Man Parts - How Important Are They?

Feb 22, 2012

    1. Err... exactly WHOSE finger are we talking about here? XD If you're complaining about a doll with a manhood smaller than YOUR finger, I'd suggest that even the biggest manliest Idealians couldn't quite match up with those expectations!

    2. I'm gonna feel a bit weird posting here but here is what i think... :sweat

      1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
I don't really care about the sculpting. Just as long as its not too big...

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?

The company should at least have one photo to show you what it looks like to see if you want the doll that way, but the owner can cover the parts if they choose to.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
I am going to purchase my first boy dollie soon and i don't really care about his parts that much, i worrie a bit on the looks, face, body (i don't like the bodies that make the males look anorexic).

    3. I don't think we should have to go as far as a pw, but I'd definitely love to see a thread where you can see the full uncensored scuplt. I know when you're spending all that time researching which doll you want it can be annoying not being able to know exactly what you're getting into.
Reading this thread some of the posters are freaked out by the man bits, so getting to see "oh hey he's fully articulated and really detailed- I don't want him" or even the opposite "Meh not digging the cocktail sausage look, I want something more" would be helpful to buyers.

      1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
It is not too important to me, since the face and torso are my biggest drews when purchasing a doll. Now to be fair I just bought a second hand doll, who's previous owner made him a castrati...I fully intend to replace his missing manhood.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
Actually yes, as I stated above I like to see all the details of a doll. When the artist spends that much time on a sculpture it'd be nice to admire all thier work.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
At the risk of being a total perv...At a meet up recently I got to see a gorgeous scuplt and I really liked him, but then the owner showed me just how "detailed" he was. I loved how much attention to detail they put into the doll overall. If I decide to break my nothing over 60cm rule he is totally coming home with me.

    4. Haha, you KNOW I meant the doll's finger, not mine! XD But thanks for a good laugh, as I imagined a doll with that kind of thing... kinda gross. XD I bet it won't sell that well.

    5. -giggles- I shall answer these~

      1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
It's not gonna detour me from buying the dolls, but I do love one that looks realistic. My RS Ming came with the flattest head ever and it's still kind of weird to me. While my DollZone Mo on the old SJ body has a very nice manhood~

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
YES. It's just silly! I'm sorry, but if you're in the hobby then you'll have to see boobs, penis, and vaginas on dolls. And if you're on the doll forums at work, then you should know what threads would be NSFW. Ex: box openings.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
Nope! Like I said in the first, it won't detour me from buying.

    6. Very interesting thread to read, and personally, I didn't really think about the man bits before getting my dolls/bodies. I do find it strange if it's just a lump that looks like an afterthought, but it's not super high on my priority. As it is, finding a body with the right proportions and resin match (most of my dolls are hybrids, haha) is hard enough, without adding penis size/shape to the mix. I do think it's nice if they're sculpted more realistically than the tic tac shape, but it's not that big a concern. I did, however, took some photos with my Nobility Emotional body (the one with a twirling penis, that's strung separately) but it was more to see what happens. It's like, hey, since the twirling bit is already there, let's try and see what turns out, rather than, hey, I'm going to get a body with a movable/changable penis to take photos of.

    7. I'm new with bjds but think having somewhat realist man parts is important. Without them it would be just like Barbie kens and their manjinas.

    8. I own a boy doll and it wouldn't matter to me if he wasn't .... um fully sculpted lol^^;;; Same with my girls for that matter haha. As long as they are comfortable with who they are, that's all that matters:)

    9. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
its not. thats not why I get them

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
I think they shouldnt, if people who are buying them want realistic parts, they should know what it looks like and not be surprised

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
      no

    10. for me the most important thing is that it's there! But I think I'd be annoyed too if the sculpt of the doll is gorgeous but they neglected his genitals. It doesn't have to be super realistic and detailed but it's important it looks like what it's supposed to be.
Size doesn't really matter to me. Yet though I remembered I said " it's kinda small " when I ordered my IOS Blood XD

I also rememberd that when my friends Photon arrived, I was amazed by how lovely the body blushing was done, but I was kinda dissapointed when I noticed his manly bits were completely blank.
there was even pubic hair included in the sculpt, but not even that was body blushed. It's like they were afraid of it and avoided it at all cost :').

    11. It bugs me... A LOT.
I am a guy, and it is quite horrifying to see a fully grown BJD with such tiny stuff there. I usually don't like to look at it at all, and it's not because I am disturbed by the fact that it's there, but actually because I'm offended by the idea that it is sooo small...
I get that this particular area is not that easy to sculpt in something as hard as resin. I mean that particular area of the human body is anything BUT hard (at least most of the time it is not). And since realistically a man's package looks very different when he's standing up, sitting down, wearing underwear or wearing nothing at all, so it must be quite difficult getting it to look as realistic as other body parts... still I wish someone would make it look more accurate...

    12. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
It is of absolutely zero importance. In fact, I would be perfectly happy if people didn't sculpt them on at all and just left a Ken-like bump there, as they can be kind of annoying when clothing guys.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
No, not at all. Like I said, it's not important to me at all and I can absolutely understand why some people would do this. I don't do it, but that's because more often than not I tend to forget that my dolls have penises in the first place. :sweat

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
No, I don't pay any attention to this at all, actually. They could sculpt a fig leaf, daikon radish or even a relief of the Mona Lisa there and I likely wouldn't even notice. What I care about is a doll's face and how well it poses, not whether or not it has a realistic penis or otherwise. It's honestly surprising me hardcore that people even care...:nowords: *smaaall frame of reference*

    13. as i am currently concidering getting my first boy im glad i found this topic ... i had never concidered it before today ... im looking for 46cm male with a slightly more mature looking boday so its going to be a hunt for the 'all-inclusive' package

    14. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?
Sigh... I care. I don't want to care, but I do. If I'm shelling out hundreds of dollars for a perfectly-proportioned little human (or elf, or vampire, etc) I want the doll to be as realistic as possible.
      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?
YES. I want to know what I'm buying!!! That, and the fact that we're going to see them anyway in doll collecting. It's just annoying to have to hunt for other pics of the sculpt I'm trying to buy, when I should just be able to scroll down after a NSFW warning or something.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?
Yes. I refuse to purchase an oversize Ken doll, since that defeats the whole "realism" aspect of why I'm impressed with BJD's in the first place. I get creeped out a bit by kiddie sculpts, so I need the doll to look as grown up as possible. I know it was stated before that the altered look is so they can fit better into pants, but there is no reason to be completely... flat.

    15. 1. In regards to male BJDs, how important to you is the manhood sculpting?

Not very! I'll have a giggle if it looks silly, and my brother occasionally accuses me of looking at porn when I'm looking at nekkid dollies but we're both 25+ so it doesn't really mean anything.

      2. Does it upset you when the BJD company or forum members censor the man parts when posting pictures of male BJD sculpts?

Not upset, per se. But I don't really see the big deal. I watch a lot of videos, too, and people freaking out over the penis sends me to my back button pretty quick. It's just pretty immature to me. But I get there's a lot of teenage BJD owners, so I don't really judge them for it too harshly.

If you feel you need to censor or anything like that, I prefer poses where it doesn't show, or using the doll's hand to cheesy stars or stupid pictures on top of it. It's just tacky, to me.

      3. Have you ever purchased or decided not to purchase a male BJD sculpt after you saw his man parts?

No, not really. It's not a huge priority.

But I have a fun tale related to this subject. I forget the user name, but a guy bought his first BJD, and he was doing a box opening video. It was a 70-ish cm Ringdoll. Apparently he had a jointed penis. And he was being downright adorable about his reaction. He sat him down for a moment, legs straight out, and then picked him up and stood him up again and the penis was still sticking straight out. He was all "Nonono, don't get excited." And pushed it back down with like the very tip of one finger.

It was hilar. I was giggling for a looooong time after watching that.

    16. Whether he has or has not is of little importance to me as long as it's aesthetically ok and proportional. I would like that part to be removable as to fit pants better. *o* Or a hump~ a proportional hump~ coz flat would be for girls.

    17. You need a dollshe boy. ;)
Especially the rhythmos body. It was not only huge but difficult to clothe! The pure body is nearly as big but easier to dress. Its not movable though...

My Dollzone 72cm is tiny and flat. It bugs me in comparison. So, I think the realism of the man bits should be in proportion to the realism of the sculpt.

    18. I am kind of the opposite ._.
1)I don't see the point of it, personally
2)No actually I don't want to see it uncensored. >_< I think it's good that they respect people who don't want to be shocked into it. Especially if you're new to bjds
3)Yes, since I don't want that part at all on a doll. I find it, personally, useless since all I want in my dolls is the ability to pose, I might be a bit squeemish about purchasing a male bjd for this reason.
Maybe they undersize it to compromise.

I understand that some people want realism but it's not for me. *_* I find there's a problem in general with finding any bjd that's not fully equipped for that matter. But I guess that's what modding is for .x.
Either way the market knows there are people who wanted some realism, so they responded accordingly.

    19. 1. A man must be a man. Not 'something without tits' 2. Not upset. I just don't get this: we all are civilized people (if we can use computer), learn biology at school, so what is it wrong in picturing water-engine? I mean, every male human being has it. And not only human. Why should we be so hypocrite? And pretend that we have never seen it? Nonsense. 3. Waw. Interesting question. But they seem to me pretty alike. No? When i was looking for the body from the photo i was interested in, i studied boy bodies of 15 companies. (swearing like a navvy on there stupid censors) There is more difference in form of knees than in this [censored] ogran.)))) If you are a fetishist, you can extend it, paint, make pircing. As you wish. Individually.

    20. I would be happier if the man parts didn't exist. Why are they needed unless you're doing weirdo dolly stuff. My opinion. Don't be offended if you fall into the weird dolly uses category. That's just how I feel...
