Mature 1/6 Dolls - part 3

Mar 3, 2020

    1. Oh they are just SO cute! I'm so glad to see they fit RH clothes. I don't have any of them, but a friend of mine does--she'll be happy to learn this, I'm sure.

    2. Nice, @HeyJude! I love them - I kept thinking about getting one of those girls but they're not currently in my budget, alas. Still, at least I get to see yours!

    3. Just sharing a photo of my mature tiny Myou Bettina male, wearing his new black vinyl pants I just made for him. I used a pattern by Requiem Art Designs meant for Taeyang -- they used to have it for free on their website, but I am no longer able to find it on there. However, if you Google Free Taeyang clothes sewing patterns, it is one of the first results that pops up from Pinterest. I downloaded it a million years ago, when I first got my first Teayang MIO kit, but I feel the one on Pinterest is exactly the same size (I haven't tested it, but just by opening both in any browser, they look the same). The fit is a bit baggy around the legs, but the fit around the waist and hips is quite nice (IMHO, for my taste). I would need to adjust it if I wanted to make more fitting pants (which is my preference for vinyl pants), but it is a good alternative for those who like to make their own clothes, but don't know how to make their own pattens (or suck at it, like I do!).

The shirt I made for one of my slimmer OT male fashion dolls a few years ago, but I can't recall now for whom I made it originally. I can't find the pattern I made sadly, so I'll have to try again if I ever want to remake it in other colors. I love the fit on him, and of course I love black, so I don't need it in other colors, but I would like to have at least one in white. It would also be helpful to know for whom I made it for, because then I could just search for patterns for that doll online, and alter them instead of having to make a whole new one.

I had some Mattel BTS clothes laying around, so I tried the jacket from one of the dolls (I don't know the young men's names, so I apologize, I only got the dolls to steal their bodies for custom/hybrid male dolls!). The tops will most likely fit Myou mature tiny males. I wasn't able to try the ones I have on my Bettina because I don't want to remove the head -- the opening on the back is halfway closed, halfway Velcro, Bettina's head is too big to fit without ruining something. The other tops from the other dolls seem to be attached to the jackets, so I didn't bother. The pants won't fit for sure, but the jackets do fit, but not well fitted.

I found a Mattel Barbie Dreamtopia tea set at Dollar Tree, so I got three to repaint two of them -- I am always looking for tiny tea sets for my dolls. They are of course a very nice scale for most 12" fashion sized dolls, so these sets will work for most dolls under 12-inches (depending on the doll's proportions).

Sorry for the wall of text. I thought some of these things could work for other mature tinies, so I shared here, instead of on the Myou general tinies thread. (:

    4. Now you have me wanting to go to Dollar Tree...

    5. This thread reminded me that for a while now I've been supposed to check our attic to see if any of my old Barbie furniture - or the one horse I had for them - still exists and what kind of fit they'd be. I mean, they should be there, my family isn't exactly known for throwing stuff away "in case someone might need it 30 years from now on"(TM). I'd love taking more detailed pictures of my Alan and soon arriving Cordelia with some interesting props, especially now that I'm no longer afraid of the idea of painting them in some other color than hot pink. :XD:

    6. They have a few Mattel branded toys on there now, but mostly shoe and head accessories packs for Barbie. I do collect those too, but I was actually thrilled to see something I could use for my Myou tiny. They have a lot of Disney/Pixar figurines that might work for toys for your toys, type of prop. I'm a hoarder, so I keep most of those sealed, but I do own few duplicates of the mini-Barbie figurines for my Barbies (I don't think Ken Kaneki would be one to collect Barbie). They are at the very least, super inexpensive. They also carry Mattel branded Barbie clothes sets at some Dollar Tree, I haven't been lucky to find any at my nearest ones, but Barbie clothes seem to work for some mature tiny females as well. I would get them for my hoarding, since I rarely unbox my Barbie, and don't plan on owning any more female BJD, since they are way less than at most other retail stores. (:

@digi, I wish Mattel would release some of these sets in a variation other than pink and neon bright colors. I know that's what their target audience favors, but some neutrals wouldn't hurt, every now and then. It is a good thing they can be repainted. ^.^

    7. I received Asleep Eidolon Cordelia 1/6 SP today and in case someone has wondered how the size of AE dolls compares to Myou's same size here's the answer;

      Edit: fixed the image size

    8. Oh they're so cute together!! That's such a darling height gap... (Also, for your pictures--it's not imgur, it's DoA! If your pictures are too big they don't display. I usually resize them to no more than 1200px on the longest side and that seems to work just fine.)

    9. Ah damn, I didn't realize they're that big, I recently swapped to a new phone and never checked what size it saves the images :doh I'll edit that right away. + Thanks, I found their size difference cute too :XD:

    10. @digi, they look super cute together, it is a very nice height difference between the two. Thanks for sharing! I haven't looked at Asleep Eidolon in a long time -- if they ever made Sachiel merman in a similar size, I would be in deep sh... I rather hope they don't make similar proportioned males in that size (or specifically, Sachiel miniaturized. I'm not a fan of their current tiny male body). They are another company I find incredibly tempting, but too child-faced to own larger dolls sizes in (although, I shouldn't even be wanting any more resin dolls in any size to be honest). Congrats on your new Cordelia, the sculpt is gorgeous! (:

    11. I shouldn't be wanting any more resin in any size either but.... I recently received my Granado 15Lucent and aside from being a perfectly proportioned 15cm tall man, he needs a partner (eventually). He's currently wearing 3mm nail gems for eyes and I need to make him a wig and get him a face-up but he's gorgeous. I'm wildly biased, of course, but Crocus did a standout job on sculpting him.

Also as a side note, does anyone have experience stringing hands for dolls this size? The elastic (bead/jewelry elastic) that was used in my Akhmel Nathan's jointed fingers broke the other day (scaring the hell out of me when his thumb just fell off as I was posing him). It's not the entire finger that's jointed. Just the first knuckle where the fingers meet the palm. I sent an email to Akhmel asking for direction on how to string them but haven't heard back yet so any insight would be helpful and appreciated.

I'm likely going to have to restring his body as well (it looks like jewelry elastic but about 2x as thick) as he's quite loose and it is the original stuff from when he was released in 2016 so 6 years old now. If anyone has an Akhmel Nathan and has re-strung him, tips/tricks/advice would also be appreciated for the general stringing of his body.

    12. Does anyone know where to buy elastic to restring mature 1/6 dolls? My DIM Alana is 8, and while I did tighten her elastic a bit when I put her new hands on, she's pretty floppy.

    13. The last time I bought doll elastic, I bought it from CoolCat. I've also bought it from Dollmore in the past. I usually use 2mm elastic on my dolls in the 27cm range, but I see 1.5mm in there, which would probably work just as well and be easier to get through tiny wrist joints.

I don't know if I'd use anything smaller on a 27cm doll, but CoolCat's 08.mm elastic is probably great for the really tiny ones.

    14. I hadn't even thought of Cool Cat for elastic. It's been years since I bought from them. Thanks for the heads up on the elastic.

    15. She looks so cute in them! I love Siobhan... Such an adorable sculpt, and she looks so wonderful the way you've styled her. ♥

    16. Siobhan is such a cutie. <3 Is that a barbie basket I see?? :3nodding:

Speaking of Barbie. Myou's wear her clothes possibly better than her!

    17. How did you get her to stand on her own? My Myou's require a stand but maybe they're too loose, string wise.

    18. I suppose mine is pretty kicky? But I just positioned her legs, and adjusted her top weight until she stood up on her own and her legs just held her tight. owo

Congratulations on your boy! He's so cute!
