Saw today on Instagram Luts posted a preview of their winter event and they're offering purchase of a bunch of their past event head's. I'm super excited to finally get my hands on a Cherry Elf head. Is anyone else thinking of grabbing past event head's they may have missed out on?
Them bringing so many heads back is so exciting! The Cherry elf head is so gorgeous, please share lots of lovely photos with us when she’s home! There was one sculpt I was looking at a few days ago, my last line of defense for my wallet was that ‘hey it’s limited and sold out, don’t have to buy anything!’ I should’ve known that in the Bjd world the second you think you’re safe that’s when they drop something you want haha! At least it’s just a head lol
I guess like real kids they just start sprouting and growing taller and taller! I’m so excited to see the new body compared to the others, and of course I’m excited to see the poses it can do! I have two kid delfs (though one’s still being made) I use to shell characters from a game I really like, and the two I have right now are the shortest of the cast. I always thought that if I ever tried to shell another character the height’s being the same might look weird, but it looks like luts has my back haha!
you can get some variation if you order model delf body or kid45 too. model delf is my favorite body to order kid delf heads on. when i had a kid45 i thought she was awkwardly tall tho for my taste.
On one hand the new bodies look really nice, but on the other hand, I feel like the different variations in size and height make it more difficult to buy clothing for. I like how regular kid delfs are a standard MSD size and fit clothes from across multiple companies like nine9style, Sadol, dollheart, volks etc.. but creating these taller slimmer proportions makes it more difficult to find clothes that fit well. These new bodies are only 10cm shorter than the Delf line. This kind of makes sense though given the direction their newer sculpts seem to be headed. New sculpts have more mature features, smaller eyes. A lot of the older heads that they discontinued are more childish and I think suit the standard kid delf body more than these newer bodies they've been designing. But the newer heads kind of work for both I guess.
After looking through, there are 2 I want, a 3rd hasn't been added but it's a pass event gift head like the rest so I've asked if they can add it. If so that will be 3 dolls and I will bring my floating heads to 19. It'll be bodies for me for years haha
I succumbed and put a Loe head on layaway (and an SDF Niya head). I was surprised at Loe's discontinuation because she is used in so many promo images.
Looks like Luts had some in stock heads? I almost missed their post about it on sms but I did see it while browsing the kid delf event heads. I managed to grab a KDF elf bory in RSW!
@TenguxChan I agree with you, I moved away from SoulKids because I thought their bodies were hard to find clothes (AND SHOES) for, and Dream Valley is similar, tall and slim and just impossible to dress. KDFs were so cute and the scale is great for roomboxes. Plus I never had to worry about not finding even a basic outfit. Now I'll likely be sticking to other companies if I'm shelling petite characters. The wait begins for my Coco and Woori. I gave up on Apple and Peach (and Almond and Mill and Kelp and and and). I think I'll get Woori and maybe try to get a fantasy body for him, probably an off topic one but if they make fantasy parts going forward then I'll be back to Luts.
I don't love the super tall MSD new bodies. I have so many odd sized dolls that are almost impossible to outfit. I hope Luts keeps the Kid45 and their standard kid Delf bodies.
My girl has the standard/default kid Delf girl body. I’ve been looking at the mature body options but there is a certain “look” I want that is more seamless and lovely. I’ve been picky...
idk what you mean by seamless but model delf body is really nice mature option. most of my kid delf have this one
I really like the new taller KDF bodies! Can’t wait to see more pictures of them eventually. The new KDF Abadon really appeals to me, but I’ve been kind of neutral on the KDF45 male body and the regular KDF bodies don’t appeal to me (at least for that sculpt). If I ever get him, I’d like him to be the same height or taller than Lemon. MSDs are my favourite size, but I’ve always been drawn towards the ones on the taller end. My Rosette doll is something like 47-48 cms and I got her forever ago. It’s really nice to see that some taller MSDs are becoming more common. When I got Lemon, I got her on the KDF45, and I love this body so much. Really glad I didn’t get her way back when because the body wouldn’t exist for a long time. She’s become my favourite doll and she’s really fun and inspiring to sew for.
I just hope the new bodies won't have the extra wide shoulders all their bodies seem to have lately, but alas that's like asking for the moon from the sky I fear, it's just not going to happen, the broad shoulders seem to be popular for some reason. I personally just think they look silly with the cutesy Luts Kid Delf heads.
I just saw all the new KDF sculpts on Instagram... is my wallet safe? I don't know!!! I think Momo is so cute, but no one else really stands out to me as "have to have". What do y'all think?
