Luts Senior Delf 65 Discussion Part 1

Dec 29, 2014

    1. I got my new (to me) Ash in today and I'm really laughing at this company faceup. He has the type B option and these eyebrows are so far apart. I heard eyebrows are supposed to be sisters but these are more like second cousins twice removed. A reverse unibrow.

    2. @Cap'n :  poor baby's eyebrows look like parentheses! Oh Luts... sometimes they really knock it out of the park with default faceups, but other times they just don't do their own sculpt justice.

Do you plan on getting him repainted? I've been curious to see this sculpt customized more.

I probably won't be keeping this head. The shape looks really similar to my Brinicle but that character of mine has no siblings and I can't think of any of my OCs that he looks like. So for now he'll keep the faceup. Maybe someone else will like it. But I agree on wanting to see more of this head customized. I only found one other owner photo and it's with the other company faceup type, which looks so much nicer than this one. If it was that faceup I may have kept it because pretty face but I don't feel like putting the effort into a new head that I'm meh about.

    4. @Cap'n : I totally hear you! I'm sorry he didn't end up working out but hopefully someone else will really enjoy his sad soft boy look and give him some life.

      Since there are SO many sculpts from Luts I get curious about how some of those rarer more obscure beauties look. Hopefully at some point we'll see more of him... but maybe that's a good thing. I don't need my wishlist to get any longer. ToT;

I know right? Too many cuties. I don't see many of my Brinicle head around either. Though I believe he was only a limited head if I remember right (or I at least have a limited release of his head). Currently I'm working on a Howl that I put on the SD65 body this Ash came with. He still needs a faceup but a body was a big hurdle to get first. Possibly a color match since the head is from 2020 and the body is from 2016. I just love the Luts SD65 body so much. :D

Plus I need to make him a new wig since this one got very squished when he was just a head. :sweat

    6. @Cap'n : GORGEOUS! I put a Howl back on my wishlist. I used to own one many moons ago... but now I want one as a SD65 in gray skin. Your handsome tall boy has totally sold me! :D Love him! Hope you get him painted soon!

Oh Brinicle is another handsome rarity. I've only seen like 2 total of him probably one of them being yours lol

    7. @Dybbuk
Howl is one of my favorite Luts sculpts. He's so pouty! And originally he was my replacement for a Volks School A head but tbh I think I like him better than that Volls head. If I ever shell his son, he'll be the Volks head though because they look so similar. My Howl will also be getting a beard. His character is baby faced under the beard and I am going to attempt to give him one of those real fiber beards.

Brinicle was a spur of the moment need. I've shelled him as my DnD main and I had a pic I found online that I had been using as his face-claim for a while. Then I saw Brinicle blank and he looks JUST like that pic. It was meant to be. :XD:

    8. I am so happy to have my SDF65 Diez home (with his twin SDF Flora)! He just came back from Rianne/komorebidolls for a faceup and ugh he looks like the bunny boy of my dreams. :D I think ... I might have to get the Xylon the Diez stole his body from a body because I am really loving the brown/tan resin at the moment.

Your bunnies are adorable! And Luts brown is such a nice color. That grey/pink hair compliments it well. :love

    10. Thank you! I'm glad you think so, I had a really concreate idea of what I wanted to do with these two... unlike the others who go through 30 wigs before I'm satisfied. xD

    11. I have another question - I’d been wanting to purchase a Sadol suit for my SDf65 soon, because I always thought they offered sdf65 as a size and I really liked the idea of getting a perfectly tailored suit for him. But when I was checking the site I noticed the Luts sizes they had were actually only super and grand senior delf, both of which would definitely be too big.
Of these options: ‘Volks SD17’, ‘hound’, ‘Crobi M’, ‘60-62cm’ - which do you think would be the closest to SDF65? I was thinking maybe Volks SD17, but I really don’t know. If anyone has purchased Sadol stuff for their SDF65s which size did you get?

EDIT: answering my own question, but in case it helps anyone else, I just noticed Luts actually have the suit I was after on their site and it seems to be the SD17 one. lutsdoll co.,ltd. Nice to have it confirmed.

    12. I have a question: how do you remove the hands on the newer body? I have the slim body and as far as I can tell, the hands aren't on a S-Hook. How do you take them off?

    13. the hands themselves have a resin hook inside the wrist cap in an sdf65 body. Not sure about the muse body, but I'd think it'd be similar

    14. Oh wow so the new bodies have the resin hooks like the feet? My Baby Delf has that too and it's actually not bad. Makes switching hands easier. Just pull out, clamp the elastic, and take off the hand. I always have the issue of thos tiny S hooks get stuck on the elastic and I have to fight to get it off.

    15. Ahhh okay so I can clamp it to change the hands...but I don't think clamps can fit through tight sleeves...does Luts have a clothes changer tool/part for these bodies? I have the SDF65 slim body, not the muse. But I do want to get a Muse one for my event head!

    16. By "clamp" I personally mean use forceps. Pull out the hand to expose the elastic at the sleeve, clamp the forceps onto both parts of the stretched elastic near the wrist, then you can let go and remove the hand while the elastic will have a loose loop on the end. Put new hand on, hold the hand, and release the forceps. If the elastic is incredibly tight this can be difficult but if it's that tight then the elastic is probably stretched too much already.

    17. @Cap'n I have a pair of forceps. Oh I think what I do is I thread a ribbon through the elastic so I don't lose it when I have to put on tight sleeves or pants and then I use my upper body strength to bring it back out to reattach the hands or feet. I am just not used to resin hooks is all!

New SDF65 girl announced: Shell! She's really pretty, but something about her tiny tiny nostrils throws me off a bit. Reminiscent of a botched nosejob, maybe? ... and yet still really pretty. I'd love if they eventually came out with a SD65 body that wasn't quite so model-esque, as well.
