Man Parts - How Important Are They?

Feb 22, 2012

    1. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?

As long as it's there, I don't really care. I just need enough to say "This doll is a dude" in those "That's a girl" moments. @_@ *dumbest use for dollie penis ever*

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
I wish BJD companies wouldn't, since when buying a doll I want to see all of it, just to be thorough. I don't really care what other people do.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
No. I don't care how realistic their man bits are. I don't care about the size either. In fact, I'd rather they be smaller since dolls aren't squishy so having a big thing sticking out can impede clothing. My Dollzone Megi keeps popping the buttons on his fly...

    2. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
It's not important to me at all, because I will never purposefully photograph it or show it off...it'll always be covered so I don't see why it has to be that detailed at all D: I mean as long as something is there to signify that it's a boy, then I'm good..

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
I understand that some forum members may be more sensitive to full frontal nudity or may be browsing the site somewhere else where the content may be questionable... but as for companies, I don't like it when anything is censored. I like to see what I'm buying @_@

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
Well, my mega gem's man parts were really detailed and I knew this....(and I didn't care about this when I purchased him, I was more interested in his face sculpt and rest of the body) but I didn't know it was THAT detailed. It really bothered me actually because I had to keep it covered at all times...at the same time, weird enough, I feel like I should show it off because Soom wasted all their sculpting efforts into creating the work of art but I just don't feel right posting pictures of it anywhere or showing anyone because it's quite detailed and too realistic, to the point that makes me uncomfortable. I want dolls to resemble real people but not to the very last detail. I don't know how to explain it ... but to me it just crossed the line. :S I felt that it wasn't something that belonged on ball-jointed dolls of this type, maybe sculptures or artist dolls that seemed to embrace nudity with a less conservative mindset...??

    3. 1. I think the man parts are very important, since I feel like adult men should have a somewhat appropriate size...?
      2. I understand why they do it, but I still want to see how it looks. It does bother me a bit if his man parts do not meet my "standards", so when there's a sculpt that I really like I will sometimes look at body review videos and such, to observe the body(which I'm also picky about) as well as his privates.
      3. It really does bother me if a doll has a really tiny manhood, I admit. Also, I really like the jointed penis, I think they're fun! Although this is not the main reason why I like Sol by Ringdoll, it is one of the things I do like about him.

    4. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
not important at all. theres not much else i can say about this ~ it just doesnt occur to me at all hehe

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
yes it does actually annoy me quite a bit. though i dont fuss about the details of the man bits i would still like to see what im dealing with. i am purchasing the doll therefore i have the right to know/see the details of it. i dont understand why doll nudity is so taboo.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
nope! i actually tend to prefer male dolls with smaller bits because it makes clothing options easier. as long as its not going to cause any trouble technically, i wouldnt be turned off a doll just because of its bits.

    5. I think the only thing that bothers me if male part blushing. It's like everywhere else on the torso is white, and then the male parts are this bright pink color. I've never really cared too much what it looks like. The only time I ever cared that they censored it, I was telling my friend about BJDs and showing her mine, and my friend saw her nipples and when I told her the guys had male parts, wouldn't believe me. I went to MoC to show them pictures, and for some reason I kept clicking on companies that censor their dolls and it was driving me nuts lol
I did find one, though, and male doll on MoC, I don't remember the company, but they male parts were detachable. They were on a magnet and you could buy a different one. That I thought was a bit odd lol

    6. I don't have any complete boy dolls at home with me, so I don't know about the woes of owning a boy, but once I get off my ass and actually boy myself a boy body, I really want it to have his junk intact- I have no desire to get a Ken... Though I've only had an Eric (from little mermaid) doll, but he was just as neutered as poor Ken, and I don't want that, as I find it a bit disturbing...

But the main reason I actually posted on this topic is because I wondered if anyone had mentioned noeling (on DeviantArt) on this thread before, as he has worked on one BJD and made his man bits look pretty amazing. Not talking about just the penis, but his testicles as well. Very nice work, and if you are on DA and you can check out explicit pictures, I suggest having a look, as he did a nice job there (in my opinion). I'm not quite sure how he looked before the artist got his hands on him, but I'm pretty sure that he wasn't sculpted to be quite as detailed as he made it out to be. But I might be wrong, so don't take my word for it! ;D (If you are interested in looking for the BJD, you can find it in his 'Adult-Themed Doll' -folder. Which just cracks me up. xD)

    7. This is why I really want the Emotional Male from Nobility. It has a more realistic man part (still not sure what the heck attachments mean but oh well). I figure, I want my doll to look as real to life as possible, and that means under his clothes as well. I'm not a fan of the ones who have a clearly older male body but a tiny boy-sized part. That's why it bugs me when websites censor the doll's "downstairs". If I'm going to spend that much money on the doll, I want to be able to accurately see what I'm buying.

Wow, I just looked Noeling up on DA and you were right! I would love to have this level of accuracy on my doll!

    8. I like my boys to have real looking boy bodies. I do find it annoying when company pics are censored as they are only dolls and it's nice to know exactly what they look like. My first two dolls have standard sort of solid molded manparts but my Ringdoll grown boys are a different matter altogether. The Ringdoll boys bits are moveable and are actually on stringing!

    9. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
Very important. It's said that not a lot of companies pay attention to thing-ie. I'm not saying I'm a pervert or stare them but small thing-ie is painful to look at.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
      Yes, it's an important part!

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
No, I don't think I've gone that far.

    10. I honestly kind of wish they didn't have anything down there, for better posing, as well as simply to avoid the shame of being hung like a tic-tac. I mean, a lot of male dolls (non-BJD, I mean) are NOT anatomically correct, but we still dress them like guys (most of the time) and I don't think the people who own them think 'Damn, I really wish this doll had a penis,' very often. If you really feel that your boy dolls should have 'man parts' then I think that different detachable or magnetic bits are the way to go. That way, you can have a 'soft' option for when your doll is sitting and you don't want a strange bulge, or even remove the whole thing and just use the different options if you need to take naked pictures of your doll for any reason. (And even though I don't think I'd ever have a real use for them, I do like the idea of different 'hard' parts, if for no other reason than for variety's sake. And it would be pretty useful for those who make 'adult' photostories. :huh?: )

I also wish that companies wouldn't censor their body pictures, because yeah, I want to know what I'm buying. For me though, I don't especially care what it looks like down there, since I don't ever take 'adult' pictures with my dolls and I only end up seeing it when I change their clothes or, every once in a while, have to prove that my slightly-less-masculine guy is, in fact, a GUY. (But then my friends make fun of him for his tic-tac penis, or even pity him, which he HATES, naturally. Maybe that's why I can't find a girlfriend for him. He's definitely straight, but he ends up 'breaking up' with all the girls I try to have be his girlfriend. I think he's just so freakin' insecure about his manhood that she either gets fed up with the lack of sex, or he just ruins it with his performance paranoia. :nowords: )

    11. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
It's not important at all. The face sculpt is always more important to me.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
I think it's ridiculous. Come on,most BJD owners are adults,or at least old enough to know about man parts. Besides,I might not care about how the genitals look, but other people do and they have a right to know what they're buying.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
Nope. I bought a FantasyDoll Dane and his junk was censored,so I didn't even know what I was getting lol.

    12. Nope. I think it's a funny novelty of the hobby yes but it's not mandatory.

Avalon has a resin tic tac for man parts. It's hilarious in my eyes. (And yes he's been pants'd)

    13. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
Not at all important. I'm in the hobby for the enjoyment and appreciation of it as an art form, it matters very little how realistic the private parts are to me personally.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?

No, I think it is entirely appropriate. I believe we have enough perverts in society. I have two older sons and a young daughter so I am motivated as a mother and sensitive to this sort of thing because of that. Given the current crisis worldwide with pedophilia and even in the institution of the church, then perhaps it is even more necessary than ever. One must decide when enough is enough. If you want to look, then buy and look in private, its probably that simple. I also realise that this possibly creates a dilemma for the companies producing these dolls because it becomes difficult to show them for what they really are so the customer knows what they are purchasing. Perhaps they need to have the customer sign in using a disclaimer before they can view but its so easy to snip an image and share it and voila its out there. Hence the massive dilemma for online censorship. What to do?

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?

No, again it means little to me if its real or not real if the sculpt is what I admire. I am a face person because after all the rest is covered up 99% of the time anyway so why put so much emphasis on those bits.

Having said all of that I really do admire people who are able to produce anything so realistic like Marina Bychkova. I just don't know that they need to be so real and undressed permanently. Clearly there is a market for them though and in her instance a very lucrative one. I think perhaps draping them in a sheer fabric would show a little respect for the privacy of the body but again, thats just my view and I appreciate other peoples view will not be the same as mine.

    14. I use to not really give a shit.

Then I ot my Doll Love Kaja, and his junk looks like a peice fo rat poop glued to his crotch o.o And like, I don't even care how it LOOKS...but the way it's made, it's REALLY difficult to hold him or handle him without feeling it through his robes.

    15. This made me laugh. Poor guy. Maybe reshelling his body would fix all of his problems... he could finally be happy. xD

      Anyway, to answer the questions:

      1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
Whether I'll settle for less depends on the character I have in mind. With MSD sized dolls or immature sculpts, it really wouldn't be an issue as long as there was something representative there. Detail in every aspect is part of what is so fascinating to me about these dolls, everything from veins to fingernails to, yes, man parts. I realize detailed, somewhat proportionate sculpting may be less important or even offensive to other people, which is why we should be glad there are many different companies out there to choose from.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
I can understand it here on the forum, but when it comes to company photos, if I'm going to shell out several hundred dollars for a product I would darn well like to see all of it. It's not like I'm some pervert who likes to stare at tiny resin sausages all day, but I think we should be able to see what we are getting. If it's a legal issue, why not slap on some disclaimers or make it mandatory to register on the site as 18+ to view 'expanded' versions of the dolls' sale pages? It may be easy to cheat, but it's still more than you have to do to see more graphic pictures elsewhere on the internet, and for that amount of effort I think the real perverts will go somewhere else. I mean, it's a DOLL. o_O

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
Shopping for bodies specifically, for a certain character, yes. Nothing like looking up a very attractive and nicely muscled body, detailed and supposedly having nice posing abilities, only to find out he's got a lil' Cheeto slapped on there down below. That's just inconsistent on the part of the artist. I mean, it doesn't have to be graphic, and I definitely understand the pants-fitting dilemma for the more gifted guys out there, but it should at least look like what it is supposed to be and the design should flow well with the level of realism present in the rest of the body.

    16. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
well i like the fact it's there actually, it would look rather funny a guy BJD had nothing!

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
company sometimes yes, i knows it's there i would like to see the whole sculpt i am thinking of buying~!

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
i am not going to lie, i wanted to buy a ringdoll for their man part ; D it's so fun so say "wanna see what his man part can do?"

    17. All of my male dolls are of the fashion/character type. They don't and never have had genitals. The Miro doll body will be my first guy with a penis. Does it matter? It might in terms of his clothes looking or fitting right, yes, but otherwise, not really. I don't love my other guys any less because they are not similarly equipped. Do I mind pics being censored. Actually no, it kind of makes me laugh though to see that, because hey, it's just a doll, and often it's not consistent. I've seen pics on here where I can clearly see everything from one angle but the next one is blurred. Makes no sense to me. Same thing with tits. I really don't care. It's a DOLL, and actually I don't care much when it's real people either. I'm a photographer and I do boudoir work, I see naked people in front of my camera and I don't freak, enough said. As for purchasing or not because of the look of a penis, again, no. Not even a factor. I'm not used to dolls with genitals anyway so actually having dolls with any is new to me and maybe kind of cool.

    18. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
For me, it is kind of important but not a deal breaker. I like it to look realistic and in proportion. I've seen too many penises that have so little attention to detail that they look like over sized tic-tacs glued on that it is off putting. Also, I don't need them to look like a fire hose either. If their junk interferes with pants fitting it drives me nuts!

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
I understand why the companies do this -- the showing of private parts is not allowed in Japan which is why hentai gets censored (Why I know this: Too many beers at a convention and the subject of Japanese porn came up...) So a lot of times it is not modesty, but rules and regulations on what they can show. It also borders on the edge of child porn in some places so it is better to be safe than sorry.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
Yes. I was way too bothered by a BEAUTIFUL sculpt (don;t remember who by) and the aforementioned oversized tic tac was such a turn off. It was like they put all this attention to detail in the rest of the doll and got puritanical when it got to the boy bits. I seem to remember him having a sack that would but an elephant to shame, but nothing up front. This was early on in my doll experience and it might not sway me now but it bothered me then.

As a proud owner of a Ringdoll, if I bring him to a meetup, I joke that the meetup is a failure if the people who have not seen him don;t pants him once they find out. He went to a house party (I was on my way home from a meet) and the girls oohed and aahed over him and the shrieks of laughter happened when we took of his trousers. I managed to scar more than one guy that day ;)

    19. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
Only a little. Luckily for me, the sculpt I like best (Soom's Super Gem) has parts I don't find too inappropriate. They're the right balance between 'realistic' and 'pragmatic' (because overly-large bits would make clothing a hassle and possible limit posing ability).

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
Not 'upset' really, but I do think it's a bit silly. I'd find it much more annoying if I bought dolls from other companies, since I like to know what I'm buying before I pay, and censorship rather goes against that!

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
Nope - I avoid that by having a preference for one particular sculpt.

    20. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
For me it's really important. I don't like asexual dolls, they are boring, unnatural. Even my daughter's baby doll has it's private boy's parts. And it would be strange for the otherwise perfectly anatomically correct doll for adults not to have those parts. It's like women dolls without breasts. Brrr.
      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
It doesn't upset me, it's too strong a word. I don't get it, for me such policy just plain stupid. I mean... they are dolls for adults. And how can watching dolls' privates by adults on dolls' site be wrong or criminal? And when I pay for product, I have a right to get full information about it. About forum members... it's totally their decision. If they don't want to show that parts, they just don't show.)))
      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
I'm lucky, all my dolls have great bodies))) I wouldn't buy asexual doll.
