1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    3. Hi! Not the sexiest picture (taken without a wig for clarity), but to those interested here is a comparison pic for 14 mm eyes with a 5 mm iris (right eye, on the left side of the picture) and 12mm eyes with a 6 mm iris (perhaps closer to 7 IMO, left eye on the right side of the picture). (If anyone is interested, Maskcat recommend 14mm eyes).

IMO, both the 14 mm and the 12 mm eyes work well, though there are more "shadows" on the 12 mm and the eyes do look more intense to me that way. The 14 mm seem a bit more "flat" (and it literally is less rounded, actually).

For iris size, I think both work fine. I may be a bit biased because I really like the intense amber color of the 12mm eyes (left eye) so I kinda prefer it, but 5mm iris work just as well, it does give a different impression though.

The wig that was meant for Yaรซl was also claimed by my Astrid for the pictures below (so I guess I'll have to find Yaรซl another ? XD), taken because I very impulsively purchased a gown from AyuAna. It's really lovely in person and with impressive workmanship. And huge. Like, really huge.

I probably will be re-making a veil to fit better with Pasiphaรซ (my Astrid) character and probably want to make some shoes to go with that impressive dress. Or perhaps some elegant, lady-like riding boots? Not that you could see anything under those skirts, but she is barefoot in these pictures. Those were hastily taken to show AyuAna that I did receive her and that everything fit perfectly. If anyone was considering buying from that dressmaker, I heartily recommend them.

    5. Kind of a random question, but could anyone tell me how strong the smell of the resin was when you first got your MC dolls? I have a strange sensitivity to chemical fumes (I call it strange because I don't know why I developed it) and I'm trying to figure out what I'll need to do when the doll arrives. If it's mild, then I could probably just open it in my room with my window open, but if it's moderate/strong I'll probably need to find a safe place to let it air out. I just want to know what to expect. (I'm also looking for the same information for Dollzone, but I'm not really sure where to ask because there are so many different DZ threads, so if anyone here knows the answer to that too I'd appreciate it.)

    6. This was just my personal experience, but my Bruna came with a certain... smell, bordering on stink, beyond the resin smell. I think maybe it was the box they send with it? It cleared up after a couple of days, but the smell was definitely more than just the resin scent I got from my Luts and Spiritdoll orders. I would probably try to find a safe spot to air her out, just to be safe. But maybe that was just a fluke with my order?

    7. Both my Yaรซl and my Astrid came with a smell, but I believe it's not the dolls, but the box (probably the glue? The smell kind of reminds me of some very old books, so it may be that.) . Some kind of musty? It doesn't really bother me, but airing it out, a lavender sachet in it (same stuff that you use for clothes) should solve the problem. If it does not work, you can put a bowl of ground coffee in the box (after you have drank the coffee and no need for fancy stuff: it's just to avoid waste). That's how perfume merchants did to avoid being overwhelmed with the smells.

I thing there is a very faint smell attached to the resin itself, but it may be the remnants of my IOS doll that is kept in the same drawer: that guy emits some strong fumes! But if you can't tolerate the fumes, airing it out may be best.

I have no idea for Dollzone, but you can post a post for every size of doll?

    8. @Ara.dox - I'm glad you asked that! I have a lot of problems with chemical odors (glues, fabric softeners, perfumes, etc.). I was quite worried about resin odors before I got my first doll, but I haven't had too many problems if I let them air out (although at this point I just have floating heads and one small 19cm doll so there's not a whole lot of resin to off-gas).

    9. @Ruinscathedral @lyaam12 @StellaMarigold Thank you for your replies! I might try airing out the doll and the box separately, just to see if that'll let me bring the doll in sooner. But I have several months to wait, so maybe I'll come up with a better solution by then.

    10. She is so pretty! I love her outfit. Where did you find it?

    11. Hello. I am thinking of getting a Maskcat as I love Dollstown dolls. I will be reading this thread when I have more time, but I was wondering other then secondhand which way do you all order. From Maskcat or a distributor? I want to be sure to not only get legit, but also wondering who got best shipping times. Thank you in advance for replies with info.

    12. I never ordered from a distributor, but when I ordered directly through her website, she gave me updates via instagram DM on when things were happening (e.g. faceup, shipping, etc.) which was really nice.

    13. I have ordered directly from Maskcat via Etsy shop and secondhand. I had no issue ordering via Etsy and the wait time was not too bad, right in line with the estimate at that time (was a few years ago)

    14. Thank you for information. Can I ask have you ordered since covid started and was the time to ship longer and if so by how much?

    15. @animemom : I have ordered twice from the website/Etsy, once in June 2020 (a fullset and 3 wigs, arrived in November 2020) and once in January 2021 (a full doll with faceup and 3 wigs) arrived in July 2021), without notable issue. (The first package however stayed in shipping limbo for a month and a half, but I guess that's the pandemic affecting postal service. )

Which one(s?) do you think of ordering?

    16. I ordered mine in December 2020, so while the pandemic had been raging for quite awhile. I was told it would be about 3-4 months to ship, and it took 4 months for it to ship, then another two weeks for it to arrive from there to Norway.

    17. I ordered through the website directly since I read that Etsy takes out more fees for them and I wanted to spare them that (I'm an Etsy seller myself, so I know the pain of fees haha). Shipping was higher through the website, but I think they refund some of it later?

So far my order just says "New" and I haven't communicated with them otherwise about it, but I have messaged them several times on Instagram and they've always been very friendly.

    18. I order from their website also to save them the fees or percentage that other sources will charge. My last order arrived in January of 2020 so before the pandemic started effecting shipments.

    19. I know she's in the process of redoing her website now, but it looks like it is still functioning.
