May 2, 2017

    1. She's so gorgeous! I love her little freckles :D
Could I ask where you got the wig?

Your Ronia is lovely! I love her healthy looking and little freckles :love Tan skin is really tempting and I can hear my wallet yelling 'no! no! no!' now lol. The lovely wig your Roina is wearing is the one I wanted but was out of stock at the time. I got another wig, which is also pretty, instead for my Sofia (Liz).

I finally bought my own STM lens! I'm happy now that I can take some pictures that need no PS at all just to fix my terrible hand shaking problem (my tripod was broken a few months ago....)

    3. I love the Lisette sculpt! I think she looks very nice with dark brown hair :D

    4. @Moria_ash The brown wig looks great on Sofia! Especially with that faceup :D I have other wig plans for Poppy, but for now this one is the only wig I have for her :sweat

    5. @Moria_ash *gasp* what a fabulous photo of Sofia.........it makes me want to change my camera now! And I love that white gown she is wearing too.

Thank you! I really love Maskcatdoll's wig. It is soft and pretty easy to handle. I definitely want to get a few more.
      @Jane
I'm glad you like my picture! I bought her night gown from a Japanese dealer called Flapper (flapper-sewing).
I actually I wasn't interested in photo-shooting at all until I got my first doll ^_^ I didn't even take picture with my mobile phone and I thought there was no fun in it. BJD hobby really changed me a lot!
My camera is just a beginner model and it was very cheap. The STM lens costs me more than the camera but it's worth the price because it saved me from my shaky hands. If you don't have the same problem as me there are cheaper lens that have no anti shake function but of good quality in the market.

    7. @Moria_ash Oooh, I remember coveting Flapper's auctions on Yahoo Japan many years ago. So intricate and pretty!

    9. I repainted Poppy! Much happier with this second attempt. Unfortunately one of the sealant layers dried weirdly and left a white cast to the resin. But I'm happy with it for now and will probably keep it until I receive her replacement head :)

    10. I think she looks smashing! I wish I had half your skill in doing a face-up......her freckles look so natural. Clever you!

    11. She does look so natural - and perfect with the wig! Great job!

    12. Love seeing all the gorgeous Maskcat girls. I've fallen for them in a big way. Just received tan Margo (now named Claudette) have tan Ronia coming and I have a pink Evelyn head with no body. Will post Claudette soon... she is not cooperating at all with sitting, probably just me... but I just keep staring at her. Bought her in a weak moment and have no regrets. She's amazing!

    13. Congratulations! I haven't gotten a tan Maskcat girl yet but I have pink and white. Both my girls are the old body but there are two little points on the top of the upper leg. They will hook on the back edge of the body to let her sit well.

    14. Thank you for your kind words everyone! I'm glad you like her :)

@Eacretp I can't wait to see Margo in tan! I was debating between Margo and Ronia myself. I also find the new body doesn't sit very well. I think I'm going to hot glue suede her, but I'm too lazy to unstring her right now. I've noticed if I bend the upper torso piece forward a little, she sits better.

@nancy_schroeder_ca unfortunately there are no "butt notches" on the new body :(

    15. @Eacretp This is such a shame that some dolls sit well and others don't seem to be able to........I wonder why this is?
My girl is on the new body and she sits so well.

I took her out of the chair in the background and just posed her on the footstool for the photo here. Though her hands are placed behind her that is just to make her posture look natural, they are not helping her sit upright at all.
Like Kuro did with her doll, I pulled her forward at the torso to get her to sit this well.

    16. @Jane Yes, I think I should amend my comment - if I adjust her torso forward, Poppy can indeed sit very sturdily. It's just when her torso is 100% straight that she has a tendency to flop backwards. I agree with you that the sitting pose is more natural with the torso bent forward, it's a very nice feature! Though I will admit I have pinched my fingers in the joint several times now :sweat

    17. This is really strange
So many of you are experiencing the issue with your dolls not sitting safely. There obviously is a problem.
Yet I do not have any issues at all.............am I the only one with the Maskcat body that sits well????

I took my doll and placed her on the side on the desk with her torso straight, and her arms on her lap and I left her there for an hour.

She sat with no problems whatsoever and never once was she is danger of tipping backwards.
I do prefer to tilt her at the torso though, as it looks more natural

I think this is a wonderful body and the only slight niggle I have with this body is the quirky twist in the ankles. I must always check where her feet are after I pick her up as they will always need pushing back into a natural pose.

The fact that so many are experiencing issues with the doll sitting without flipping backwards is making me wary about buying another Maskcat body. :nowords:

    18. I haven't had any problems with my Margo sitting. She has been sitting on the top of a bookcase for weeks awaiting her clothing with no problems. Melodie has just arrived and I haven't had time to play with her yet - hopefully today she will get some time.

    19. Great to hear that your girl sits like a trooper too Martha!
And congratulations on the arrival of Melodie.....I am so looking forward to seeing her.
