Maskcat 57cm Dolls - part 2

Hi!

It's a bit of a long shot, but does anyone know of a good body to hybrid the Maskcat heads?

I'd love to get a more voluptuous body for a Frances head in pink skin (their current normal skin) ! The androginy of the Maskcat body is so dainty and elegant, but I also kinda like the beautiful curves of rubanesque tradition.

For the moment, I am kind of eyeing the following bodies:

Doll Family H 58cm girl body in pink (Body - 63cm Female (without head, makeup) - Doll Family-H Doll Family)
Asleep Eidolon 60cm girl body (1/3 60cm Girl Body(AE-F-60) | Asleep Eidolon (aedoll.com))
Dollmore Glamor Eve body in pink (Dollmore.net :: Everything for Doll & more)
Argodoll female body plus size 1/3 in normal pink (Female body plus size 1/3 | Argonautica Dolls (argodoll.com))

If you have one of these bodies, even in a different color, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me if the hybrid could work! Or if you have seen one of those hybrids somewhere, I'd love a picture.

Of course, if you got other body suggestions, I am all ears! Let me see your beauties please.

EDIT: I settled my mind on an Argodoll plus size female body in natural pink! Thanks Teruchand and Cauldroness for the pictures of hybrids, I will post the results once I can order the body and head (so quite a lot of months from now...)

 

@lyaam12 , my MaskCat girl is a very close match to Sadol Normal (Sadol is a smidgen lighter/brighter). I've got the DG60 body but there's also DG59, DF61, Love 60 and Love 63. I could try a head swap if you wanted to see?

@lyaam12 I'm sorry I don't have anything to help, but I just wanted to say that Argodoll plus size body is so gorgeous! I'd love to see it work for you!

I'm curious to know if anyone has tried a Black Cherry head (specifically Xiaoyu but probably all are similar size?) on a Mascot body? I'm guessing it won't work since the Black Cherry head is quite small just on wig-size alone, but just wondering if I can justify adding more dolls to my collection if I know they can body share, hehehehe

 

@kuro : I love the Argodoll body too! The only thing I dislike about it is the feet, that are a bit too small IMO. But sexy curves FTW! Their normal pink color could also be close enough to just require blushing to match (or I could just shell out more to get the custom color) and the neck size is the same. I am just a bit afraid of the proportions not matching though. I hope someone can help you too!

MaskCat Astrid head (normal) on a Sadol DG60 body (also normal). The resin match isn't perfect but it's pretty darn good, and I really like the proportions. The head fits nicely on the neck.
In fact, I think I'm probably going to keep her on this body!

Angell Studio is also a really good match! Here's my Angell Studio head (butter) on the MaskCat body (butter).

 

@kuro - I don't have photos of the Xiao Yu head on a Maskcat body, but I've seen photos on Instagram (I'm not sure where exactly, but if you search for blackcherryichigo they might turn up) of Black Cherry Ichigo on the Maskcat bust. It looked quite nice, maybe a tiny bit small, but some of the camera angles made it harder to judge.

The Black Cherry heads are not all the same size (Aishat looks good on bodies as large as 65cm, for example) and I think Ichigo is a bit larger than Xiao Yu, so probably the Maskcat body would be too large for Xiao Yu. But I hope if someone else has both the head and the body they can post photos so you can decide for yourself!

 

@Cauldroness : Thank you so much! That's a pretty good match, I can't really see a difference in color from the photos! Your girls look so pretty.

 

@StellaMarigold Thank you, that's very helpful! I think you're right, most people put Xiao Yu on a 56-ish cm body or maybe a very lanky taller body. Oh well!

 

Has anyone found a brand of shoes fit well on Maskcat girls? Or any to avoid? I want to get Judit a pair of Victorian boots, but it's such a hassle finding shoes that work for specific feet! I'd like her to be able to stand safely in them without a stand.

 

@Ruinscathedral : I got luck with most sd-13 shoes and SD-Gr heels fit too with socks! I've got a lot of shoes from taobao, last from the Dolly Planet, who fit. 1/3 - Buy Discount 1/3 (dollyplanet.com)

The Maskcat body is pretty solid, she stands fairly well even in ill-fitting heels, though I didn't dare stray too far.

EDIT: I tried getting SDGR heels on with the Maskcat flat feet: it works better than with her hign heels, because it takes more space!

 

@Ruinscathedral I agree with @lyaam12 - Maskcat’s measurements are very similar to Volks SD13 so anything sold as SD or SD13 girl usually fits. My Ronia has a pair of loafers from Volks and a pair of flats from Marble Moon Shop and both fit well!

@lyaam12 Your Yael is beautiful! I wanted one for years, but in tan and currently tan is not available. And now I wonder if I like more Yael or Astrid.

While I'm here, a picture of my Lisette:



I took less care of her since I've painted her tattoos. Maybe I should buy her a new outfit to revive my interest in her.

 

@Follow-the-Wind : Thanks! My Astrid (WS) will be coming in the following weeks (I hope), so I can snap a picture of them side-by-side! IMO both Yaël and Astrid are beautiful, Yaël's blank is softer and more nuanced, Astrid's facial structure is simpler and sharper. Astrid also has rounder cheeks, which makes her look a bit younger. If I am not wrong, Maskcat often makes a tan even in the second half of the year...and we are in July. XD

Your Lisette is so pretty and unique! She would look good in anything (which doesn't help choosing an outfit for her I guess XD)

 

Hi, my WS Astrid came home! She is beautiful, even though she looks a bit different than what I expected. Perhaps I just need a bit of time? (She does look deliciously creepy if it makes sense. XD)

Here is a portrait of her, some comparison shot for between her WS hand and my Yaël NS thigh, as well as a shot of the two blushed heads under different lights, horror-movie style ( I maaaay have watched too much creepy stuff last night. XD). As you can see, the difference in color is there, but not jarring IMO. If anyone needs any other comparison picture, don't hesitate to ask!

EDIT: I think I'll take some other comparison shots this week-end, hopefully there will be a better light. Right now, that's the best I can do.

@lyaam12 congratulations! The colour difference is less apparent then I assumed. The WS really suits her more dramatic faceup!

@KiwiNinamori Oh my, yes! Magnets are not always a good thing. I currently have a pukifee without a magnet in one of her hands because, when I was changing hand, the magnet came out of the hand and remained on the body, but I did not see that and tried putting on the new hand which attached itself to the magnet that was left on the body but now I can not remove the magnet as it is stuck up in the wrist of the new hand along with the hand's magnet. So, I was able to attach the old hand without a magnet but I cannot get the magnet out of the new hand.

Anyway, this does relate to this thread because I was here, looking at owners pictures, deciding between a Fairyland SD Doll and a Maskcat SD doll and I was thinking about the "ease" of the magnets on the Fairyland dolls but after your comment, I remembered all the issues I have had with magnetic hand/feet attachments and realized that S hooks just might be a plus for Maskcat dolls!

My Question: What I would like to know from you all is how is their pose-ability? I am used to Fairyland and a Luts Delf (new body #5), which I like. I also have a couple of ResinSoul bodies which frustrate me to no end! I have read mixed reviews here and the previous Maskcat thread.
