Maskcat 57cm Dolls - part 2

I know! I keep going back and forth between Francis, Evelyn, and Astrid. I'm leaning a little towards Francis right now. I definitely want the ballet feet and hands as that is what I want for my character. I might actually order another doll at another time. I have the much smaller Maskcat Joy and she is absolutely beautiful! I have until late December to make up my mind... Until then, I've been driving my husband nuts with the pictures! lol!

 

@Dollquest - I sympathize with having a lot of trouble deciding (although for me it was partly resin color, as I was torn between NS and WS). Frances is really lovely - I love her chin and the shape of her eyes. Astrid has beautiful classical features too (such a cute little mouth) and Evelyn has such a sweet expression. Frances was on my list too, but I eventually went with Juni because she fits the character I have in mind just a little bit better (she looks a tad older than the rest for me because her eyes are higher proportionally to her other facial features than the other girls).

All the gorgeous hands and feet definitely played a part in my decision to order - they are just so graceful!

@Dollquest : I totally understand hesitating between different heads. I currently have Yaël and Astrid and have ordered Frances, and that's all the heads I originally wanted. But with the right event and/or circumstances, I might also go after Margo, Ronia, Juni...or just get Yaël-Astrid-Frances blank and give them new alternative faceups, IDK.

They are all so gorgeous. XD

I am very tempted to order a 57cm doll, but who to choose :-)

 

Argh...it is so very tempting, but I already budgeted and am waiting for the Argodoll preoder to get a body for my Frances...

Their tan looks good though...I totally can imagine getting a doll in that color, but right now, there are no head that I really really want in tan.

I do want some feet though, but I'd rather wait for the December event or the release of another head for the 57cm line as I am not in a hurry and don't want to pay shipping only on that.

@kimlouiseb: It's so hard to choose, isn't it? XD You could always get the one you prefer now and change the head later. Who are the "candidates"?

 

Yael is my favourite I think.
I only own small dolls at the moment, so even though i love the idea of a large doll, I'm finding it a bit daunting.

 

It almost sounded as if the tan option was not going to be an "event only" thing. Anybody else get that? Also, on Instagram she did say that there was going to be a Winter "Anniversary Event!" I am glad because that is when I will be able to purchase.

 

Yes, they said that because they had solved an issue with sanding tan skin that it would be available outside of events as well. That's pretty neat - it's such an appealing color!

 

Yes, @Dollquest I read it that way too, and there is another post on IG saying that Tan is now a default option not just for events.

I am currently off work recovering from Covid and have just spent the last few days obsessing about Maskcat dolls. :-)

I think I will have to order via Alice's Collections though as I will need a decent layaway which means I will miss out on the 10% discount.

 

I also understood that tan would be readily available, like NS and WS. Such great news for tan lovers!

Hi everyone This is the first time I’m finding myself so tempted to get a SD. I used to think the size may be too much but ffffff. After seeing @kuro ’s Ronia on IG and an amazing Margo faceup by kingyo.bjd, the temptation is so strong! I’ve been mulling over on jumping ship for about 2 weeks now. That’s probably a sign to do it right? XD

I'm the same. Never thought I would be tempted by an SD but I can't get them out of my mind. Although it is Bruna/Yael in my case. That kingyo.bjd face up is stunning!

 

@kimlouiseb Hi! I’m so glad to find someone else in the same boat. I’ve been sharing my excitement with a friend but it’s just not the same as someone else who’s going through the same dilemma you know? I already have so many ideas on how I want to customize and maybe even set up a room box and ffff so much brainstorming and I haven’t even jump the gun yet haha. I have Ronia sitting in my cart right now but I don’t know. I think it’s just the cost that’s really holding me back more than anything right now. Even though all considering, she’s super affordable for that size.

What’re your thoughts on it/what’s holding you back from diving in?

 

I think they are very affordable for what they are, but it does feel like a lot of money. All that's holding me back at the moment is finances, as I have my son's and husbands birthdays this month, plus Christmas approaching. But I am very tempted to put one on layaway next month via Alice's Collections or Maskcat directly. Or I may hold out until December as there will be an anniversary event running then. I worked out that a 4 or 5 month layaway would be quite comfortable, and I don't mind the wait.

Saying that, I have just purchased a 26cm Maskcat doll (she was in stock) to tide me over. This was from selling a doll though so already classed as doll funds in my head. :-)

 

@kimlouiseb It does feel like a lot since it’s a lump sum. Then again, I’ll be spending money like nothing on Amazon because it’s a bunch of little things. It adds up so quickly though

We actually have a ton of birthdays this month too: Dad, Uncle, Grandma’s hubby, and our pup’s haha.

I can’t do Christmas at all, our extended family is kind of big so I usually just buy gifts for people younger than me. The adults gotta wait till their birthdays for gifts

A layaway would be nice! I personally can’t do them though. I prefer paying the lump sum and not having to worry about payments. Buy it and forget it type of thing. I’ve been researching on the turnaround and it seems to range from 2-4 months? Probably more towards the 4 since it seems like the company is getting more customers versus before. I think another factor for me is the waiting. Whenever I’ve bought directly from companies in the past, I lose interest when the doll comes in. Probably because the timeframe always end up getting pushed back past the estimated by double.

Congrats on the new girl! How exciting. Do you have any plans set for her yet?

 

No plans yet. She is tan and is coming with a face up. I just love their whole aesthetic so I"m looking forward to seeing her in the flesh. She fits Blythe size clothes too which is a bonus.
I don't know if you follow Lavily Day on YouTube, but she recently acquired a Frances and did a very good unboxing video if you need anymore convincing :-)

 

@kimlouiseb Thank you for the recommendation! Coincidentally, YT was the first place I went to when my interest started. She was the reason why I decided SD will be okay. Seeing her handling the body and the size reference really helped a lot with perspective.

I’m totally bias towards tan resin ❤️ Blythe clothes are so cute too! She’ll be so fun to dress up!
