Luts Kid Delf Discussion part 17

I like the new bodies, not so much the heads. Mela is cute, though... But I'm not sure. I think I'm safe for now. But if Luts release a 48/7 cm Bory, I'm so done for

 

I love yangpa, mela, momo and hami. but probably wont get any. im kinda more interested in 1/6 fashion dolls right now

 

Not a fan of any of the new ones. They all have that weird puffy undereye bag that's really popular right now and I dislike the faceups having red noses. Not for me but I have 40 resin bjds alone, I can stand to not buy for a few years until these trends die haha

 

I take it back, I think Zea is super cute, almost like a Kid Delf version of SD Ulla. Might have to spring for a tall boi Zea...my KDF collection has overtaken all my other dolls!

 

My concern is, do the new bodies fit standard MSD clothing? I have so many hard to fit dolls and it's a struggle.

 

I think Zea is cute but overall none of the new heads are really speaking to me. In general I don't particularly enjoy the direction Luts is taking their kid delfs. They're all beautiful, don't get me wrong, but I don't really vibe with the current aesthetic, which I guess is a good thing for my wallet, and alternatively will allow me to look at buying from other companies for a change

 

The new KDFs are cute, but none of them really speak to me either. The first thing that stood out to me was how Mela looks so much like Cherry and then I noticed how Hami looks rather similar to Lemon, and Yangpa to Hodoo. Some of the others are giving me the same sense of familiarity, but I can't pinpoint which sculpts (I can't recognize all the old ones out of my head). This new crew of dolls feel like "updated" versions of a bunch of the old ones they just discontinued.

I much prefer the older style that Luts had.

 

I like Leek but I'm sort of torn between "I actually like the sculpt" vs "I think I only like the styling of him and the sculpt is just whatever" and the more I look at the unpainted version the more in starting to lean towards the latter.

Edit: now that the nude images of the bodies are posted on the site: I can confidently say that if this is the direction Luts is going with their dolls then I don't think I'll be buying a full doll from them ever again. Especially the boy one looks just awful.

i actually really like the girl 47 one. it seems like the shoulders arent as wide as they have been for other bodies. im kinda tempted to get one!

Oh man I just went to take a look, and while I do actually kind of like the female body... What is luts' obsession with Dorito bodies. The shoulders in the male body are so insanely wide and look even weirder with how long and skinny the legs are. The images showing the torso without seeing the head don't look so bad but the full doll looks so disproportionate. ALSO regarding the forum rules does the lack of male genitalia end up make these new male bodies and muse bodies technically off topic?

 

Yeah, I really don't like the new bodies. They lack some human quality, remind me of robot androids or something. Aesthetic matters a lot when you're paying several hundred dollars for a doll. These bodies just do not look nice in my opinion and the sculpts are meh. I need to look at other companies...

 

Thoughts on the new bodies…

The girl body looks nice on its own, but I don’t really envision a lot of the KDF heads looking good on it because most of them look too young. What I liked about the KDF45 body was how it wasn’t a straight up child body, but also wasn’t too mature for KDF heads. I feel like that’s the problem with the KDF47, it looks too mature for most of the heads it’s meant to be paired with.

The boy body is straight up terrible. It’s as though Luts couldn’t decide if they wanted to make a boy or an adult body, so they spliced the two and the result doesn’t look natural at all. The shoulders are especially bad. Similar to my grievance with the girl body, the shoulder width does not look right with such young looking heads.

 

I wish they'd do a lineup of what all their KDF bodies look like next to each other, and maybe next to an SD-sized doll. Like, what does a KDF47 look next to a 50cm doll, or a 60cm doll? What does it look like next to a HoneyDelf/Yo-SD?

I'm in agreement with pretty much everyone here: the super-slim and tall bodies look bad. It's giving "Sailor Moon Crystal" :\

 

I was just talking to a friend about this during their discontinuation event. I really wish companies in general would do a lineup of all their dolls side by side. It would be so much easier to visualize the size of dolls when you have a baseline to compare it to. As someone with only msd size dolls it's hard for me to visualize what a yosd or an SD13 will look like next to them so having lineup image of all sizes would be so helpful.

I do know that Luts has an image on their website that shows a comparison between model delf, kdf45 and regular kid delf boy bodies, but I agree it would be nice to see an updated one with this new body added to the mix

 

Missed the vampire Bory preorder... Does anyone know if they do re-release of those limited heads often?
