1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Maskcat 57cm Dolls - part 2

May 2, 2017

    1. @dbfalcao

I haven't received it yet! But I also ordered a bust stand with it, so that is probably why my order hasn't shipped yet (the stand would need to be cast).

I don't know about the EORI and VAT requirements, but I do think Maskcatdoll is a trustworthy company. Shipping requirements do change often, so I wouldn't be surprised if Fedex had new restrictions or something like that.

Currently my order is listed on their website as "Awaiting Shipment" (it has been like this for a few weeks). So I hope it will ship soon, and I will be glad to post here when it does if that helps.

    2. Thank you. I like chatting to you because you always reply so promptly :abow:
is this the dress/manequim you order ? https://www.maskcatdoll.com/product-page/maskcatdoll-dressform-for-57cm-body

I do trust them, I've order before and they were excellent and super fast. Thats why I think something strange. I called HMRC in uk and these EORI does not apply to me. so....will see...but its agonising not knowing whats happening !!!!:...(

    3. @dbfalcao - I'm glad I can help! I try to reply quickly when I can :)

Yes, that is the one I ordered! I'm so eager to receive it even though I don't have any time right now to make doll clothes haha - it looks so useful and well made that I'm sure it will be very helpful when I do have time.

Have you tried chatting with Maskcatdoll through their website or on their Instagram account? Maybe that would help set your mind at rest? They didn't reply very quickly on Instagram when I had a question, but I did get a pretty quick reply on their website chat.

I hope that you will get an update or answers soon so you won't need to worry any more!

    4. Hello! yes I got a reply and my doll has been sent! :) she should be there next week! :dance:dance:dance
I have been sewing so much for my dolls lately - in almost bought that mannequin but together with delivery was almost $100 and I think im more inclined to save that for a maskcat MSD

have adventure yourself making clothes before ?

      :)

    5. Hooray! That's great news!

I don't blame you for saving for a Maskcat MSD instead of buying a mannequin - the MSD girls are so pretty! Claire is my favorite, but I like them all.

I haven't made clothing for 1/3 scale dolls before, but I've sewn dresses, skirts, etc. for 1/6 and 1/8 dolls, and I used to sew clothes for my Barbie dolls and my siblings' G.I. Joes all the time when I was younger.

I hand-sew and hand-embroider pretty much every day (embroidering is one of the ways I earn my living) but I don't have much experience with sewing machines. I do own one, however, and it seems easy to use. So I look forward to trying it out!

    6. oh my god! You do embroidery!!! I find that such a beautiful skill! Is there anywhere you put your art for display or sell?:D:abow:

    7. I can send you a PM to my Instagram! Everything I make right now is related to my religious faith (it is very dear to me and I started embroidering because of it) but when I have time in the future I hope to use embroidery for dolls too! I'd love to make some embroidered dresses and things like that :)

    8. I'm really, *really* tempted to just impulse buy Astrid. She's such a beautiful scupt! She would be my first female SD, too.

    12. @Descant I am waiting for a tan Astrid right now so I will not try to talk you out of one! She has always been my favorite! So I guess this makes me the 3rd enabler!

    13. @Descant : I have a WS Astrid so I will be part of enabling also. XD She is definitely the most conventionally pretty of my Maskcat sculpts ( I have Yaël, Frances and Willow as well, and I think they fit my aesthetic better). That's why I have been unable to let go of mine, despite her not being what I looked for for a character. She is just so amazingly pretty.

    15. trying to post photos from my flick but im terrible at it :frownyblush::...(

    16. @dbfalcao Mostly because I want to see those pictures!:dance
      1. First, be sure your pictures are made "public." on Flickr.
      2. Then click on the picture in your photostream.
      3. There should be some symbols at the right bottom of the screen. Click on the one that looks like a twisting arrow.
      4. This will bring up a screen that says, "Share photo too.." Click on "BB code".
      5. You will get a code in a box and you can choose the size of your photo in that box - I usually choose medium. (If your picture is low resolution, you could choose something less.)
      6. Highlight the code and copy it into the box here at DOA. That should enable us to see your photo. I can NOT do this from my phone - only my computer. From my phone, I can post the photo as a link to Flickr.)
