Here it is! I hope this shop is okay - I have seen a few of these designs sold elsewhere (I think?) but this is where I originally purchased these specific shoes.

Edited to add: be aware that the "black" option isn't a very dark black. It is more of a sooty dark-grey color (very pretty, but if you are expecting jet black it might be disappointing):

I love those Nine9Style boots. Glad I bought several pairs when they were available several years ago. They had another similar cute boot fs this fall but I didn't get a chance to order any.

 

@cthulhu - Yes, they are so nice! I'd love to have a pair in brown as well.

Do you know if Nine9Style has an email system to keep customers updated with new items? I looked all over the website, but can't find anything. I didn't realize they had some new items available this fall.

Volks shoes are often very oversized! They say it's "room for socks" but I once bought SD girl cowboy boots that were at least 1cm longer than necessary and thought they had sent me SD13 boy shoes by accident.

 

About shoes, I am not too particular about them (most of the time they are hidden under a humongeous gown after all, haha), and I found that shoes that are for SD-13 fit well. SD-16 heeled shoes fit with the flat feet too.


@deathdoll: Here are pictures of my Willow. I will probably never get her out of that gown, it suits her a bit too well. XD I confess, she doesn't have shoes on. Not that it would change anything, right? XD

I also take advantage of that post to post some pictures of my Frances. I got her some clothing, a Raouken corset (the green one, made for Feeple 60, doesn't fit at the arms since it's on Argodoll plus-size body) and another white corset made for an Iplehouse SID, which I will probably dye in black, since I don't really like stark white on her. But I absolutely love that wig and the corset, big skirt combo on her, so I will probably find/make her such clothing in the future. XD

lyaam12 your Willow have a very melancholic look and I really like the whole look.That dress is something. It's very nice to see pictures of Willow, I haven't seen many of these dolls.

I haven’t seen Maskcat head on other company body! Your Francis is really flattering with mature body!! And thank you for the size reference! How naive I was when I started in bjd hobby that I thought one shoe fits all dolls in same scale

I'm glad you like how she's turning out so far. This is exactly the kind of clothing I want for her (Victorian style), but I do need to find a blonde wig and some eyes. I'm hoping to make a lot of her clothes, too - I have fabrics, just need the time!

 

@Lady Maeve : Thank you!^^ I think there was also some other pictures of hybrids in that thread (even one of a Maskcat in a boy body, and one on a Sadol body which looked really nice too). I know that the Maskcat dolls are intended to be young girls of 10-15 max, but as long as the body is fairly lush, the remnant of baby fat don't look shocking (to me at least XD) since if people have some butt and breasts, it stands to reason that they would have some fat in the cheeks too.

I have to add that even though the SD-16 shoes fit with Maskcat flat feet (since it takes more space), it isn' t as balanced (I wouldn't let her stand without a stand with SD-16 shoes on) and if you zoom in the shoes, it's the flat feet, so the muscles aren't curved right, but if you aren't too picky about details, or if you take pictures of the doll sitting, it's an option to consider. But until now, any of the SD-13 and SD-10 shoes I've bought fit to my satisfaction. If the shoes are slightly too big, a sock and/or a bit of cotton and/or a supplementary leather sole cut out from a piece of leather or cardboard in the shoes could help the fit!

In general, I found that the Maskcat body is very, very easy to buy stuff for. It fits near everything SD-10, SD-13-sized and I think the maker made the body with that in mind. I even replaced my Argodoll body feet by Maskcat feet since it was easier to find shoes for them.

@Lady Maeve : Here is the results of my experiments about clothing the Maskcat body:

I never got any problem with SD-10 or SD-13 clothes. For example, the gown that my Willow is wearing was one for a SD-10/SD-13 doll made by Ayuandana. There is lacing on the back to accommodate other dolls, but laced the "normal way", it's a perfect fit. I bought a few ready-to-wear clothes for SD-13 and they all fit the Maskcat body perfectly. It included shirts, pullovers, skirts, pants, socks, coats and tights. I never bought Volks clothing (too pricey for me, lol) so I can't vouch for the "official" measurements, but I never got any problem with quite a number of Taobao and Etsy sellers. It really is a very easy body to buy stuff for. XD The clothes got just enough room for the body to move, like for normal clothes.

If you like the oversize fashion, some SD-13 boy clothing can fit the Maskcat body, notably shirts and coats.

From a pattern I got, I think the SD-16 clothes may be too roomy, and I am pretty sure that SDGr-sized stuff would have the same problem. (Again, it could work for oversize, but I never tried it)

Since Iplehouse SID fit the Argodoll plus-size somewhat, it will be too roomy for the Maskcat (Or, since the Argodoll plus-size can wear SD-13 boy clothing, perhaps Iplhehouse SID shirts or coats could work for oversize clothing?). I am not familiar with other Iplehouse sizes.

I never had one, but it seems that Sartoriaj SD size is for way bigger doll than the Maskcat.

Some people say that the Smartdoll measurements could work too, but I think they may be a smidge too small at the bust, which could be a problem for close-fitting clothes. I had a pattern for Smartdoll and the coat and skirt fitted the Maskcat, and the close-fitting shirt ended up a smidge too small. But perhaps I messed up somewhere.

I think that while the Maskcat is waifish, there are some clothes aimed at "slim SDs" that are for even thinner SDs. I never bought one, but I think it's not the same proportions.

In conclusion: Not all SD clothing sizes fit. Make sure you get Sd-10 or SD-13 girl clothing, but as long as you stay in SD-10 and SD-13 girl clothing range, you won't take much risk, I think.

 

I have additional question. Is Maskcat White match / blend well with Volks White?? The head I have for the body is made in Volks White.

 

@Lady Maeve : Unfortunately, I don't have Volks doll, and I don't know about Volks white, but perhaps someone else could help you (I am not sure about this, but doesn't Volks have several whites? I think it would be best to disregard the denomination and see if it's pure white, without yellow or pink pigment or if it's off-white, to look if there is a yellow or pink undertone.)

That said, I think the Maskcat white can be photographed like a pale person, not a statue, for example in this picture taken to compare Maskcat normal/pink to Maskcat white:

In my humble opinion, though I have never done this, a slight mismatch between a white head and a white body could be fairly easily corrected in the faceup if you want to make the head match to the body or if you want to make the body match to the head, by blushing the neck and hands. There isn't a stark difference between ceramic white and off-white, which is why I don't think it would take much color correction. That's how I would approach this at least.

 

I got a side by side comparison photo from Maskcat To me it looks match just fine. That being said, I just placed the order for 57cm body. I'm very excited that my Theda can have a good compatible body!

@lyaam12 I don't mind the slight difference since it's going to look different even between exact skin tone after faceup. :P Your Maskcat girls are beautiful!! Thank you for sharing informations in detail!
