Luts Senior Delf 65 Discussion Part 1

@Arengil Totally understand. I think it has more to do with scale vs. size. SG body are similar in size/height to SDF65, but the scale in which it is sculpted is more suited to heads with finer/realistic features. Whereas Luts bodies are scaled to their signature larger stylized heads (although Luts heads have decreased in size over the years ) It's why my Luts and Volks dolls look very nice together, but my Soom and Souldoll's look a little ridiculous in proportion right next to them. I do have a Souldoll Jinwoo (although he might be an anomaly in size for Souldoll since the particular sculptor who made him only made ~4 sculpts for them), but if you would like, I'd be happy to try him on my SDF65.

Does anyone have any pictures of Verde? I couldn't find any when I did a search here, and Instagram only had 19 pictures of him under the tag.

 

Has anyone seen the new boy, Blue? He is absolutely PERFECT and I said no dolls but how damn is he tempting...I am getting a huge bonus at work soon...

 

So, last week I received my romance Raven in Zuzu white on the slender body. I like the body over all, I just wish the shoulders looked more relaxed. Also, the romance Raven head is clearly meant for the bigger SDF65 bodies. There's considerable gaping between the neck and head, and the neck feels a bit short. I love the heeled legs though and the body stands like a rock with them in heels.

I tried my LLT Edria head on the body, and it's a much better fit, which I'm glad about since I wanted to get a body for my Edria as well. The problem will be resin matching.

Does anyone know if Luts Obitsu white is a close match to Volks normal?

 

OMGosh yes! I've seen him and I want to order him so badly But I can't yet and I have no idea when I can Have had to prioritize other things around the house, instead of my hobby for a while now. Can't wait to get back to my BJD hobby so I can order him. Hopefully it won't be too long a wait.

 

I already have a body at home so I'll try and order the Blue head seaparate before the order period runs out.

 

So I have received my Romance Raven and wanted to share a pic.



I haven't noticed any gaping between the neck of the slender body and his head. I think it's just shaped this way to be able to move his head. Posing him is a tedious task though. He stand like a rock and if you're able to get him into a pose he will maintain it for a long long time unlike my old Kid Delfs who can't even stand on their own. Restringing him will be difficult though, I think the elastic is too short...

 

Can anyone tell if they changed Diez in any way for the girl body? I'd love to get myself a Diez boy...

 

Do you guys think shoes for SD13G/SD16G girls can fit on the Slender body's feet? So I've been looking at these shoes from Nine9Style and they don't have them in SD17 Boy size but if you look at the measurements (Shoes size: approximately 83mm (length) x 34mm (wide) x 39mm (height)) it seems like SD16 Girl size can fit on Slender boys (foot length: 7.9, foot width: 3.1) . Not sure though. Has anyone tried something like that yet?

 

Hi guys, just got my first SDF65 yesterday, a Raven Romance I got off of Xianyu bc I missed the original release. There's a small problem, though... his head is too small for my taste He's so beautiful by himself, but as soon as I put him next to my other girls, the difference in proportions becomes really obvious. I'm trying not to make any hasty decisions, but my first thought is to try a different Luts head with the same body - just one that's a little larger.

Does anyone happen to have an SDF65 Abadon they could share photos of with me - particularly photos that show the proportions compared to other dolls?

 

This is really useful, thank you so much for digging that up! Even though he's one of the the slimmer head sculpts, it looks like his features are slightly bigger than the girl ones, which would be an improvement for sure.

Here's a quick photo that shows what I mean - I don't know. I think I'm just a lot more sensitive to this sort of thing than the average BJD owner, most people seem to be totally fine with collecting differently proportioned dolls?

@Ruinscathedral I had the exact same dilemma when I got my Romance Raven. It was the first time in a decade of collecting that I actually felt cold about a purchase after opening a new doll. Raven's head and features were just to small next to the group of dolls I'd planned on putting him with.

So, I know how you feel.

I will say that at least in the picture you provided he doesn't look that off next to your girls.

 

Aw, that's so disappointing, what a shame it's a shared experience. He's seriously so pretty, just... little. I think for my picture as well, it's a bit more obvious IRL. Like everything except for his lips is smaller than the girls, despite being a few cm taller and much wider everywhere else, it just looks... off. Did you end up keeping your Raven Romance?

 

@Ruinscathedral Yeah, I also got him on the Slender body, but don't care for the way his head looks on it. You can't really see it in this picture, but to me the neck feels to short and to narrow for his head. There's noticeable gaping between his head and the neck. So, he's currently sitting in his box as I decide what to do with him.

 

I understand your struggle with head size Wanted to add my Abadon65 head size comparison. With that huge head back, Abadon65 is the largest out of these three. Though masculine, his feature are soft. Makes him look youthful.

Thank you so much! Everyone's been so helpful and kind, I really appreciate it. He definitely has a big ole noggin in the back - do you happen to know what his head measurement is? I didn't see it on Luts's site, but the Raven Romance is 8.1cm I think.
