Luts Smokey Quartz MiniFe Shiwoo

Oh, so he is! I was sort of digging the idea of greyskin. The tan is nice, but again, I can remember the issues with their previous tans... if they truly have been kept by the company since they were last selling tan MNF, I feel a bit anxious about how the quality will be upon arrival, if not after casual use.

 

Oh no. Tan Mini Fee Shiwoo? I want him. I am a MNF Shiwoo maniac. I don't care that I have six already. I need him. ;_;

The original tan Delf and Minifee were released around spring of 2006. If these have been around since then, I can only wonder what they look like now. I've seen various tan Delfs around that do look fine, but it is always buyer beware when it comes to the history of previous releases from a company and their customer service regarding those problems. Didn't mean to cause a ruckus with my previous warning.

 

Hm so he's probably gonna run about $700+ and there's the chance like there's only 3 of him. I think I'll just oogle him from afar lol. But boy is he striking to look at.

Like to say I wish Luts would do the tan thing with their kid delfs, I'm DYING for a tan cherry. XD

 

I would so love him! I own several Shiwoos - from modded sleeping elf, to tanned, to mnf elf, to ltf elf (notice the trend..?), so it would be wonderful to add him to my collection, but $700+ just won't do. Of course, after market prices will be even worse, but I just don't know how I'd be able to fund him coming home. Hes beautiful, though.

 

I think people are forgetting that is was fairyland that originally angered luts. The split was amicable as far as I know, it wasn't until fairyland rereleased breakaways that things went sour. Luts was apparently under the impression that breakaways were supposed to be limited and not sold again, and then fairyland went and sold them after they had originally been a luts exclusive limited thing. From what I remember about the Luts reaction, they said that they had never been informed that fairyland was going to sell breakways again on their own. I think it was the shock of it that spurred their wild reaction. That is when luts started the whole "made specifically to be only sold by luts" stuff with the dolls on their site.

I don't get why everyone is so suspicious and bad mouthing luts. They haven't done anything bad other than having a strong reaction to the feeling they had been wronged (and that happened years ago). They aren't doing anything bad by releasing this delf art, fairyland has already said they are okay with it. I just don't think people making jabs at luts is fair.

Partnership with Fairyland aside, Luts doesn't have the best reputation anyway. At one point the person responding to their Q&A board was a complete jerk- refusing to acknowledge defects and even once using the excuse "We are not the God". Plus the rep who made that flip-out announcement others have mentioned; even if they were wronged, it was extremely unprofessional. Not to mention all the people who've had bad personal experiences with them, myself included. It probably goes without saying but I think it's perfectly reasonable to be suspicious of Luts, no matter what they are doing. >_> They're probably the most incompetent doll company I have ever dealt with.

Aaaand that's all I'm gonna contribute to this thread, LOL. I don't want to bog down the thread with my Luts Hatred but I just had to point out that yes, Luts does deserve the bad mouthing (which is actually just a matter of opinion, of course).

Nor in mine. And doll companies putting up teasers without information is pretty standard, imho.

I came into the hobby after the split so I don't know much about it, but I don't know that LUTS has a particularly bad reputation these days. Their events and such seem to get plenty of interest in threads without really any negative comments. O_O I've never had any problems with my dealings with them, so I can only go from my own experiences.

He's a cute little guy, and a definite rarity. Not for me, but good luck to the hunters!

 

Yeah, I haven't seen anyone complain about luts in years, and whenever I have purchased from them I never had a problem. It's soom that is completely crazypants these days.

Anyway, the tan shiwoo is cute, i hope someone is able to snag one from here, but its gonna be the whole world competing for very very few dolls. (I still don't think there will be more than 3 of them)

 

I wondered about this as well. If he's labelled as a "minifee" shouldn't he be on the FairyLand site? I've gone through so much confusion trying to figure out what went on/what's going on between FairyLand/Luts/Cerberus Project...
Also it may be my laptop screen but the resin looks more like a greyish tan, rather than a true tan... Either way, he's gorgeous!

Well, I'm quite new to this hobby and know nothing of past events and stuff like that... And I prefer to stay out of that for a reason, because an awful lot of it is drama, but all I can say is I hope there's no foul play and everything is okay between both companies ^__^;

Hoooly crap! I was just on Luts' site and saw this boy. When I saw the little 'out of stock' sign, I almost had a heart attack because I was so upset that I had missed his release. I have been waiting so soooo long for a tanned mnf shiwoo, he's seriously my dream dolly.
And fweeeee~~~! He's not even released yet so that makes me tons happy. I hope Luts releases him either tonight or tomorrow morning or they wait until friday to release him because I'm going to be gone for a week! D=

I'm so excited for the grey-skinned Shiwoo ;_; I just wished he wasn't going to be so limited... But this saves my wallet at the same time too >_< the face-up on him is gorgeous~~~!!!

 

Here is the "no-drama" rundown, in case you're interested. Back in the day, there was no Fairyland website. Dolls sculpted by CP were distributed through Luts and a couple of other dealers. Those dolls included Delf, some Kid Delf sculpts, and the Minifee line.

A few years ago, CP and Luts split ways, more or less, and CP opened the Fairyland site. When the split occurred, Minifee sculpts moved to Fairyland, while the Delf line continues to be distributed through Luts.

I find it funny that when messaging Fairyland about "Choco" Minifee they are like "WE have absolutly NO intentions making Tan minifees as the resin color consistancy would be too hard to do" now this pops up and it's like "......huh say what now?"
