Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Luts Kid Delf Discussion part 17

Jan 9, 2022

    1. My Bory obsession is real, yall... :chomp: I caved in and got the vamp version in White after wanting a WS Bory for years :abow:
If they release an elf version with upturned pointy ears like these some time in the future as well, I might just get another one... :evilplot:

    2. I'm excited for you getting a Bory vampire! I already have a Bory and am not the sort to get more than one of the same sculpt, otherwise I'd badly want one lol.

    3. @Snow White Thank you for sharing your Bloody Mary Bory Boy! I'd had to turn him down when he was released... (only to get an SD Bory head later) but I think I'll be regretting that decision for a while. I love fantasy resin.
@Niel You'll have to share pics if you get him faced up! I felt the same about the Sweety Romance Bory head last summer (or spring?) and I ended up getting him, but the vampire is even better for the character I'd envisioned.

    5. The wig is wonderful. She looks so cute in it. You have golden hands!

    6. They’ve released the list of dolls they’re discontinuing, and it’s pretty extensive. There’s a link within the announcement to view them all

      lutsdoll co.,ltd.

Looks like the sale on them starts 10/27 & ends 11/21.

    7. I'm honestly surprised there are few of the newer sculpts among the discontinued ones too, I was pretty sure it would be older, no longer popular, sculpts only but I guess these are sculpts that never managed to get popular in the first place. :horror:

On a quick glance nothing I'd absolutely need but it's still sad to see all these dolls get discontinued.

    8. It seems luts only wants to make big male dolls from now on. I feel that is the main drive of the hobby now. The hobby itself is on the way out I feel. The dolls are overpriced now with how technology has changed and so new companies are offering cheaper dolls that are just as nice. More competition and a smaller fanbase spread out over it all.

    9. So sad to see how many Kid Delfs are getting discontinued :( Even though there’s a lot I have never personally wanted, I’ve loved seeing others get them.

There are a bunch of larger dolls that I’ve really liked for a while but I figured they would be on the chopping block, it’s not as much of a surprise. Kid Delfs still seemed to be popular? I dunno.

Glad I got Lemon recently, she’s the main one I would have been absolutely crushed to have missed out on.

mocha and aronia are 2 sculpt i always wanted but never ordered, but i dont feel like i absoultely need them anymore

    11. Nooooooo, not brownie! There's just too many. I am surprised, as well, how many recent sculpts are getting discontinued.

    12. I am sad to see Ttori go, but I am happy Ani will be sticking around.

    13. How are y'all able to tell who is staying and going? I've been trying to figure out which sculpts I can't pass on.

Here's the link to the archive!

I'm kinda sad about Kid Delf Annamarie going. I used to want to make my Rika and an Annamarie twins, but I started to prefer larger dolls. Although part of me wants to maybe get her before she's gone.

    15. Yikes that is a lot of classic KDFs. Time to get on that Coco bandwagon. Is anyone considering buying just heads to hybrid? I've always liked Apple and Peach, might get them as heads to hybrid.

    16. I feel like recently they started focusing on getting the same few sculpts out in every size, with very little innovation or interesting new faces. I like some of their newest molds, but most were a bit meh. And when it comes to bodies, compared to some other companies that offer new, more detailed designs more often...:sigh
The hobby is nothing like it used to be. And Luts, I feel like, used to really focus on their Kid Delfs, but shifted towards 70-75+ size due to Switch's popularity, at least in Korea. It's such a pity. Imo, they have their own charm. But it's probably not that profitable anymore to support so many unpopular sculpts. Maybe we'll see some of them return in limited runs tho?
They have also started supporting many independent sculptors (which is great!), helping them get their works out in Luts skin colours, so maybe they want to try and go that route instead?

    17. I wouldn't say so much Switch's popularity as Idealian's. And Voices. Some of the new big boys Luts makes straight up look like Idealians. Just being blunt with my own opinion here, Luts has definitely lost their creative edge and what makes them unique (and their new bodies look like ten steps backwards, it's very strange, especially the lanky kid45 and muse). They aren't willing to take risks or do their own thing much anymore. This amount of molds is probably difficult for them to keep and I understand that, but retiring these sculpts is a huge loss. I miss the days where Luts made the most amazing fantasy Kid Delfs. There's been a shift in the market and in people's tastes and that's only natural, but this discontinuation is a huge loss regardless. I'm also hoping they rotate re-releases someday in the future, but they don't typically do that so I'm not holding my breath. Just going to try and afford a KDF or something and cherish them

    18. Luts is who I mainly collect from. I have a few fairyland, dim, and volks too. Dim is gone and fairyland's quality is bad. So I guess it's volks for me from now on. It's sad, I'm watching the hobby die.

    19. There's a few I had on my "maybe" list (muhwa, basil, yeondu, a few others) but I think I'm safe this time around. Scrolling through a few more times to make sure though....

    20. Jamong was one of the first KDFs that caught my eye... (and @stelladolls has a really cute one!) It's sad to see her go, along with Pudding/Choco, Muhwa and some strikingly unique ones such as Pepino/Papaya/Aronia :(
