Thanks @mysticaldolldreams! I wish she could ride him, but he's not sturdy enough to take any extra weight. I can't wait to see the Ginger wig on your May. What color did you get?
Just found this thread . I have a tan MM May called Rhiannon. Waiting on a wig I ordered for her and need to buy/make something for her to wear, but will hopefully be able to share pics soon. She's such a lovely little doll and a beautiful poser .
I just grabbed a May in the stock sale! She is in mint green which I'm excited to see in person. She will definitely be nature based. I think I may call her Gaea. I cannot find measurements for her anywhere. I checked all the MM sites and nothing. May isn't even on the site. Can you please let me know wig and eye size? also, now tall is she?
She posted on Facebook and Instagram. Multiple Mays in stock, two of another sculpt I can't remember, and one Kiera. Here is the link to the info.
Congrats on getting a May, @LuckyXIII ! I also have 5mm eyes in mine. I ordered both 4mm and 5mm and the 5 just looked better. My girl measures 25.5cm and wears size 3 wigs. It's a good thing I already have my girl, because I'm not on Facebook or Instagram so I don't see things posted there unless someone gives me a link. I look forward to seeing May in mint.
I think I may have eyes she can use until I order her her own. I think I have one tiny wig but it's not great. I am really curious as to how she will look with my Clever Little.
I bet they will look great side by side! They seem to have similar proportions, they could make a nice couple.
Ever since May arrived I've wanted to make her a dress using a silk flower. I had a big old peony that I took apart years ago and never got around to using. May is the perfect size for it. I used the larger layers from the bottom of the flower, plus one frilly layer from near the center, then crocheted a top to go with it. I also crocheted her wig. She still needs sandals, although for now she doesn't mind going barefoot.
She looks great! Such a cute outfit. My girl will be nature based so I've been playing around with similar ideas. I've been picturing a long dress made of leaves and flowers, just for fun. Not practical for one who lives in the forest, but sometimes she may want to be fancy. The eyes I ordered for her arrived today. I've not had much luck in the wig department. I may have to try and make something for her. I have plenty of wool to play with, so we'll see. I may just do head pieces instead XD
@LuckyXIII - Thanks! I've been toying with the idea of a leaf dress, too, although I want to make mine short. I think it will need a basic sheath dress underneath that I can attach the individual leaves to. If you're thinking of making a wig from wool, I found all kinds of ideas when I searched doll wigs made from yarn. There are some fabulously creative people out there.
Today I finished a Rapunzel wig for May. It's made from deconstructed acrylic yarn--I had to take the strands apart and remove a thread of a different weight and color. I wish the wig were longer, but taking the yarn apart weakens it so it doesn't hold together as well, making long wefts out of the question. Even so, I'm surprised and pleased by how it came out.
Thanks! @nancy_schroeder_ca. I took the flowers off today so that I could string some tiny beads through the hair, then glued the flowers on. I haven't taken new photos yet.
Here I am again. (Why doesn't anyone else post pics here?) I finished making a new outfit for May. A friend sent me a skein of cashmere yarn. Cashmere! I'd never buy that myself--too expensive. It sure was lovely to work with, though. No pattern; I'm a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of crocheter.
