1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Mature-looking Mini discussion

Apr 20, 2006

    1. Thank you!
I love their posing abilities, but it takes some getting used to - they are different then other dolls - my Narin boy is a piece of cake to pose, but my Limho took some getting used to, but now I just love how he poses.

    2. I love 43-45 CM dolls, but all the ones I've seen are kids/childish, and I don't really like kid dolls. Also, I'm really not fond of the Narae/Narin molds. :C So can someone please direct me to a doll about this size that is mature-looking?

      Thanks!

    3. Minifees are pretty mature.
      Eluts.com - click fairyland.

    4. Are you looking for a male or female? Minifees are mature looking but petite - about 42cm for the boys and 41cm for the girls.

I think the most mature looking male mini is Limhwa Limho aka Mono (vs Mano the SD size).

The Lati Blue boys are also fairly mature looking and have a choice of 2 bodies.

And BTW - think there are a bunch of threads like this - do an Advanced search of Mini Discussion only, Titles only, for mature*

    5. I was leaning more towards getting a girl as my first doll-- I didn't know there was an MSD-sized Limhwa doll! (I was actually going to put a half elf on layaway, but when I realised how big they were, decided I should probably get something smaller.)

    6. There are male and female mini Limhwas. Some other sculptors from the same school run by Bimong (sculptor of of Narindoll are):

Castle Anne minis are also lovely:

Also, the DOC girls from Dream of Doll can now all be purchased with the mature Girl Body 2 which is a heavily double-jointed body. They can look quite mature on a mature body.

    7. You're amazing, you know that? :D
I thought the 43cm girl Limhwas were discontinued? :(

    8. No on mentioned Yisol and Yan by Supia. Solemn Yisol is more mature looking in my opinion, although many people prefer smiling Yan. Similar body shape to Narae and can share most everything.

    9. 27cm Limhwa ToYou is discontinued. 43cm Limhwa ForYou is still sold. There are few Limhwa owners on DoA - I remember that from when someone else wanted owner reviews.

I think out of the Bimong school the most popular dolls are 43cm Narae classic and open eye, Limhwa Limho 44.5cm, Limhwa Half-Elf and Mano (big dolls), and Minisupia Yisol (mini Asian girl).

One other mature mini girl is Unoa Lusis and Sist (Unoa 1.0 and 1.5). But getting one requires either a lot of patience or a deep wallet because the retail preorders are infrequent and the resale price for a Unoa girl kit is about 1.5x retail and finished girls are higher. The most recent order was this past summer 2007 and we just received our girls from that one so there have been a number of kits and girls and the Marketplace. The last main girl preorder before that was in 2005. They are about 42cm. Default bust is flat, and the optional bust part is quite large but lovely. Depending on the faceup they can look young or older.

    10. I have found that a DOC boy head on the Girl Body 2 looks quite mature, especially dressed in age-appropriate clothing.

      http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v228/kwanboa1/sydirfn1.jpg

Volks on the left, DOC Yen head on girl body to the right. (Volks girl's character is early 20s, DOC's is around 30)

Faceups can do an AWFUL lot for the mature look, as well.

    11. CastleAnne is a mature 43cm.

    12. Slightly shorter, right around 40cm, are the Orient Doll Dae size, Tae, Il (boys), Hong, and Cheong (girls). http://www.theorientdoll.us/

Mature bodies, and smaller eyes on small heads.

They don't mix particularly well with the 43cm crowd, because they are a different scale. Although some people have made it work in photostories and their group of dolls.

    13. I need a mature mini that poses really well, any suggestions?
Lets ignore the price issue for now too
      Thanks in advance!

    14. I've heard Mythdoll yue's pose like a dream but you will have to buy on the secondary market, the company quit taking orders last year.

    15. I'd have to go with Unoa. I have a Unoa and a Minisup, and I've handled MNFs, and the Unoa is the best poser of that group, hands-down (and mine REALLY needs her stringing tightened).

    16. Souldolls! I have had Narae, Unoa, Limhwa, Dollmore kid, the new Leekeworld mini, and the Souldolls with the double-joint body is a phenomenal poser and beats them all without a doubt. I became a huge Souldoll fan, they pose so well that I will tolerate the girls overendowed body in favor of their posing ability.

    17. I find the Mini Dollfie Dream body the best poser I have found so far. She is vinyl and not strung like resin dolls so you do need to take care to avoid staining but she poses like nothing I have ever seen before. Also you can buy chest replacements to enlarge her bust (see http://www.volksusa.com/ddop0025.html and http://www.volksusa.com/ddop0026.html ), she has such cute curves and would make a nice mature mini.

I'm not sure if you could make hybrids, I've not seen anyone do it yet however people can make hybrids for the regular dollfie dreams so I should think you could with the mdd too, providing of course that the skin matches.
