1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Mature 1/6 Dolls - part 3

Mar 3, 2020

    1. ^ thanks for (re)sharing that link! Shoes have indeed turned out to be the hardest thing to find for these tiny feet so I was thinking about trying to make my own too. Yours already look really good for a first try. :D

    2. Thank you, Digi! There is a lot I can improve on, but it was a surprisingly easy experience; the hardest part was waiting for the glue to dry. Most of my mistakes where me trying not to be wasteful with my ink, and not printing the trims. Also thinking glueing the fabrics together was a good replacement to the self adhesive cotton fabric. Next time I will probably go with sewing them together instead!

I sincerely hope people try this, and see how easy these are to make -- even if the first tries are not as clean as Bijou's. (:

    3. Oh thank you for the link! I've been wanting to take another crack at making sneakers! Avery could use some of their own... This seems like a good one to try eventually. (And the chair and desk stuff from that channel!)

    4. I'm always happy to share things that might help fellow tiny-doll owners. I own larger resin dolls mostly, so I never felt the need to make shoes for them, and there's plenty of shoes already available for action figure and fashion dolls. However, Myou tiny males seem a bit of a pain in the gut hole to find shoes for, that aren't too big nor too small. These fit perfectly at the size I enlarged the pattern to, but the pattern itself can be easily modified to fit on any doll's feet. The tutorial is extremely easy to follow as well, and besides not being able to get all the materials Bijou uses, everything can be substituted without much of a problem. I used craft foam for the soles and trim, because I was too lazy to search for my white vinyl fabric, but I feel like they could have turned out much cleaner, had I used fabric for some of the trim and not split opened foam -- all I have on hand was 3mm foam, which is too thick for trim, but I was just too lazy. There's always next time, however, and these are a breeze to make, so I am definitely going to try again for certain. (:

Here are the shoes on my Myou. I wanted to wait until they were completely dry to try them on him. It took only a few hours to put them together, mostly because I chose to use Elmer's all-purpose glue, and that takes a lifetime to try. I don't trust myself with superglue, but that might be what Bijou used. It's probably better for gluing foam too, but I just rather wait a thousand years for the glue to dry, than to glue all my fingers together. Lol!

I misplaced one of his socks, but these fit really well with or without any socks, and because I lined the shoes with white fabric, I don't have to worry about staining -- I will still put socks on him, because I don't want to damage the blush work, but otherwise these are pretty cool. I had to use yarn covered in glue, for the laces because I don't know what else I could use that I already own, but there must be something better at a small scale. These are too stiff.

    5. Try waxed dental floss for the laces. It's cheap as heck, easy to find and should be about the right-ish scale. If necessary you could double it up by twisting it together to make it thicker. There's also a type of crafting thread that is fairly thick that would be in-scale but since I got it years and years ago, I have no idea where you'd get it now (or what it's properly called).

    6. I finally gave up on my 3 year old Dollshe order and asked BJDivas, who I ordered through, to cancel it. Not ordering an un-prototyped doll ever again.

I'm currently waiting on a Lucent on the 32Ascent body from Granado, and am seriously tempted by their new girl, Bayou.

    7. Sorry you had to give up on the order. :( The Dollshe boys in that size would have been so cool... It's really a shame he can't get his act together.

I FIRMLY encourage you to get Bayou though! ...Because I got Bonnie instead, and I want to see more Bayous around!! Haha. Hopefully your Lucent comes home to you quickly.

    8. Thanks for the suggestion! I'm vegan so it kind of wouldn't work for me, all I have right now is a black-type anyway. I know that 1:6 action figure use rattail nylon cord, but I don't own any right now. Searching for the right size of the cord, that's going to be a pain in the gut hole. Thanks again, for the suggestion! (:

    9. You could try crochet cotton or perle cotton. Both come in various thicknesses and in lots of colours.

    10. Any owner pics of Granado Bonnie or Bayou?

    11. I believe Bayou is a new release. I don't know about Bonnie though.

    12. The only prior release of Bonnie was the sealed eye version which is off topic. With the current shipping situation, I am not sure if any have been shipped yet.

    13. Apparently the 15Lucents from the first order in January are done and waiting to be shipped (Granado posted on their Instagram about the inability to ship due to the lockdown). I have not received mine yet or received a shipping notice but I also think the lockdown in Shanghai is still in effect? I assume any new orders are in the same boat as my January order but I could be wrong.

    14. Yeah, I think that's likely accurate—shipping is bound to be gummed up for a while yet, even if the lockdown were to lift tomorrow (which I don't think it will). Bonnie's original OT release was in August 2021, so likely in their owners' hands, but I haven't seen any floating around even on Weibo or the like. This is her first release with opened eyes! I do wish the listing for both her and Bayou included more clear pictures of the blank OE sculpt though... I might email them and ask for such.

    15. Bayou is a new release, and so is the second female body option. I think the original sealed eye Bonnie was only available on the Muse version.

Bayou's Asian face, the new Embody, and the wig available for her might convince me to order her...

    16. The Embody is actually the original release! The Muse body is the new one. Embody is the one that was crowdfunded with Jane. For some reason that one isn't available by itself anymore in the 29cm version--not sure why? Possibly because it wasn't as popular as expected... (I'm not even sure if the option parts available are for that one or the still-available 65cm one, but I'd kind of assume the latter.) I got Bonnie on the Muse body anyway, because it's a bit "sharper", so it suits the character I'm getting her for better.

    17. With the Jane release, there were extra bust and hand options. Under the bodies picture it says you can contact them on Q&A if you want extra parts for the Embody.

    18. @Idoru I'd forgotten Jane was on a different body than Bonnie originally. It's great they are offering both bodies this time. I would like a closer photo of Bayou's face too, though I might just order her regardless.

    19. @Leo Pheonix I did hear from Granado and got those pics! I put them in the Granado tinies discussion thread, here!

    20. Late to post these pics here considering they've been home for over a month, but my two LuuusiQ/EchoTown Photosynthetic girls are here! They are both the "77" sculpt, one in tan and one in NS. I bought the NS girl from Stacy's Pink Ocean and all they had was the closed-eye version, so I'll have to get her modded, and I bought the tan girl from the most recent pre-order through New Clover-Singing. Both arrived within a week of each other, and I am over the moon! They are amazing posers, and everything about them is so elegant! They don't fit Barbies shoes as I'd hoped - their flat feet fit 'curvy' Barbie shoes, but the heel feet are too big :...( However, they do fit Blythe shoes!

Here they are, posing in their made-for-Blythe cowgirl boots:

And, much to my excitement, they fit Rainbow High clothes! Some things are a tad loose, but overall completely workable! They also fit some Barbie clothes, but most are too big, and the pants are definitely too long as these girls are about 24cm. I only have one piece of Blythe clothing (overalls) and it's a tight fit in the hips/thighs, but stretchy things should work. I'm excited to (eventually) start drafting my own patterns, but for now, "off-the-rack" clothing suits them just fine!

Here's NS girl (still don't have names for them :sweat) modeling an RH outfit and wearing some Monster High boots (her feet are WAY smaller, but I can still jam them in there and from the front they look great!):

They are automatically such sassy girls with big attitudes, and I love them!! And I love that they're a little chubby, so cute!

They're already so spoiled, and because they fit playline doll clothes, I only anticipate their closet growing exponentially!
