1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Man Parts - How Important Are They?

Feb 22, 2012

    1. ^^ Totally this. Hahahaha!

    2. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
Not important at all. To be honest, I could live with not having man parts at all. I mean, to me it's just a doll, that represents a character. The character do have parts, but it is in no way important, and I can just pretend it's there.
Even if he lacks man parts, if I say it's a male, it's a male.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
Not at all. Again not very important to me.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
      Never.

    3. This.
I care about how the guys in my crew look dressed. The level of detail their bits may or may not have under an outfit makes very little difference to me. I don't display or photograph them nude, so "realism" is just not a concern.

As for size... I've owned a Dollshe Hound. Bigger is *not* always better when it comes to finding pants that fit and look good, and I found myself wishing more than once that his sculpt was more like my CP and Volks guys' in that respect. I can't even imagine how much of a pain in the rear dressing anything even more pronounced would be. <_<

So, if that's what you want OP, have at it... But personally, I'm glad most BJDs are on the smaller side. It makes pants a whole lot easier.

    4. I wanted a boy, and I got a boy, if he didn't have a **** I would have felt cheated. As a friend of mine pointed out, I wanted a boy, not a ken doll.

It does bother me when BJD companies AND DoA censor dolls genitals, I mean c'mon guys, THEY'RE NOT REAL. GET OVER IT.

And lastly, no. How ridiculous, that's what PANTS are for.

    5. If male dolls had a normal sized penis the sculptor would have to decide which side to hang it on, like real men do, so that they could wear pants! Then the doll would look quite ridiculous nude! LOL!

Or they could just joint them. XD

    6. PM me the pics and you get your cookies. XD

    7. My Ryuichi "dresses" to the left, and Tatsuha dresses to the right. Its all about where to put the seam. :3nodding:

I love that they're NOT Ken dolls, it makes them more real in my imagination. And they both wear tight pants and look amazing in them, even in tight leather pants.

Having that man part is important to me. If I wanted a Ken doll, I would have bought one and saved myself a ton of money. >;P

And Arashi Uchiha, your pics are coming! ;)

    8. Well, I like the accuracy of these dolls so I do care about the 'man bits' of my babies.

    9. Personally, I am glad they are there, but I am also glad they are not super detailed. I know they are not real, but it would still make dressing and undressing them a little awkward for me. Yeah, I know, I am weird like that. >.>
I might be more weirded out if they weren't there though.

    10. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
It's important that it's there, but I don't need a ton of detail. I think part of what differentiates BJD's is their anatomical correctness. So option parts not necessary, in my situation they'd be awkward to have though I find them amusing, but otherwise yes, for an older doll.

For the smaller dolls (Yo-SD and smaller), it doesn't really matter to me.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
Yes, just because I like to know as much of what I'm getting as possible. I don't understand what the deal is with censoring parts of your product.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
So far I haven't been deterred, no.

    11. I always found it really weird that they are... Uh, shall we say "neutered?" I wish they were... let's say "intact." But I guess I can see where some people would be weirded out by that! XD But to answer the question, I'm not interested in what my dolls have got going on downstairs, although I guess if it looked strange enough I would care, just as I would care if some other part of the body looked strange.

    12. Well I can contribute to this thread again. My gang boy arrived last night, but I had to fetch him this morning because the post office was closed by the time I got home last night - what a cheek! :?Anyway, I am pleased to announce his manly bits or genitals are in order and he even has testicles! So I'm going to make some pants for him to wear lest he become embarrassed about his nakedness.

    13. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
Not very? I mean, Its probably gonna end up covered by clothing anyway. Its definetly a nice detail, and I'd be kinda dissapointed if it wasn't there. Doesn't mean I'm a manbit connoisseur to judge it after its there though!

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
Honestly? Yes. I mean, I'm putting some effort down for this body, the least you can do is show me that 500$ junk >:O I understand censorship laws, but considering its a doll and it isn't quite pornographic, it just seems silly to me.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
      No? :?

    14. Well, they're semi-important, but never a deciding factor for me. I prefer to look at possibility.
And yeah, I really don't like censored doll junk on the companies websites. It isn't a deciding factor in whether or not I buy, but I'd still like to SEE such things if I'm paying money for them.

But ultimately... As long as he has junk I'll be happy. What I WON'T ever buy is a female body with just a derpy line carved down there. XD

But for guys, as long as they aren't sexless ken monsters, it's cool. I know for sure that I wouldn't buy a body that DIDN'T have one, that would just be too weird.

    15. I still think it would be a good idea to have a special thread so we can post photos of the manly bits for those interested to see. Thread could be accessed by a special password from the mods and identity number/date of birth could pass as proof of age so people could be sent the password. It works that way on dollieh sanctuary (not demeaning anyone - but suggesting something.)

    16. Ps: I'm not talking about dollieh porn here.

    17. Some of my "boys" appear naked so without man parts they'd look a little silly.

I'm not too fussed about the accuracy of the sculpting in that area because with the right blushing you can make it look a little more realistic. But even in the nude shots although "it" is on show it's not vital that it gets looked at and scrutinized.

I'm not that bothered by pixelated images of the man parts, as long as I know the doll has one I'm fine with it. But it is important that the doll definitely has all the bits he needs!

    18. Seeing genitals on male dolls kind of creeps me out actually, so I'd prefer if there was just a non-descript bump and no detail whatsoever. :P

    19. I'm sure Greek men had just as much of a variety as everyone else, the deal with the statues is that a small penis with a long, tapered foreskin was preferred at the time. The ancient Greeks thought it to be more attractive that way and *ehem* more enjoyable for the ladies.

    20. Umm, I guess I'll answer these too, sinse I've been disgussing this topic with my friends more than a couple of times. :D

      1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?

To me it is quite important, because when buying a doll for a price of BJDs, I expect to have perfect anatomy. It isn't actually the size I'm looking at, but rather the sculpting. I've seen BJDs who have just like a cylinder chuck of resin stuck there, and it looks not only unnatural but very very ugly.
I've also seen doll mod's that have an enormous manhood, and to my opinion it isn't usefull, sinse it's far more difficult to find suitable trousers for that. :/
I can accept dolls without anything in there, because even that is better than some awkward piece of resin.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?

Yes, it really upsets me, in fact that much that I have to go on a forum or any other sourse of pictures of that doll already in owner's hands to see what the guy has. It's also kinda unfair that they censor only the male doll's parts and don't censor boobs etc. I expect that those, who are capable of buying and browsing those pages are mature enough not to be shocked by doll parts.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?

Actually, yes. It just looked really ridiculous to me to see really muscular manly bodies with a manhood smaller than ones finger. As an artist I like to see believable anatomy and for my doll to look good without covering some part of body all the time. :/
