Mature 1/6 Dolls - part 3

I have tried Mattel BTS clothes on my Myou Bettina male, I found one of the tops fits, as well as the jacket that come separate from the top, although I find the jacket too oversized for my personal taste. The pants won't fit, unfortunately. Here's the photos of him wearing the jacket and the top, the latter is what I find to be a very nice fit. I "enjoy" torturing myself (and my dolls) into sewing clothes for my dolls myself, so I only tried those pieces on him because I have them on hand (I wanted to steal the BTS bodies for custom hybrid action dolls, but that didn't work). I am stuck with clothes and bodies no one will use now. DX

 

Yeah, the MYou boys are a bit hard to fit--not quite Ken sized... You might want to try Clear Lan! (Although it's almost CNY, so be aware of that.) You can email and ask which sizes would fit best, but Clear Lan offers a lot of sizes so it's a good bet they'd have something. I have a hunch that Obitsu27 boy stuff might fit better, since he's a bit slimmer, or clothes meant for Taeyang. (They might be a bit short.)

 

I don't own any Obitsu male bodies, but from photos they seem slimer than the discontinued Volks Neo EB Goh, which I still own a few of. They are highly stylized, and quite slim, but I don't own any premade clothes that fit on either of them (I just really love sewing doll clothes, what can I say...>_>;.). I did attempt making pants for my Myou mature tiny male from a pants pattern meant for Taeyang, that works on that specific doll rather well. However, Taeyang are much broader and taller than the Myou male body, so the pants were way too baggy, they were probably a tiny bit long, but not by much. They were just too baggy on my doll (and for my own personal preference for pant fit), but the waist does fit rather well. The shirt pattern I didn't try on him, because it's a T-shirt pattern and I have no desire to make T-shirts for my dolls (I'm not into casual doll clothes, unfortunately! Unless they will stay sealed with the doll they come with, I don't really like t-shirt and jeans on myself, let alone on my dolls).

I found a pattern for Barbie-sized leggings somewhere and I made a pair of half-burned/raggedy pants for my Myou male, and that did work perfectly well. I have no clue if I saved the link somewhere, if I did, I'll try to post here. Although, I am not sure people are looking for patterns for sewing clothes for the mature tinies, since it is a pain in the gut-hole and a half (I just really am a masochist when it comes to sewing things, I should really be purchasing -- but my taste in doll clothes is probably questionable to say the least, weird to-heck-and-back, not to call attention to myself. DX).

The pants from the Taeyang pattern are from the most popular Taeyang pattern you can find, it comes with a T-shirt pattern as well, easily found through a quick Google search -- I am no longer able to find it on the website from the original creator. Otherwise, I would link to it. Here are the pants on my doll, without alteration, they are baggy as the dickens (IMHO). The shirt he's wearing I made, using a pattern I created for either an OG Monster High male body, a Volks Neo EB Goh body, or for my Taeyang. Unfortunately, I can't recall where I left the pattern, or if I even saved a copy of it somewhere. I already looked for the pattern anywhere I could, but I've had no luck. I really like the shirt's fit on him, so I wish I had saved it somewhere I could have easily found it. Now I'll have to make another one, and I am not sure I'll ever get to it (the way things are going, probably not soon).

I will try to remember to link to it, if I find the link to the original pattern. I am sure I didn't alter it in anyway, but I might have added seam allowance due to the fabric I used not being stretchy. So, probably Barbie sized pants will fit on the Myou mature male body, I own a lot of Barbie dolls and clothes, I just never remove them from their sealed packaging, because I am a weirdo. So I can't really try any on my Myou doll. ^___^;;

Out of my price range for the size, especially right now, but ugh. I wish I could get Yeriel, she'd make such a great older sister for Aurelie, my Xagadoll Sylvia...

 

I wonder if they sculpted Elizabeth to resemble Leonardo's Mona Lisa, then I saw they styled one of them as Botticelli's Venus...DX Both are gorgeous, if they sold heads separately, or I had the funds to sand down the bust I wouldn't mind the Elizabeth, as a male (Mona Lisa inspiried...Lol!). DX

 

White Doll's 31cm muscular body is up for sale on Dolly Planet. It's $255 for white & normal skin like the 29cm body.

Contemplating getting him as a boyfriend for the 29cm body.

 

Please do, because I want to see them both!! All these great 1/6 dolls hitting the market while I'm in the middle of moving... Not fair!!

 

I am currently on gentle big guy and his unhinged fae boyfriend as far as concepting what I am shelling.

Gonna mull over it during the Lunar New Year since China is basically on a massive 2-week vacation during this time. I did get some lucky money to spend.

Not sure if I want the big guy in normal or tan.

 

That's exactly what I did!

I got the 29CM in normal, and the 31CM in tan.

 

I hope to see lots of photos of the 31cm dude! I absolutely love that they made the torso longer than the 1st version. I always looking for more realistic proportions in BJD. Sadly, I don't have the extra funds right this moment, and I still need to pay for lot of upcoming OT preorders. I don't want to own any more resin as well, so I don't know if this a blessing in disguise or just coincidence.

I do love the aesthetics of the 31cm body and wish I could have one, but I will just have to settle for photos kind owners will share with us. (:

 

Whitedoll is also re-releasing the first version of the 31cm buff body.

Decisions, decisions........

The measurements are not that different, but I feel like the version 1 has a visually thinner waist which I like a little more.

I think I am going for tan.

 

Does anyone know for sure if the 31CM V2 has cut out eyes? The mockup doesn't show them, and also looks clearly 3d printed so I was assuming it was just to show the body differences, but now that they also re-released V1 I am concerned I should try to switch?

I want him to match the 29CM I bought :/

Thinner waist and more leggy V1 to be the buff boyfriend. I do like legs.

 

Okay, I messaged them and got an answer - the 31 cm v2 has CLOSED EYES (they called them "sleep eyes")... now I don't know if I should switch

 

Phew, good to know! Thanks for finding out @homemademonsters... If you wanted the opened eyes, I'd switch personally--they're only slightly different in terms of overall body shape.

 

I had the exact same dilemma earlier this evening before checking this thread LOL. I ended up sticking with the 1.0 since the body doesn’t appear too terribly different. I do wish they could switch or sell the heads separately tho

 

It is good to know that the heads are definitely different. To me the torso is different enough, as a collector of 1:6 mainly, that I would go for the v2 version; the opened eyed vs closed is not an issue for me (if I had funds to spare right this moment, I would so go for the v2 all the way. I don't mind modifying things myself, if closed eyes ever bothered me). I found the body gorgeous, since I saw the v1 version. However, I much prefer the broader, longer torso that v2 has, so I would definitely go for that one. Just my luck, he's probably not going to be available ever again. I don't shop second hand when it comes to these kinds of dolls, due to their nature. Too bad, I was already set on never getting more resin BJD, and now that I actually do want one more (gladly would trade for a PVC/ABS version, which I'm probably more likely to win the lottery than that happening ever!). Looks like fate really wants me to never own any more resin dolls, ever again. I don't know if I should be sad, or happy. DX

I'm still stalking this thread, for photos of both versions, hopefully. I think closed eyed heads are a complete determent for most people, so I might not get to see my favorite version, but at least v1 is still beautiful to look at. Congrats, to all who will be able to bring one home! (:
