bory). The Quintus has the smallest head of any 60cm doll I've ever seen - but I just love him and am happy with him on the Delf body.

I hope you get to order your Karis soon!

7. MiyukiChan I started with the hobby with MSDs and theres very little you can give them ;-; all clothing that look so nice are for SDs only. I can't even imagine how my collection will look like when there's one really big doll in it @__@ And I agree! The bodies look "young" as opposed to the regular SDF body which is hella muscular, and I think it looks odd for a teen-looking sculpt.

talithax Oh my goodness that's exactly what I'm doing too T__T Your boys look lovely! Even if Quintus' head is smaller it doesn't look bad at all, it's nice to see variation with the bodies so I feel relieved with my choices ^^. And thank you! I can't make any purchases overseas, but when I return to the states I wont even think twice on placing my order. Keep us updated with your Karis, I would love to see him <3

8. I think the SDF/DF heads and bodies are all fairly interchangeable. I have a Claus on a SDF body at the moment, and it looks fine (though Claus has a tiny head, but with the wig it's not noticeable). It makes it rather nice to be able to get the height/type of body you prefer!

I look forward to seeing the new faces around the thread!

9. Just popping in to ask what might be a silly question. I am thinking of getting a Claus head but doing it up as a girl. Does anyone have pictures of a Claus girl and I was wondering if there might be a problem with the neck if I put an ostensibly "male" sculpt on a female Luts body (a seem to remember a time when gender swapping of heads was an issue because of neck size . . . )

any help appreicated

10. I found one photo!

I do not think doing a hybrid will be too hard. Worse case scenario, you can use a method like this to adapt the head to fit the smaller neck. :)

11. Thanks Tonboko! I thought I could jerry-rig something like that if need be. I was just wondering if anyone had encountered it themselves yet. A female Claus seems to be a rare beast!

12. I have an Arwen on the way and could try my Claus head on her body, but she likely won't be here until the end of the month. If no one else has come forth before then, I'll snag some pics!

13. I have a Claus and a couple of the new girls (Clary & Nina) - if I remember I'll try to take a head swap photo for you on the weekend... (He does, however, have the default face up, so I'm not sure how feminine he'll look!)

14. thanks for thinking of me talithax . . . I would be interested in seeing it regardless, even though it looks like I won't have the funds to do buy a girlie Claus now (as the university I work for cancelled a class I teach and effectively cut my income by 1/3). But seeing those pictures would likely cheer me up! :)

15. Sorry to hear about the cancelled class. (Perhaps keep an eye on the marketplace. Poor Claus. His head seems to pop up quite often...)

I took a (badly lit) pic of what happens when Claus & Clary swap heads for you today. :) They look alright from a distance, and with wigs covering where their heads connect to their necks they'd probably more or less work. Up close though... Clary's head just perches on the boy neck, and Claus'... 'hangs over'... the girl body.

16. Thanks for that info, talithax. It does help. It makes not being able to do this project right now hurt a bit less . . .

17. Hi everyone! I had a question about the Delf bodies! The boy Delf bodies have double joints & mobility joints on the hip, but the girl body doesn't. Is this to do with the CP/Luts split? Were they allowed to adjust the boy body/was it not made at the time, but they can't to the girl body? I'm just curious because I've only had double jointed bodies before and I guess I'm concerned about the poseability. I also would rather wait if they did have plans to modify the girl body.

It is so lovely (I much prefer the proportions/style of the DF to the SDF body) that as long as people feel they still are capable of strong poses then it wouldn't bother me! I'd love to hear people's opinions :)

(If anyone's interested, I plan to get either a SDF Harmoney or SDF Blanchet head on a DF body, and then her boyfriend Aragon too! And maybe later a sulky Sherard V2 on the DF body~)

Edit: I'd love to see Delf girls standing next to some boys too! Either Delf bodies or SDF bodies!

18. It is not just Luts that seems to neglect the mobility of the girls vs the boys. It seems companies want to keep the girls line's smoother for aesthetics's sake. I want my girls to be as mobile as my boys and personally find it ridiculous that the boys can sit "cute Japanese anime girl style" and the girls cannot!

19. I'm not sure if Luts will ever update the delf bodies (as they are) because I'm not sure they fully own it. If anything, they would create a whole new delf body that they owned 100%. I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that the bodies they're using are old CP bodies, and they may not have the rights to alter them.

20. Thank you for the responses! How would you rate their poseability though, Tonboko? I haven't had an SD sized doll before, but my dolls mainly just sit and stand. Are they good/standard compared to most SDs?
Duskblue, I had a feeling it might be to do with the copyrights and such. It's a shame as I much prefer the aesthetic of the Delf bodies to the SDF. I'm just not a fan of huge boobs (too hard to sew for!) and tiny waists.

Do you guys know when the boys body got an update? Or has it always been double jointed?
