Maskcat 57cm Dolls - part 2

@megsee2419 : Maskcat's body is very easy to dress. Pretty much any SD10 or SD13 clothes will fit. For Smartdoll, I think most things will fit as well, I bought a pattern for Smartdoll and it went mostly well, except for a very tight-fitted shirt (think one step from superhero costume) that is just a tad too small and weird around the chest and waist area-the armholes were not great either (of course, there is a possibility that I messed up somewhere too). But you would not have too much difficulties with most clothes I think.

For shoes, again, anything for SD10 or SD13 will fit. Some heeled SDGr shoes will fit in as well with Maskcat flat feet, since it takes more space (but you will lose in stability, however, it's not bad for a picture on a stand). Since there seem to be more styles in SDGR-sizes, it could be a good compromise. But it's a gamble. Some socks, or a bit of cotton in the shoe could help with an ill-fitting shoes. IMO, it you are not too picky, shoes are pretty forgiving.

 

So...I really like little shoes and I spent a lot of time combing through Maskcatdoll's photos and owner photos for shoes that seemed to fit nicely. I am quite picky about shoes.

I included links wherever I had them, so that you can look at the feet length/shoe lengths listed and compare them. I didn't try any of these shoes barefoot, but if you want to know about any of them specifically, let me know. They all seem to fit more or less snugly with the socks (and the socks are pretty thin).

Also, despite heels, these are ALL on flat feet (the doll has very nice ankle mobility).

All of the shoes on Dolly Planet are also modelled on Maskcat @lyaam12 is right, Maskcat's proportions are very very similar to Volks SD13 (more so than Smart Doll). Here's an old comparison from the V2 body: Login • Instagram

 

Anyone knows if normal maskcat skin is a good match to dollmore ? I would like to make a hybrid with a dollmore mio head and maskcat body .

 

Hi! I have a NS Maskcatdoll body and a Dollmore Mio head! I think they are more or less the same value (dark/light range) but the Dollmore head is definitely pinker. Maskcat Normal Pink is more creamy. I can take some photos for you later this week if you'd like to compare for yourself.

In the instagram photos I can see that the color is not the same, as you mentioned, but it seems quite good for a hybrid or do you think it is very notorious?
And what do you think of the mio head mobility in the maskcat body?

 

@deathdoll - The color is clearly different in person, but I think the head could be blushed more yellow and it would be fine! The head is a little lighter, so it should be able to handle extra blushing and still look good with the body.

The last two pictures show the size difference between the Maskcat heads and the Mio head. Maskcat Juni is a lot larger!

If you want to keep these photos for your records, you might want to download them. I won't be able to keep them on Flickr forever because I need the space! But I will keep them up for a few weeks at least!

 

@deathdoll : IMO, the head could be blushed if the color difference bothers you. The hardest part is the proportions, everything else can be more or less modded to fit.

To anyone waiting for their December orders, I got my Willow today, ordered the 7th December. She's gorgeous. I feel a bit bad for my Astrid who became a floating head, but I just prefer Willow more for the my mourning mother character.

 

@StellaMarigold thankyou very much for the pictures, it helped a lot. I Will keep the photos for my records. I always loved Mio but the dollmore body doesn't seem to pose well and maskcat seems a good choice for a body. And I think i'm good with the proportions.

@Iyaam12 can't wait to see your Willow, i'm also waiting for mine!

 

@deathdoll - You're welcome! Mio is one of my favorite sculpts as well - she has such a sweet face!

@lyaam12 - Congratulations on receiving Willow! I really admired her when she came out (I have a weakness for sleeping/half-closed eyes for sure) but I had to resist due to thinking ahead to other preorders. I can definitely see how she would suit a mourning character well - even though Astrid is very pretty, too.

 

@StellaMarigold : Half closed eyes sure are pretty aren't they? I think that Maskcat only had Xilv, who was discontinued a long time ago, as sculpts with half closed eyes, so I kinda jumped on Willow. XD Astrid is a stunning beauty (and I sincerely think that she is the most conventionally beautiful of my sculpts) , but she looks a lot more youthful than Willow, her cheeks are much rounder. I don't really have the heart to sell her, I will probably buy a bust for her and practice wigmaking and perhaps faceups on her.

And here is the last picture of my comparison-hybrid series, comparing the Maskcat body (WS) with the Argodoll plus-size body (normal pink)/Maskcat head (NS) hybrid, after the mod. Of course, if anyone needs to see something from another angle for their own hybrid, I am happy to take more. As you see, the bodies are very different, but could still conceivably belong to the same universe. The shoulders and waist are about the same, it is those chest and hips that make the difference. Frances definitely looks way more adult than Willow on that picture.

Frances still looks a bit swan-necked without the wig, but oh well. XD I weighed blushing the neck against my laziness and my laziness won since the color difference does not bother me in person (for now XD).

Francis is here! She arrived today! She is just amazing!!!! I ordered all the extra hands and feet and I am NOT disappointed! The detail is amazing! Her ability to pose is amazing and I just love the way you change out the hands - so easy! I also love my willow head and will be ordering her a body soon!

Congrats, she's beautiful! How is the case she came in? Is it the new green one?

 

It is! It is nice. I had a lot of trouble opening it though. Once I figured it out, it was easy and worked well. But fit a moment, I thought I was going to have to use a screwdriver! By the way, the way it opens is: 1. Unsnap the “leather” buckle straps. 2. Push the 2 “lock” buttons towards the outside of the box. Then it opens very easily. I did not know what to do with the buttons. I kept pushing them in. I was afraid they were locked!

 

All the dolls in this thread are *gorgeous* I hate to take away from them but...

I have a really big and weird ask: I'm looking for a body to go with my BlackCherry Ichigo head and Maskcat doll had one of the most flexible bodies with the right dimensions (neck, shoulders, etc) It works on paper, at least. But we all know that even if something works on paper it might not in real life. I don't suppose anyone has had any experience with seeing an Ichigo head near their Maskcat doll and could comment on possible proportions/size match?

 

@twylight - I have something that might help you! Some time ago while studying both Ichigo and Maskcatdoll I came upon an Instagram account with photos of the Ichigo head on the Maskcatdoll bust. Here is the link:
