1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Mature-looking Mini discussion

Apr 20, 2006

    1. << Sky, ya could've looked around. Lol MNFs FTW, duh? Vana's mature bodied, Naraes as have been mentioned, Unoa, Dollzone, etc etc. ^^

Are you finally "officially" looking into getting a BJD?

    2. Latidoll blue line are mature minis. Love them! The girls can fit Unoa stuff.

Eidt: Just remembered, the new Iplehouse girls are mature minis.

    3. I dont know about the resin match but Angel of dream MSD bodies are beautifully svelt and the male area is sculpted quite accurately (not gigantic but just right so dressing is not a problem)...even with a set of ...well you know
Their Msd molds are definitely more mature .

    4. If you want crotch power, taller, and some muscle definition...I also recommend AOD's new male body. Nice resin quality and weight to it with very good posing ability. Don't know how the resin matches with DOD resin though.

    5. I'll add to the chorus of voices that recommends the DZ 1/4 body. It's skinny, but with the right head on it doesn't look like a child (and they're better endowed than the DoT I had when I got my first one, which is beyond funny).

The AoD 1/4 body is ridiculously muscular as well, but I don't have one so I don't know much else about it. There's also the new Fairyland MNF body, which is harder to get, but muscled and the best poser I've had in my possession. I doubt the resin will come close to matching, though.

    6. In terms of body.... There is Fairyland, Lati Doll, Angel of Dream, and I think Fantasy doll. Fairyland has a phenomenal mature boy body, but you would have to determine for yourself if any of the head sculpts are "manly" enough for you... And I can't think of the other companies' head sculpts atm, so I can't really help you there..... T.T;;

    7. If you want a doll with a regular mini-sized (7-8) head you're pretty much out of luck, IMO. For mature minis there's the Lati Blue guys and Limho Mono, and if you don't mind the doll being out of scale with even other mature minis the Orientdoll Dae type dolls are pretty mature-looking.

    8. It also kind of depends on how realistic you want your doll to be, I am thinking of maybe a B&G mini guy now that Denver Doll has them, they don't look too young--but they are not "human realistic". Thats ok for me, in fact they are the first boy minis I like at all, but if you want human realism--my only suggestion is a Narin--and they are sort of expensive.

    9. Take a look at Dragonfly Narin, he can look quite mature.

    10. I agree with gayle about Narin. Just a thought, though, a face-up can change a lot. I've seen some heads that looked way too adolescent painted one way, only to see the same sculpt with a different face-up that looked much more adult. I understand what you mean about wanting a more manly sculpt. Just thought I would mention a change of face-up in case you don't care for either of those two.

    11. I think your best bet will be a latidoll blueline. Too me at least they don't look younger then the sd redline. And no other mini will have manlier hands(funny story I was at a meet-up with a girl who had a dollshe Saint and some-how we came to the decision that my Rucas had the manlier hands)

    12. The face-up is definitely important. : ) Here's my Rucas when I just got him and gave him a chipper, young face-up.

And her ehe is now with a more moody face-up, which makes him look older. : ) But still more like a teen/young adult, so I do think a Narin would be a great choice.

    13. The eternal question--- where do I find an mature male mini? I remember posing a thread just like this awhile back!

I agree with a lot of the other posters and their recommendations: Limho, Narin, and Latiblue. Of course the faceup can make all the difference. The Narin Dragonfly definitely appears more mature. JinCincy's guy does look older. Nice!

I have Latiblue just like chienism. Here are couple of pics. Latiblue Mystic Kahn head looks older compared to the faceup on my Rucas. And the Latiblues are taller than a lot of minis.....

      Mystic Kahn, standard body.

Rucas with Unoa, and Rucas with Dollmore Momo

Have fun making the right decision for you!!

    14. I've been looking at Orientdoll Tae who has a lovely grown-up sculpt and is MSD-sized.
My main concern about him though is that his head seems rather small compared to most MSD-sized dolls...

I also agree a lot of it has to do with the face-up. Often the default face-up isn't very manly but with less pinkish colors and more brownish colors the face-up often looks manlier. I also find a bigger nose helps making the doll look less like a kid (as well as the right lip-shape but that has more to do with face-up imo).

    15. Angel of Dream have very masculine bodies and the faces can be manly depending on the face-up. I have a Chen and his muscles surprised the hell out of me, he has a nice packs of abs and slight muscle detail to his arms. His face was also very masculine but was hidden under a lot of pink which is currently being fixed.

    16. Orientdoll has an MSD boy that is very mature looking. :3 I think he's a little short, but he's very pretty. <3

    17. Maybe this will help you. These are my msd-sized guys. The Orientdoll Tae is the most mature of the group and yes, his head is quite small compared to the typical msd-sized heads. The Tae also has a mature body.

    18. I'm slowly plotting to get a girl.

Which mini girl poses the best?

I guess what I have in mind for "good posing" is "stands like a rock" and "able to stand on one leg" and "able to touch her face"

    19. The minis I have heard that have the best posing as-of-yet are the mature version DoDs and Dollmore kids. :)

    20. Well, right now for me, it's Minifee A-line body, though I have no idea if she can stand like a rock. But the way she can lay on her tummy arching her back or on her side, so natural and has double joints, interchangeable hands, etc... WoW, I just love how slinky she is! I'd give up on standing like a rock any time for slinky :)
