Luts Senior Delf Discussion Part IV

Well, I gave in and ordered Abadon on SDF65 in gray (just in case they do away with that size next). I'm excited!

 

Congrats! And I feel you, I'm in the same boat and I'm deciding if I want to get a body just to have for the future. Wish I had done that with the junior delfs.

 

I feel like the smaller boys get no love, but what “small” means is really changing. Remember when SD17 was a big boy? I’ve had SSDFs, but right now my biggest guys are in the 65cm range, and I’m not ready for a giant Dorito just yet…

 

@snowgray : Oh I'd love to see what you do with a gorgeous Gray Skin Abadon!!! He's such a classic mold!

I'm late in catching up on doll news, but see the SDF line is getting axed. So crazy... In 2007 my very first doll (which I still have) was a Senior Delf Dion~ Over the years like Cap'n, as Luts style changed I veered toward other companies, but this line has a lot of dolls I adore that remind me of the "old days" haha.

I am curious if they will revisit the size... but given that their original "Delf" line hasn't gotten any type update or new molds in years, I'm guessing they're going to stick with their large SDs and their Mini/Model Delf lines. I suppose given current trends, those seem to be selling better than their older lines.

 

It’s dissapointing to see the dolls go. It looks like the girl heads are still going to be available on the SDF type 8 body or the SDF65 girl body as they just released the active version for those two. They’ve also released a few SDF girls recently so I think they are still somewhat popular. But I wonder what they are going to do with the male heads.

Shorter boys seem to be becoming a rarity which is disappointing. I have no real desire to own a doll taller than 65cm at my current stage in life. They just take up too much space.

 

@Dybbuk, thank you! Abadon was my first ever boy (only my second doll, even!), but I let go of a lot of dolls before I moved a while ago. But I wanted Glacier’s head to put on an SDF65 body, and I was like, I could just also get Abadon back, but different, since he’ll be gray… I’m excited! The gray skin looks really nice.

I won’t lie, I quite like the sculpting on a lot of the big boys. They’re a nice mix of manly with some stylization. Callisto, Alpheratz, Ras Alghethi, they’re all gorgeous. But they’d make my 60cm girls look like children! (Also my apartment is very small. 65cm is sorta my max right now.) I feel like the more classically SD sized girls are still popular, but the boys are evolving away into Dorito land… The style of the 78 boys on a 65 body would please me, but 78 is just too big.

 

I have a question about SD head and body compatibility:
Do Senior Delf heads fit onto a Delf Girl Body Type 6?

On the website it's said that Delf Girl Body Type 6 is compatible with SD65 / SDMuse / Delf heads, but "Non-Muse" Senior Delf heads are not mentioned.
Now, Senior Delf heads are only compatible with either the earlier Senior Delf Girl Body Types 1 to 7 OR the new Type 8 (in which case they have an "i" imprinted). Which of these SD head versions, if any, is compatible with Delf Girl Body 6?
It's a bit confusing, but maybe someone in this thread knows or has tried it out themselves...

 

Don't quote me on this as I'm not 100% certain, but looking at the neck sizes, I think the delf type 6 is the equivalent of the "i" heads / SDF type 8, whereas delf type 5 is the equivalent of SDF 1-7 with the thinner necks.

It's a bit embarrassing to admit, but I should probably have taken a better look at Luts' website.
Until now I've mostly been interested in Baby Delfs, so I haven't really done any research on Senior Delfs any further than just looking at them and thinking they're pretty.
Baby Delf only had one body type option, though, so...
under LUTS MYCHOICE Delf GIRL Type 6 they've listed the following heads as compatible:
"SDF65, SDF Girl i ver, SDF boy, DF boy (6~70cm head)".

Case solved. Will try to do better research next time before asking a dumb question.

hi! i couldn't find this info anywhere so i was hoping someone here might be able to help me out!

what are the neck circumference measurements for the senior delf boy body types? (any of the types would be helpful to know!)

also, the site is showing the boy's bodies (without heads) as sold out. does anyone know if they are no longer selling them separately?

Hihihi! Doing much better physically, thanks for asking.

Ariel, my Juniper Little Mermaid girl is home, and I got her on the Type 8 body. At 63.5cm, she's the second girl I have that's taller than 60cm, which is pretty sweet. She also has the '"i" in her sculpt name, so she looks fairly proportional when compared to my old Luts/Cerberus Project Delf "light bulb" headed dolls. I really love the Real Skin Tan skin I got her in, it's so nice!

Also, does anyone know what style random eyes Luts sends with their Senior Delf? I need it to add to my notes.

I missed out on getting the Active line, but after lamenting a bit over it, I realized that half of the time she'll be wearing her mermaid tail, so it not a big deal anymore to me. Anyways, here's Ariel. She'll be a hybrid of the Disney cartoon and live-action versions of The Little Mermaid.

Also, like I mentioned a while back, I got a 2024 gift head who is Prince Eric. I got the torso for him, since my small house is running out of room for the SDs and larger dolls that I so love. I'm also currently waiting for a blue dress for Ariel and a shirt for Prince Eric. I found some shoes I really like for Ariel, but I'm not sure how the US tariffs will affect the price. Oof.

@Ryuichi Sakuma 13 Thanks for sharing your Ariel and Eric dolls! Luts RST looks very attractive as a tan, it's not orangey or ashy at all.

I just realized I get to join this forum now with my hybrid Bory (he's on a Volks SD10 body with long legs) For those still clinging to the smaller bodies, where do y'all find shoes and pants! I have so much trouble dressing my dude. I don't feel like getting a Luts body for him since the whole point of this doll was to hybrid an affordable head on an affordable and standard body.

Oh yes, the RST is pretty close to a natural skin tone, so I'm really thrilled with it.

Welcome to the thread! I find a lot of clothes for My Crew on either Etsy or Ebay. There's also Alice's Collection, Luts' site and Dollmore that I also go to for clothes. There are more, but it's late here, and I can't think of any other place off the top of my head.
