Man Parts - How Important Are They?

Feb 22, 2012

    1. 1. How important is it? It's important to me. I want all their joints and parts to look nice, so that includes the private parts.

      2. Censorship. Usually I can find a picture of it someplace else, like an owner picture.

      3. Have you ever decided not to purchase a male BJD because of man parts? YES. I HAVE. But similarly, I have decided not to purchase dolls based on their ankle joints and other parts. I just want everything on the doll to be perfect.

    2. How important is it to you?: It does bother me that a lot of companies make it just this little oval thing with no definition. The size is not the issue rather the shape or lack there of.

Censorship: I think that it is utterly ridiculous that the doll parts be censored. They don't have anything that we don't already have as human beings. And as far as the "but what if a child is looking at the pictures?" questions. If a child is indeed looking at pictures of BJDs then they have already expressed an interest and should they get one for them selves (or maybe already have one) would their doll need to be censored from them? It's just a being overly sensitive in my opinion. All dolls come nude, if you want to change his clothes you are going to have to see him nude. We should all be adults about this. That being said I still respect DoAs rules of requiring in the post name if there is actual nudity.

Have you decided not to purchase a male BJD because of the man part?: As of yet, no. But I have seen some with no man parts and I was very disturbed. If the doll is supposed to be an adult or mature doll it needs parts. The younger ones need not any gender parts as I find gender parts on dolls that are under the age of 12 a little creepy. If they were a doll I feel in love with but had poor man parts I would simply mod him to give him a bit more shape. Like I said earlier size is not really an issue as long as it actually resembles what it is supposed to.

    3. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
I want my boys to be correct. From my tinies, all the way to my SD boys.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
Yes and no. I understand why they do it but let's be honest. We all know that bjds are.....correct down below so to speak. Censoring them is just stupid in my personal opinion.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
Not as of yet.....but it might happen in the future.

    4. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
I collect male BJDs, so I'd like it to be as correct as the rest of the sculpture at least. To me it's a total fail if a lot of work went into the foot or quadriceps and then the penis is just a nob.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
Not really. I get why some people or companies do but I think it's lame sauce. We're buying models of a human being. They might as well blur out the nose or elbow. I have seen the David in Italy and believe me the detail is not spared on that giant, so I don't get why they are on these dolls.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
Nope, not yet. I don't think I will though. I just want the overall effect to be consistent, so if the detail on the body is soft then fine, but if there is veining, tendons and obvious musculature everywhere...then, enough said.

    5. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
I never gave it a second thought before now, but on a larger (70+cm) doll, I'd probably want better or more realistic trouser snakes. I never thought about the difficulty with dressing a well-endowed male doll, but... meh?

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
Yes, but only because they don't censor female parts. I ask what's the difference? You don't put stickers over classical sculptures.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
No, although "nightmare haggis" might put me off my dinner.

    6. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
It's not imperative, but if you're going to have something there then at least have enough that if the owner chooses to blush it or wants it to show when they're wearing clothes. That's how I feel anyways.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
No, but it's a bit weird to me. I really don't have too much of an opinion one way or another, it's personal preference.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
I don't own a male doll, but I certainly don't care about genitals when it comes to a doll. If they TRULY bother me I can always mod them because it's such a small part of the doll.

    7. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
i thinks its just something sign man all get, its quite nature and normal. anyway, if there aren't the manhood sculpts, i can also accept. nobody will see them if his in pants.
      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
sometimes~ to be frank, and if its really "eye catching", it did embarrassed me, even im a male myself! not to sat girls!
      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
that did not happy. the reason same with term one, i can accept those sculpts, cuz i can hide them in pants and try to ignore them when i dress my doll.
      hope this help~

    8. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
It's reasonably important to me, but definitely not a deal-breaker. I want my boys to be anatomically male, but I'm not so hung up on the sculpting of boy bits that it would make me decide to buy or not buy a doll. I don't buy dolls for their boy bits. I choose them for their faces and overall appearance.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
Upset? No, but I do find it annoying when BJD companies sensor the doll's private parts. When I'm buying something, I want to be able to see all the details of what I'm buying. It's a sales photo of a doll, so there really shouldn't be any reason to sensor it. As for owners censoring their photos, I think owners should be free to do what they like with their photos.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
No. See my answer to question 1.

    9. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
      - I don´t own male BJD, but in my opinion if doll is male there should be good and realistic genitals down there.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
      - If I´m to bye male doll, I would love to see first what´s down there. I understand forum censoring If in forum there is under age users.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
      - To me it is quite important to know. Same goes with women dolls and there boobs.

    10. I don't like genitalia any on dolls no matter how old they are supposed to be.

    11. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
Very important...if the sculpt is an adult male then I expect his bits to look like an adult male. I'm a guy and it just bothers me to see a little bump where a dude's junk should be

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?

I don't like it but I respect when they do.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?

Not for my first guy but his bits turned out to be unexpectedly detailed. Now I want to see the bits before I consider buying a doll or body.

    12. If it was up to me, all my dolls would be flat chested and any boys I got would be genital free! This might bother some people but I have my reasons and it is what has put me off buying a male doll so far. I am planning to conquer this soon I hope, but it's a tough one. If I wasn't worried I would have to resell down the line, I would mod any boys I got until they were practically genderless!

    13. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
I expect my male dolls to look like males. I prefer realistic sculpts.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
I would like to see what I'm getting. I think it's pretty ridiculous that they don't show men parts when they happily show boobs. I own a Ringdoll. That junk is JOINTED. I had no idea until someone mentioned it on the discussion board - now that's wrong (that I didn't know)

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
I'm very leery about purchasing a Dragon Doll because their junk is removable (3 sizes) which is all fine & dandy except for the stories of parts FALLING OFF! Also if it's TOO big it will get in the way of posing & clothing (cause unlike real males resin junk ain't squisheable). If the problem w/the doll is genitals that are not realistic enough that wouldn't stop me buying the doll - it would just annoy me.

    14. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
If it's there, whatever, but I'd prefer no detailed genitalia just to avoid people making perverted jokes and/or freaking out at me.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
No, I think all doll censorship is kind of unnecessary / funny though.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
No, if I found a male doll with a gorgeous enough face I'd probably add him to my wishlist regardless.

    15. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
Not important at all. I would buy a guy based on his face sculpt and if he looks nice with his shirt off.

2.Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
Not really. I realize that these dolls are works of art and we like to see everything before we buy. But I can't think of any other doll that you can see pictures of how they look without their included clothes before you buy. Since bjds are different, and don't always come with clothes, at least we get to see almost everything. There are a lot of places in the world where bear breasts are acceptable but not a bear penis.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
No and I never would. Why descriminate against an entire doll just because of his penis? I'm not going to be taking full frontal nudity pics anyway, unless it's as a comparison request or something. At some point I'm going to get a male Obitsu 65cm body, to make a male DD hybrid. That body doesn't have any junk at all. I know some would think this makes him too Ken-doll-like, but it doesn't bother me. I really only care if they look good in a swimsuit (and that goes for girls too).

    16. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
Not important, in fact I am the strange one who would rather have no sculpting there at all. I am to the point where I sand the parts down. That way I don't feel uncomfortable with the doll.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
For a long time it did upset me. I want to see it. Besides, sometimes they censor too much and you can't see the joints. I would like them to have a button to direct one to the pictures with a warning. That sounds much better. That way you know what you are buying.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
I have decided against a few doll brands for this reason. I guess they do matter to me.

    17. 1. Not very importaint. I am not going to take any erotic photosets where "this thing" will be shown. I am not even blushing this area, because now it will only make more problems with cloth changing.
      2. I don't care about it. If it's not joined or special any other way, then there is no need in showing this.
      3. How "this thing" can be more important than face? :p

    18. I wouldn't really want to buy a male doll that didn't have some vague kind of manpart down there, but that's where the discrimination ends for me. I don't really care what it looks like or how detailed/not detailed it is, as long as it exists in some way. I do think it's ridiculous that so many companies censor the dolls, though. As the customer spending lots of money on these dolls, I think I deserve to know exactly what I'm getting. It's just a penis. Dude's have 'em. And if they're worried about minors stumbling across the pictures, how is it any different than kids seeing statues with penises on them? I just think it's dumb.

    19. I'm not too particular about the man bits on dolls, but I will say that I would NEVER buy a male doll without the bits. Size and shape are minor concerns for me when buying a doll, and I choose to focus more on their chests and faces. I'm not really one for nude photography, so it doesn't matter as much. I will say, however that censorship is a bit stupid to me. I just feel like a penis and testicles are just natural body parts, and I'd say that those who are in this hobby are already familiar with what these body parts look like.

    20. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
Oddly important. The manhood on my doll just looks sad. It looks like they lobed on a hunk of resin, at least it looks ok through clothing.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
It doesn't upset me, it just seems off to sensor as it is a doll.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
Haven't bought another doll in a while so I don't really know if manhood sculpting will deter me or not. I'll probably stick to the face as that is part most of the world will see.
